- Sorry for the confusion. I meant to say 3440 x1440 on the 34” monitors. Was caught up in the 3840 resolution from this monitor.

Excellent review. Answered all of my questions and addressed all of my concerns.
This review was honestly the one I could form an opinion about the monitor best with. I like how you focused most of it on how it felt to use it, rather than just the specs.
Just a past time thank you!
dont usually comment but watch all your vids.
love your quality as always and your thoughts on the tech world. the little bit at the parking lot was funny.
Thank you! That means a lot!
You just changed my mind as I was thinking about this monitor. Thank you for your review.
Your welcome!
As long as you keep up this level of quality in your content, you will absolutely blow up on CZcams. Simple as that. Keep it up man
Ryan Dougherty thank you for this amazing comment!!
The reason that the image stretched instead of showing a wider field of view is because you actually have to change the field of view (FOV) setting in the game...
Yeah it needs to be at 103, not the standard 90.. I noticed this as soon as I played pub.
Thanks for this comment man. I am on the fence with this and a 35" AOC monitor. Use will be 75% work and 25% gaming and it bothered me that he said its stretched. So happy this is just the FOV setting. tx
nobody prefers 60hz over 144hz. That person doesn't exist. That's like prefering getting paid $10 an hour over being paid $20 an hour.
My comment doesn't say what you think it says.
Eh I know people who can't see the difference compared to there 60hz displays. But I surely can ;) I gusse not all eyeballs are the same.
Missed Lethal but depends? Getting paid $10 an hr to sit on your ass compared to $20 an hr to be busting ur ass digging holes all day 🤔
thats what the guy above you said. You need to reread before posting
and its also not a g-sync monitor
I have this monitor since that was launched by Samsung. Was my most smart investment. Incredible gaming experience. Ideal for multitasking and even for watch movies. 200% recommended. Good luck.
Hey bro I happened upon your channel via suggestion by YT. Gotta say as a new/small content creator I'm glad I did. I really like your approach & delivery of the info. I had to sub. Looking forward to watching more vids from you.
Thank you! This mean a lot to me!
Thanks. i was just about to buy this monitor and i wanted clarification of the resoulation and you answered it.
I have this monitor and its about immersion for me. I love it. Triple screen monitors is the best for immersion but the bezels had to go. For some reason in technology sometime in order to go forward you will take a step backwards, meaning I will gladly trade the bezels for the 1080 rez. Way more immersive than my ultra wide at 3440x1440p .
silverkcat thanks for watching. The monitor is absolutely amazing with no bezels
Do you use HDMI, DVI or displayport for4k gaming over 60HZ?
I want buy it, can i ask you a question? How do you feel when you see a movie or a serie???
Is it still worth a buy?
This is simply the best review i've seen on this monitor, thank you.
Thank you!
Amazing video as always dude! I wish I could afford to have that much space for video editing.
fgh thank you!
Great review, glad you included pros and cons
Jonathan S. Thank you!
Thanks for your review/thoughts, nice big video edit timeline screen, but will miss out on the height indeed.
Thanks to your review I thought to look for this monitor at my local Best Buy! I see it’s in stock, and I’m all over that! Running there this afternoon. Thanks!
Great review. Looking at one of these for my office where I'm replacing 3 24" sell ultrasharps. What chair do you have? Looks comfy AF. Looked on your gear list and didn't see it
Finally the CZcamsr I have been looking for!
Your video quality is on par with other high sub youtubers, subscribed and keep it up :)
POTATO GOD Thank You!!
Great points on the 1080 ratio. You helped me steer clear from this one. Good review.
this video had me sold, i was planning on buying this for my dad for christmas but i think ill wait until i research a more consistent display which isnt stretched, thanks!!!
Which did you buy? I think now there are more games that are optimized than at the time of the video
THANK YOU for the unbiased review. I hate tech reviewers who only speak positive of everything they review to edge people to buy them. Great review. Saved me tons of money and time.!! Subscribed
your heaps under rated👍 keep up the good work
You are right about what games can play the full screen. Good thing i saw your video review.
Thank you for this great review, keep it up. I have a 34" monitor and struggled a few weaks if i should sell it or not. After this video i won't :D
Very good review. Thanks. I had the same reservations and they were well covered. The main one being the 1080. I mean even when this much money you don't get the best of the best.
Fabulous review. Love your energy and honesty. Totally unbiased review that gives all the facts but tempered with your expereince. Great job ✊🏾
Kizito Katawonga thank you for the amazing comment!
Naah, bruh. It's all you!
Thanks man I have a 34" Rog and was looking at upgrading but was concerned about the 1080. So now I know for sure
Thomas Wilson your welcome and thanks for watching!
