Lol
Yes man (49 inches OMG)
You sir has the best review on this product. Good work!
what a lovely and informative review which gave us more than what the manufacturer just advertises.
thank you
Fantastic review, mine is arriving next week :D . Can’t wait
Finally someone thorough enough to mention of it has VESA. Easy sub and like.
very informative. much better than most reviews out there. still though. the pixel ratio is what gives me second thoughts about the monitor.
I upvote this video only because it is the only review of this monitor tells me how much space it needs on a table.
My Dad just grabbed this monitor from the micro center on the north side of Chicago can’t wait to watch movies on it when I come home for college early next year. We fell in love when we saw it on display!
But there are like no movies that would display full screen on this....
Great review! Thanks for pointing out the cons! Subbed!
I was thinking of replacing my triple-monitor (LG 23MP68VQ-P) setup but, after watching this, I changed my mind.
Thanks! I'm interested to know, what specifically put you off buying it?
These ones concern me:
1:01 - bezel
2:10 - Is this only possible if you use 2 inputs at the same time?
3:28 - backlight strobing doesn't work with FreeSync?
5:02 - two things to note
But, this is what mainly put me off (the BIGGEST concern):
6:12
6:27
Other than those, I have to admit, I am pretty impressed :)
Just placed an order for two of these! Can't wait
How do you like them?

@@ajacobs100 Amazing :)
The future is now. This looks amazing and like science fiction. My future upgrade in 5 years is going to be amazing.
I personally own this monitor. BEST monitor iv'e ever had the joy of using. Didn't like 4k, everything was too small. This is my goto monitor for the next 4 years, a MUST BUY. :)
@@airgin3000 Your personal opinion.
@@airgin3000 ...do you mean it needs to be "higher" (you said wider) if it is going to be that ridiculously wide? If it were, you'd get a pain in the neck looking up. That's the beauty of ultrawides, they are just that. They are not ultra highs.
@@norwegianzound I was thinking the same thing. lol.
@@norwegianzound Taller... Not higher.
@@YuhNinja Taller is of course strictly more correct. However I was using the same context as Air Gin above. He said "wider" and the associated description he would have used is surely "higher". No biggie. Pedantry vs understandability.
Another awesome video! Extremely informative! Good job
+Agrippa Thanks!
They've dropped to around 1,100. I got one. I love it. Got rid of four 23" dells. Never looking back.
So do you recommend me to buy ?
@@wrathgaming6176 RT! Looking to buy this monitor in a couple months time for arounnd 600-700 euros (probably gonna wait for black friday). Or would you recommend buying a newer monitor by that time?

@@king_nas9 im not sure. hopefully good. it hast arrived yet
I got this monitor for $899 new at best buy. I replaced my triple monitor setup with it so in terms of resolution, it's a downgrade. Besides from that, I am extremely happy with this monitor. The monitor is 144hz. It was my first high refresh rate monitor along with adequate HDR support. This monitor also support Gsync with 10 series and RTX graphics card. But only under standard Freesync mode. If you switch to ultimate Freesync mode, you get slight flickering issue. I see people saying this should have higher resolution. For me, it's perfect. It's enough for productivity uses and not too much for gaming so it's easier on the GPU. I have 1080Ti and this monitor is perfect for it. It this monitor was any bigger in resolution, even a 1080Ti would have struggled to maintain above 60FPS on popular games. At the current resolution, I can manage around 70 to 144hz.
How low can I go with this monitor .? Is the hight flexible? Thx
I was thinking of getting this monitor for work (I don't not play video games) would this be a good option for me? I think it would be better than the two monitor set up I have right now as the two monitors I have are not the greatest anyway. My only concern is would it be compatible with the 2020 Mac Mini I was thinking about getting. That has an HDMI connections along with 4 thunderbolt 3 connections. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
Excellent review.
