    We have a pretty new shower, but we're having extremely difficulty installing it. My husband just went to the plumbers to get them to attach a piece so we can attach the two ends together. It's not as easy as it looks. Im glad to see no one else have this problem. I can't wait to get under mine. UPDATE: I'm happy to say that after going back to Canadian Tire twice, we finally got the shower head on, and I got in immediately and loved it. I noticed an immediate difference in my skin. Great filter & thank you Sprite

Tape clockwise when ur facings the threads.

    I just changed my filter and the darn thing is leaking everywhere. I've dried the area, put on new tape, and since watching this video have removed the washer. It is STILL leaking like crazy. And it is leaking through the monthly reminder dial, too.

    • @theshowerheadstore
      @theshowerheadstore  Před 5 lety +2

      If it's leaking through the side of the monthly reminder dial, you should do the following. Uninstall the filter, open up the filter house and make sure that the large o-ring washer is properly seated inside. If it's not, that can cause a leak. If that doesn't work, you may want to look into replacing that o-ring as well. Not sure if Sprite sells them directly or if you have to contact them to get a replacement via their warranty. Good luck!

      You will have to lubricate both halves of the large internal o rings That #1.
      #2 the small black rubber washer in the back of the vessel, might be pressed into the shower pipe spout coming out of the wall. You will need to call sprite and ask for a new black washer. They know the washers soften up too much and are useless upon removal and replcmnt of vessel, unless you get new ones ea h time you replace filter

    • @theshowerheadstore
      @theshowerheadstore  Před 2 lety +3

      Hello Oscar This can be done simply by using your two hands. As shown in the video (3:57), rest your left hand at the back of the filter to hold in place and turn the bottom part of the filter counter clockwise.
      If you are in the worst place where nothing is helping you to pull out stuck filter cartridge from your filter, you can use a blow dryer or hot water to soften up the water deposits. The heat will make things a whole lot easier for you. Let me know if this helps.

    The only problem I have is I have a diverter with a shower head and a wand, I use the wand to run the water hot, so this design makes it so you could not install on the diverter and shower head, so if I wanted to run the water hot without using the sprite filter in between the diverter and shower head it is impossible, I wish it could be installed that way so it wouldn't consume the use of the filter

    • @theshowerheadstore

    I am not sure removing the washer is a good idea, the faster the water flows, the less chlorine it reduces. I have a sprite High output shower with a MUCH larger cartridge, even that has a tough time removing all the chlorine unless the flow is half to 3/4th gallon a minute (measured with a reagent from ebay).

    • @theshowerheadstore
      @theshowerheadstore  Před 5 lety

      That's a good point. You'd be trading off flow for the amount of contact time the water has with the cartridge. We've since been using an Inline Shower Filter by Crystal Quest which has a larger cartridge and doesn't have the issue with the thick washer. Got a video on that here: czcams.com/video/5zn3MeX5JEY/video.html

      As the video suggests, I would recommend adding a heavy amount of Teflon tape around the threads of the shower arm. Pro Tip: Before installing the inline filter, remove the large black washer inside of the female threads. This washer greatly reduces the flow of water. By reducing the water flow in that area, it may cause leaking through where you spin the dial. Let me know if you have already done this and if you are still having problems after doing this.

    I don’t understand why you would put toxic chemical laden Teflon tape on a shower filter whose sole purpose is to filter out toxic chemicals like PFOAS. Teflon is part of the problem of why our water/environment has gotten so toxic thus necessitating the need for filters in the first place. It just seems counterintuitive and downright asinine if you think about it. Even the manufacture of the Teflon tape likely contributes to the contamination of our environment and our water. This just seems like a profoundly nonsensical era of human history.

    • @theshowerheadstore
      @theshowerheadstore  Před 11 měsíci

      We deeply appreciate your detailed feedback regarding the use of Teflon tape with our shower filtration systems, underscoring your genuine concern for both environmental preservation and health.
      Your perspective has been thoroughly understood. Teflon tape is indeed a widely used sealing agent across various plumbing applications, including showerhead installations. However, we acknowledge the critical importance of carefully considering the materials we employ and their potential impact on the environment.
      When applied accurately during the assembly of showerheads, Teflon tape plays a crucial role in establishing a secure and impermeable seal. This significantly enhances the efficiency of the water purification process, allowing our filters to effectively eliminate harmful components from the water. Simultaneously, we remain steadfast in our commitment to exploring and offering alternative materials that resonate with our conscientious approach to environmental sustainability and overall well-being. Your valuable insights drive us to persist in our research and innovation endeavors, seeking solutions that are more ecologically friendly. We highly value your vigilance and dedication to a healthier environment, and we encourage you to reach out with any further inquiries or proposals without hesitation.