I'm glad you were honest with both the pros and the cons it's making my decision on if I'm going to buy it a bit easier!
Great info, great perspective, thank you.
you welcome, thank you for watching!
loved the review. great job!
Thank you Usman!
Yo Jose! Perfect review.
Made it simple for me. I'm an Acer Predator owner, so I completely understand. That 1080 is going to drive me nuts. I guess we gotta wait for the 1440 version and with Gsync. 1 more year.
Hey man keep up the good work, can you make a vid on the best programs to have for a new computer user?
moe b thank you for the compliment! Yes, I will definitely make one here in the next coming videos. Thanks for watching!
Really Excellent informative video; keep up the good work..
Nelson Reyes thank you!
Hey bro great video. New sub here for you looking forward for more videos like this one, keep it up👍
Great review 👍
Nice review brother!!
I own this monitor and it rocks! It's a little short up top but what you don't get up to this Monitor more than makes up for in how wide it is and the awesome refresh rates!!!! Bangin!!!
new subscriber here
that's a seriously honest review
Nice Video, really good explanations👍
Regards from Germany
Thank you!
Wow I was ready to pull the trigger on this monitor. But dat 1080. Thank you for the warning.
Also thank you for adding a interesting conundrum. Do you want resolution or do you want immersion?
Love your review Dude... Into the Details .. .Answered all my questions. I am sticking with my 3 ASUS Triple Monitor 3D surround setup ... until we get something out of the Box ... Hopefully one screen replacing all 3 with HDR, IPS, G-Sync 144+ and 4K ...
Philip Braidi yes! That is the dream monitor for sure!! Thanks for watching!
Would be cool to see 2 of those Monitors stacked !
Great review bro. Keep up the good work
jaysoegaard thank you!
Hey, does thing thing display true 4k at 144 hertz across the screen while gaming on a pc? And is the hdr as good as tv's lets say tcl pseries? Last question can it do 1440p at 144 hrtz
It does NOT display true 4k at 144hz while gaming. The HDR isn't as good as a tv and it can NOT do 1440p at any hrtz. wow, in a way its like...what can this monstrosity do thats worthy of the $1499 lol
I bought this monitor for sim racing and flight sim. Love it.
Great vid! SUBBED!
Can't wait for the hypersuperultrawide monitors.
Thanks for the video - Can you play 1920x1080 games also? and have black sides - for better FPS in some games
Got my 49 inch today. I love it!!
Awesome!!
i have the 27 inch equivalent to this monitor, same aesthetics, button placements and curvature, except mine is 144hz and 1080p. i still love it.
Excellent point of view and review
Thank you!
Nice review, thanks for sharing...
...I saw on DealNews that BuyDig via eBay offers the Samsung CHG90 Series 49" Curved 32:9 HDR LED Gaming Monitor with AMD FreeSync 2 in Charcoal Black for an in-cart price of $819.99 with free shipping. That's tied with our expired mention from three days ago as the lowest price we've seen for a new one. (It's the best deal now by $122.)
Hey Jose, question. Would you keep it if it was a $800 price tag on it. I know this is a year later but I am looking to get one now.
lol i come from a 24" 720p monitor to this in a few weeks xD
Me too
thanx for letting us know that the images gets stretched out, i didn't notice any other you-tubers mentioning than. I wish they made a monitor with 1620x3840
Excellent and realistic review. Is the ability to split the screens as you did towards the end of the video into multiple windows built in to the device? I am currently working on two side by side legacy Acer (Predator) gaming screens 60hz but with 1920 x 1200 resolution ( but with a massive spec new gaming PC from Xmas) so a new Acer Predator 35 inch was my choice until I saw this.. but I work on them as well as gaming so need to throw documents and web content into separate windows.. I may lose a tiny amount of pixels per inch but stepping up to 144hz and this immersive feel will be great for games..
Yes. The monitor can show two different inputs at the same time on the monitor. No software needed.
The new Samsung c49rg9 is out with a lower refresh rate at 120hz but 5120x1440 resolution.
You deserve more subs .
Great Review man! Love your channel you earned a sub :P , also I own a GTX1060 6GB , currently have one 34" 1080p and one 27" 1080p , I hope I love this :D
thank you! Yes, with your 1080 resolution, you will absolutely love this monitor with its bezeless glory!
21:9 displays ( x34) are 3440x1440 not 3840x1440. for the rest a good video :)
I caught that too after uploading. My mind was already wrapped around the 3840x 1080 that I couldn’t get away from that number lol. Thanks for watching!
Marcel Thelen caught that too, drove me nuts lol.