This is the monitor I've wanted but didn't exist until recently. It's like they read my mind
je ferre salty much? There are actually a lot of people that want this setup. No bezel in the middle gives you much more real estate than just having 2 monitors. What are you mad about? Lots of people out there can afford and will enjoy this product.
R J Nobody is gonna buy this shit, it's a scam, look at its price, only two stupids are gonna buy it... you and homingbeacon...
LOL, you're so butt hurt! Lots of people will buy this monitor, just because you can't afford it doesn't mean it's not awesome. Also, it's not the same as 2 25" monitors, it's the same as 2 27" monitors. I'm pretty sure it will come down in price over the next year as well. I just replaced my 2 monitor setup with it and I would never go back.
R J butt hurt? why would I be butt hurt? i'm not the one who is buying it... ¿? your logic is senseless and stupid, you are the perfect target for this scam, and u are no butt hurt, cause that's another thing, you are just stupid
Lol okay. You're the one that's mad about something that doesn't even affect you in the slightest. You sound like you're 12 and yes you are very butt hurt; now run along and go cry yourself to sleep you little internet troll. :)
Gonna go buy 3 of these
The Human Eye I’ll make a triple monitor setup
Are you able to hook them up all together?
Yes Alek... you can have 60 of them as long as your PC is powerful enough
I imagine you'll end up being stuck in a circle, man, haha!

Great review.

Arrival too.
nice review not sold on ultra wide screen yet
I’ve always wanted to take like 10 of these monitors and make a circular setup.
I Love my LC49HG90 Monitor ;)
I had two 1080p monitors since 2013 and I just recently upgraded to it little brother 43" J890 however it lacks in HDaRen't (HDR) 144Hz the 49inch size does sound impressive but the pixel density is horrible at that size for a 1080p.
The one I have is a 3840:1200 and at best a 120hz which is pretty good since most games I do play can't reach that refresh rate. It is a VA panel which very similar to this one with 5ms response time, as opposed to this one's 1ms I was very tempted to buy it, to be honest, but the 1080p I knew the pixel density was going to be bad for the size, the 1200p version is a lot better especially with the verticle resolution so it doesn't feel squashed, honestly I do wish for a 1440p and it would be ideal but for now way better than 1080p.
The lack of FreeSync or G-Sync isn't much of a deal breaker for me but would have been nice to have. I do understand it was made for businesses and data entry, editors etc not for gaming but eh, I just wanted the verticle spacing of that lovely monitor.
nice pc
really love the case
when filiming perhaps add different angles to the setup and when you are actually using the monitor and not just from one 45 degree angle @4:30, perhaps overhead, far away, so that it gives a better impression of environment and setup and not just an empty setup

Would you mind telling me from where to get this stunning wallpaper ?
$1,500 bucks for a monitor... and $1,000 more for a phone...what a time be alive.
This is clearly a more bizarre monitor though. You can just get a decent monitor for $200
its worth it though if you like it this big.
i bought my first pc in 1992 i think, i had a 14 inch monitor...the dream monitor was a trinitron 17 inches 4/3, and i think it was more than 1500$. today you can buy an awesome monitor for 250-400 $. Ok this one is expensive but well it s a unique model. monitors never been so cheap than now. and 1000$ for a phone...yeah you right :)
depends what you need the phone for, if its just a simple smart phone you can have them for 95 dollars.
I have both
Perfect monitor for flight simming.
It's nice but im in love with glossy screen.
Bower and Wilkins speakers love them
Yeah, they're great. Such a shame they don't make them anymore.
As a 21:9 user for the last 1,5year... i think this is the next step, but i'll have to wait the prices to go way down
Sad to hear abt the hdr problem. I was so keen to get this monitor, but the hdr problem, and lack of gsync made me think twice
I'm using this portrait mode =)
A remote control to change the input would of been really nice
Need more PPI ! Then i will finally get a monitor like this. The white bleed would also kill me.
Are there any alternatives in 2022 or is this still a perfect choice for usage for example working as a programmer?
It wobbles around like nuts for a premium screen
Think I am going to wait for OLED option if they licence it or straight from LG
please try to play the hateful eight on this monitor and tell me if it fills it completely. The hateful eight was filmed on an extremely wide lense, even my 21:9 ultrawide had black bars on top and bottom.
quick question. how were you able to measure its brightness(nits)
WoW these 500 euros B&W MM1 speakers on the background omg. They are the best pc speakers ever. And after 30 years will be collectibles
You're not wrong. Bought a spare pair when I realised they'd been discontinued. Such a shame as there's nothing else quite like them.
@@TechyTalkUK trust me after 20 years these would be way to expensive to sell. Also these have the Nautilus tweeter. How many GPUs do you need to play crysis in ultra mode on this thing tho...
Sorry to disturb, but can you advise how you get the monitor to work on multi-display mode, tried to load the drivers and use the software, but the multi-display mode highlights for 3 seconds and then disappears again...any ideas?
plz start ETS2 on this monitor plzz
No VESA mount? What kind of GPU would you recommend to drive this 3840x1080 wide boy at 144hz? That's still 4 million pixels despite the 1080p vertical resolution...
In the manual it says that PBP is only compatible with Windows. Do you know whether it also works with MacOS High Sierra or PS4?
For the dual input, can I copy from a program in one computer and paste in a program in the other computer? Thank you.
No. It works like two different monitors in dual mod
2 years later found a deal with 599€ I'm more than happy to take it with that price. 900€ less than originally.
Same, i find it to 599% now and i bought it. Are u happy?
I can see if you are serious into racing games or possibly flight games this would be excellent for that. Other games not so sure it would be ideal. 1440p would be better.
What port are you using to connect to the monitor?
What speakers are you using?
acer x34a and asus PG348Q are good buys for NVIDIA GPU.
What would u guys buy ?
Nice review, but bring up the audio a bit, it was a tad low
+Samuel Lee Thanks, noted.
Samuel Lee can agree
it is not a nice review, because it does not test latency of the display.
as latency is the most important thing about a monitor for gamers.
while techytalk isn't alone with this, it still needs to be pointed out!
Latency isn't the most important thing for gamers. It's the most important thing for SOME gamers. Don't confuse your priorities for those of others.
@santiago draco
nope, all else being equal it is the most important thing objectively.
it is the time it takes for your actions being shown in screen, the higher the latency the slower your reactions the worse it feels, the worse u performance, it is the most important stat for gamers, only because manufacturers don't mention it and so called "reviews" on youtube don't either doesn't change that, real reviews like from prad test latency!
Where did you get that wallpaper?
Does this monitor accept a 4k signal? Meaning does this thing take 4k and super-sample it down to 3840x1080? There's an LG 2560x1080 monitor that's able to do this and was wondering if this thing would be a suitable replacement for a TV.
Nice review, too bad the monitor doesn't seem very competitive.
Please .how high is the monitor in his lowest position? Great reviews thank you
About 16 inches fully compressed.
@@RD-jp4zs thanks alot😄
I just bought this monitor but back ring of the monitor is not glowing. Any idea why?
that’s what she said!!!!!!!
I bought the new iMac Pro 18 core 128 gig of ram, but I really want to not use it for the monitor but rather connect it to the new Samsung C49HG90 49" QLED Curved monitor. And not use the iMac at all for the screen. Is this possible? I use Logic Pro X as a music producer and just want the long big screen. I'm thinking if you advise it will work, I could hide the iMac under my studio desk. My concern is will the iMac work with the Samsung and allow it to be the main screen and not use the iMac screen at all. Please advise.
What kind of graphics card would I need to adequately run this monitor?
With a braket that keeps the movement
Can u make a video with Far cray3/4 ,batlefield 1,Need for sepeed 2015 pls?
I had hoped to do a "games demo" video of this monitor but just didn't have time before it was collected again by Samsung. The only one of those games I can vouch for working is Battlefield 1, though I'm sure all the others will work fine too.