Also pubg supports 32:9, the image that you uploaded its not correct
Daynor _ at the time of uploading the video, pubg didn’t support 32:9
I have the chg90, and pubg does not support it as of 1-22-18.
fookin 'ell mate !!! i'd love a piece like this just to run Cubase in its full glory!!
Where can I buy this ? I can’t seem to find it only used
My dude...I have been waiting on this
Awesome, thanks for watching and Happy Birthday!!
TechJMedia you actually remembered. So gaming wasn't big for you with this monitor? What would you recommend?
Thank you for the birthday wish. Love your videos
Demonsour Vincent it depends on what graphics card your using to push it. I actually have come to love the 2560x1440 @144 and I also enjoy the Acer Predator x34. 2018 is coming and so are the updated monitors so I would wait too to see what new models are coming out but if you can’t wait I would recommend those but that’s my own personal opinion. Hope this helps.
TechJMedia I currently have the Dell 5k monitor and was good first and then started experiencing issues with the screens and have gone through 5 of them already. Now I need an all purpose monitor. I am currently building an AMD pc with the 1950x and Vega 64. I also have an Intel with a titan xp. I am went crazy when I first saw that monitor and thought about using it for work and school and game all purpose. I will still have my Dell 5k screen for back up.
So you talked about video editing which I assume was using one program. Does it work having three windows open running three different programs like a three (triple) monitor setup can? Obviously it gives an immersive experience say running a game even if it does stretch out toward the left and right; because generally the player would be focused straight ahead where the action is.
Hello. Nice review and honest but I have question. These monitor or 34-35 inch ultrawide with 2560x1080? I will use it for gamming 80% of the time and I have GTX 1080.
Thanks.
First time seeing your channel, totally subscribed! great video! however I'm still not sure if I want to sacrifice 1440p for the real estate, it's a tough decision... maybe if they made a G-Sync version it would be an easier decision.
Thanks for subbing! Its a very hard sacrifice to make, especially when you see this monitor in person. You try to justify it in your head because of its glorious size. I do agree on a g-sync version too!
I own this monitor too - way better for me personally than 3x1440p for gaming - sold 3x1440p
how did you feel going from 1440 to 1080? im tempted but im worried the reduced vertical res will let me down. on the plus side it would help power this beast if was only 1080.
for the first time it was a bit strange" because of lower resolution - but the immersion of it is the strongest side - now, it is not strange at all - the best solution until today form me! (I used 3x27" 144hz gsync asus rog pg278q and the shit oculus:) before)
you can see it under my youtube chanel
I use aorus 1080 ti waterforce wb xtreme
yeah i got founders edition 1080Ti that doubles as a heater. question about PiP. can you use that while using desktop applications then switch easily to full screen display so your game takes up entire screen or is it a a whole thing
Excellent review, I was thinking about the same, I have a 34' 1440p monitor, maybe this 1080 will feel too short. A better option I guess would be the Odyssed G9 for me.
I'm coming from a 27" and 21" 1080p dual monitor setup. Thanks for the clarification and advice you gave. I decided to order the CHG90 because of your review and hopefully it's not too bad. Otherwise, might return it then save up for the CRG90 :)
How have you liked it so far?
@@spm04 its a very nice monitor and love the looks. i wouldnt recommend it tho, it seems like a lot of people have an issue with the screen starting to have horizontal static lines and screen burn in. I have to turn my monitor off and on a few times for it to go away but its definitely a manufacture defect and happened right outside the warranty window. maybe go for a different brand and definitely go for 1440p, its worth paying a few more hundred dollars.
@@chickenman417 Awesome. Thanks man! Definitely read about those issues and was wondering if maybe they had fixed them, but seems they to continue to happen.
The same reason I returned it after 24 hours. I just subscribed to your channel. Good job!
Mihai EU Thank you!
7:07 It's not stretched that much, but if you look at your character and the plane you can see that it cuts a bit of the image in the top and bottom so you're actually seeing less.
Hi great show👍, what is the best 40” plus monitor for game’g on the PS4 and movies and for watch’g satellite TV.
Why didn't you stick with it? I noticed you are still using 3 monitors in the background. Good video btw. I'm used to using 3 monitors at 1080p and have been giving this monitor some thought since I've been looking into 1440p @ 144hz.
Excelente video. Muy bien explicado.
I currently run surround with 3 1080p monitors and I love it but I am really tempted to switch to this.
Nice video man. Would had been better if your video was at least 21:9.
Have you tried looking into changing the FOV? I don't play PUBG but some games support that adjustment, while others require a hack like Flawless Widescreen.
I bought it and using it right now. I am the first buyer of it in my country. I don't want others to buy it coz I'm awesome.