4:22 can it play on csgo with 4:3 so the figure can be stretched, or not?
Is it possible to supersample (downsampling) this monitor?
I'm quite a newbie when it comes to discussing about monitors and its specs - but how do you think this monitor will work with PlayStation 4 PRO? Would it also provide great performance? Or there are things I should be aware of? And what about PS4 games, does it support such big resolution? Thanks for answer!
PS4 Pro will only support 2160p and 1080p, both of which are 16x9 aspect ratio while this monitor is much wider. So you'll either have black bars on the sides, or have an extremely stretched image.
isnt 20000:1 the dolby vision standard ? full hdr10 is already good imho. Keep in mind blurays are treated at 100 nits aswell
Holy hell. What a panel!! 😱
Eujinroshi hell cant be holy
not practial, you need a whole table for it
Juju Rellama there are plenty of desks out there that will fit it just fine.
R J so no one in Asia, or Europe will buy it, they all have 6 by 6 feet flats
Well I would say this is definitely geared more towards people in NA since plenty of people have 2 or 3 monitor setups. Just because it's not practical for you doesn't mean its not practical for me. Obviously this monitor will be a bit of a niche market right now, but I would imagine it will get more adopted as time goes on. Everyone wants bigger if they have the room.
What is the keyboard model number used in the video?
Left a like just because of that Fightstar album cover. Great Review though, except perhaps you could try and be less monotonous. ;)
Ha! Had no idea they'd used it too. I shall work on my voice. :D
Are you Richmond?
And some have a measly AND paltry pitiful 1080p vertical resolution but I guess that is good for gamers
Anjaaaayy....
Those wide screens are getting too thin! They should increase a little in height if they gonna stretch them this much.
This is a 32:9 monitor, not a 21:9
I agree.I run a 16:10 and would love to see a 21:10 monitor.
@@dealwolfstriked272 32:10 as well

will youtube movies come out right on that 49" screen?
Does the circular vesa wall mount come with the monitor as no vesa mount out there is circular to fit it?
yes
How do I connect to my desktop, I tried HDMI, and not working?
i saw xiaomi 49 super ultra wide for 750 eur on gearbest
This or (3x) Dell S2716DG 27-inch G-SYNC 165Hz 2560x1440 Gaming Monitors? Both are the same price and I hear the viewing angles are still decent with the Dell even though its TN. I feel you get a better value/Price for performance with the 3x Dell's. Only if the Super Ultrawide had Gsync and 1440P res and height was a few inches higher it would be a harder decision.
Is it requires CPU OR INBUILT CPU FOR THIS MONITOR.
Wait... is it 4K? And does it support console gaming?
Techy talk does it still worth buying this monitor? I will be using it for Mac as external monitor, but I think 1080p is lower resolution and I will have problem with the text. Is it good to be used with Mac as external monitor?
It's very hard to judge. I don't know what your needs are. If you just want a larger screen for comfortable desktop use, this monitor is overkill - it's huge! And smaller, higher resolution screens will be much better for reading text (any 34in, 3440x1440 screen would be better). I'd recommend this screen more for gaming and watching video, where you can really sit back and take in the huge screen. Or for if you have some specialiat need for such a large, relatively low resolution screen. Plus, it's still very expensive. You can get 34in screens for half the price.
@@TechyTalkUK thank you very much for your reply, my needs are using it for work, watching videos, writing documents using many browsers side by side. As I work from home, My only concern is does the text look blurry and pixelated as I set closely to the monitor, currently I have 34 inch monitor text look blurry sometimes. I want to know if this monitor have same issue with text. These monitors are expensive but I found a refurbished one for £630 does it worth it?
What resolution is your 34in screen? If it's the same or higher than this screen then, yes, text will still look blurry with this screen. If your 34in screen is only 2560x1080 then consider upgrading to a 3440x1440 34in screen or a higher resolution 49in model like the AOC ag493ucx.
Question for tech heads....
Can this be connected to an imac computer? If so which wire is best. HDMI or thunderbolt?
it's possible to use with mac mini ???
WOW
can you split the monitor so you're playing xbox on one half an watching a movie
on your pc on the other half?
Peter R, yes. I play Fortnite on one end and Warcraft on the other.
Does this thing have built in speakers?
Does it have portrait mode?
6:15 What do you mean by "resolution of 2 24" displays" O.o?
Also
>50cm
>normal viewing distance from this monitor
Pick one.
Nearly all 24inch monitors are 1080p (1920 x 1080) while nearly all 27inch monitors are 1440p (2560 x 1440). As such the resolution of two 24inch monitors is 3840 x 1080, whereas two 27inch monitors (i.e. the size of this monitor) should be 5120 x 1440.
As for the normal viewing distance, 50cm is about the normal viewing distance for any given monitor on a typical desk. More broadly it's somewhere between 40 and 80cm depending on size/resolution/desk layout etc.
Wie tief geht der Ständer runter? .Brauch ihn fast unten an der Platte .lg
I purchased this monitor today, less for gaming but more for productivity. I was wondering if I break the screen up for multiscreen productivity. I need to have atleast 6 different screens at any one time.
Samsung has its own Easy Setting Box software for splitting up the screen. I believe this supports at least 6 screens though I didn't actually try it myself. www.samsung.com/sec/consumer/dwonload/EasySettingBox_v1.0.24_2016_03_29.zip
Easy box supports 6 screen in 2 lines of 3
If i have a gtx 1060 graphic card will i run this monitor or i will have lag
The moment your eyes start hunting for bezel in the middle of the screen...
Would you say this is good for someone who plays a few fps game but primarily simulators like farming sim and euro truck simulator
Yes, very much so. I wouldn't recommend it if you're more into competitive FPS (CoD, Apex Legends, CSGO, etc) but for only occasional use and with less competitive games it would be fine, and it's ideal for a big view in sims.
@@TechyTalkUK I would use it for rainbow six siege, but if I don't like wide view can I change it to have black besels on the sides to make the aspect ratio normal 16:9?
I actually can't remember if this monitor supports that. I think it does but it's a surprisingly rare ability in monitors - most stretch the image out.
@@TechyTalkUK yeah well it is what it is, thanks for your help and replying even tho it was on a video of yours from 2 years ago.
I'm just looking for options for ultrawide monitors to get at some point if you have any other good options I would love to hear about them a little bit if you have the time if not thanks anyway
I don´t understand.
If it is a 49" 3840x1080 howcome is not the same size as 2x 27" 1920x1080.
I was thinking of using it as wind shield and 2x27" 1080p as doors...
But your are saying that it´s the same size as 2x24".
+Slobshot Blurp ? It's the same size as 2x27 but resolution of 2x24.
Yeah, I'm still confused about this. A 1080p 27" monitor will have the same pixel density of this monitor, it would make no sense otherwise because it's the same vertical res, twice as wide, at the same screen size in inches (or so close it doesn't really matter). It's confusing to even bring up a 24" monitor. I have to assume he's comparing it to a higher resolution 27" monitor, maybe a 1440p?
Apologies for the confusion. In my head a 27inch monitor is 1440p as that's the only resolution I'd consider buying and recommend at this size - any lower resolution and I'd recommend a smaller screen. It does ultimately come down to personal perference but, for me, I'd much rather this screen was the size of two 24inch, or maybe 25inch, displays. For it's size it just doesn't offer enough resolution, for my liking.
LOL so a bigger display is ok for 1080p because its wider? The PPI is still the same trash it would be on a 27" 1080p monitor \o/
ramair325
I have always had a 27" 1080p monitor. So I have 0 problems with it.
This or a high end Sony 4k TV of the same size 4 gaming?
Trying to justify buying this monitor....when I have a perfectly good 24" 1920x1080 monitor - would be badass JUST for web browsing.