Shadow www acutely I gave blo job to see the monitor he is God around our small village
Smokes !!! 4:21 to 5:21 Pro Editing Experience that you got in this giant with Premiere Pro.
got to get me a 3 monitor setup with this bad boy
Guys I bought this monitor and PUBG looks zoomed/stretched. TheTechVault is right on this matter. You can only use the FOV slider for FPP. Setting it to the highest value does not help. That doesn't mean you can't play PUBG but you would have to setup the monitor to be 16:9/Play windowed. You could create a profile for that but in Windows you have to change your res to 1920x1080, unless there's an automatic solution for that
Bravo. A perfect presentation. Becasue of you show to us that such monitors (Ultra or superwide) IS NOT ONLY GAME. also for professional application and you show us also detail of multiwindow tasks. Except you, don't show this and focus only a game. Thank you.
Thank for the info. Being new to gaming I don't have a lot of experience on what's best so after some research I did get the CHG90 mainly for the immersive play of Star Citizen, Elite Dangerous and possibly PUBG, Ok... probably? ;-)
Holy crap 49inch super ultra wide I'd have to turn my head to use that as a single mointor. But dang that is clean compared to a three monitor set up
I actually PREFER lower pixels per inch because anything over 1080p @27 inches makes things too small for me to comfortably read. Do you think this monitor would be good for 16:9 gaming in the middle with 3 way split screen and like CZcams on the left and discord on the right edges? Can it even do that? 2 way split doesnt work for me because it pushes my game out of center view and the curve makes that wierd
Prolly better to wait for the next generation with better pixel ratio.
I game on 3*1080p and work on one 27" 1440p IPS monitor and I'm looking to combine both things on the same rig. If this thing would be 1440p it would be perfect but you have totally confirmed by suspicion that 1080 for work will just not cut it. I will either wait for 32:9 1440p or sacrifice a bit of width and go for an Acer or Asus ultra-wide.
I bought this monitor when it 1st got released in UK. I use it for productivity.
Your opinion after 9 months of use ? Thanks
And your graphics adapter please?
Could you recommend a system to place 2 Samsung 49" CHG90 one above another for a narrow space for working...
Hey man question since i actually PREFER lower PPI because it makes things bigger and easier to read do you think this monitor could be used with 3 way split screen with 16:9 gaming in the middle with say discord on the left split screen and CZcams or netflix on the right? For the record my current monitor is a Benq 24 innch 120hz TN 1920x1080 native BUT i actually lower the resolution to 1600x900 or 1280x800 to make things bigger when i game. Also how is the "REAL" response time i know its NOT actually 1ms? And does the strobing make it too dark like the on the CFG70? I THINK the CHG90 actually has higher brightness so i would HOPE that problem would go away. PLEASE respond when you can
Do you think this monitor on on a Pixelbook would be overkill? Or that it would even handle okay? Currently have a Samsung 27" widescreen and for browsing and doing homework, things just get too cutoff and would want a wider screen so not sure to go with this one or the LG 38". What do you think?
That "stretched out" image comes from a to narrow/small Field of View (FOV). The wider your screen is, the higher your FOV needs to be. For example in PUBG there is an FOV Slider. I would recomend a FOV of ~100-120 for this size of Monitor. (Sadly not all Games can be set to this high vallue)
i guess Im randomly asking but does anybody know a way to log back into an instagram account?
I somehow forgot my password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me!
@Adriel Ricky Instablaster :)
@Kolton Jeffrey thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm.
Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
@Kolton Jeffrey It did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thank you so much, you saved my account !
@Adriel Ricky You are welcome :)
What if I have the 32inch curved do you think is a good decision getting this monitor mines also a 1440p
Can this be wall mounted? If so, which mount do you recommend? Thank you!
Would you still take this over this AOC 49inch inch?
This review was 3 years ago. We understand for Video games, all that is needed is to amend the FOV settings from 90 to 103, however, 'TheTechVault' Do you know if monitors like these have since changed, in the capacity of showing a movie that will fill the screen and not be the standard 16:9.????
hi cool review i have 2x27inch 1080p looking at this samsung is it any good for movies and just general pc use i know it may be overkill cheers
James Beveridge not good for movies as you will have black bars outside the 16:9 aspect ratio. Even movies with a 21:9 aspect ratio, there will still be bars. You can watch a movie on one side of the screen and pc use on the other side “like a dual monitor. Hope this helps. Thanks!
It's already been 5 years? What the hell, I felt like this came out a few years ago
Thank You
Saw this on sale new but second hand and was stoked for a sec, but am already on a higher quality 34” ultra wide LG and the 1080 vert pixel count was a major deal breaker!
I've been looking for a vertical (stacked one over the other) monitor mount for two super ultra wide 49 inch monitors. Are any of you aware of where I could find a mount like that?
