  • I planned a wonderful guitar shootout between an old shredder and a brand new Chinese copy. Which one will be best after a little TLC?
Well, there is one thing you need to produce a two guitar shootout. TWO GUITARS! I bought the used one from a pawn shop a week and a half before the shootout. I bought the copy two and a half weeks prior. But, I only selected this eBay seller because they had a USA stock, and this guitar could be shipped to me in three days. Well, it is three weeks and I don't even have a tracking number of the new guitar. They lied to me. They had no US stock. I am willing to bet they are shipping it from China as we speak.
    I am UPSET!!

You have to be careful on eBay. There are some great sellers, and then there are the other side. Feedback helps quite a bit, but you have to make sure the feedback is on something similar. Having feedback from selling one million Q-tips isn't the same as having feedback as a seller of real musical equipment.
They tell me I will have the guitar before the weekend. If so, I will do a quick video before the giant guitar shootout.

I feel ya bro, I've been playing for 30+years and have had a few bullshit deals on the internet One of them on eBay. One of the deals that I got burned on was on Facebook marketplace. They said it was a Les Paul for $199 and they had it listed as typical specs you would get on a Les Paul said it was a real Gibson! That one I should have known but I used a credit card and PayPal thinking I would be protected. So it took approximately 40 days to receive it. It was a toy but it wasn't a Gibson Les Paul It was a Fender Stratocaster. They were trying to be sneaky but like I said it was a Fender strat😅. I also had one on eBay that I never received and I did the same thing as far as credit card and PayPal. Got my money back. Over the years I have had a few not work out right!!!!👎 Good video people probably already know about it and it's just whether it's happened too many times or not. I won't do it again. But I have wondered about getting a custom one meaning a Chibson type guitar. Supposedly some are pretty good quality but it can be hit and miss! I'm sure it's happened to a lot of people! Good video Thanks bro!!!✌️

When I was a teenager I was trying to sell my first car and I knew it had bad valves and I was asking people, mostly adults, what I should do about it. I wondered if I should offer to reduce the price so they could get it fixed, or somehow work with them to address it. The overwhelming response was 'do nothing, let them see it, let them drive it a little, get as much as you can.' I wondered what kind of person could do that to another person. Apparently lots of people can do those sorts of things to other people.

I'm sorry to hear this. What could you have done any different? The feed back appeared solid. The price was on point. You did you research. Sounds like there was nothing else you could have done. Hopefully, your bank will credit you. I'm looking forward to your video series. I'm sure this project will take alot of time.
    Thanks for sharing.

In the past, I have reached out to the seller previously and clarified; "This product is located in the US, correct?" But, again, I am at the mercy of the seller to tell the truth. Oh well.
This is where businesses like FireFly are great. Yes, the guitars are Chinese copies. (of sorts. They don't copy the logo of the actual guitar.) But the guitar is inspected in the US, and then shipped out the door the same day via a stable shipping company.
Oh well. I think it will be a cool video, and one I wish was around many years ago when I was looking for just the right guitar. The disappointment is I haven't had two days off of work that aren't filled with other projects in years.

Look where the seller acc was registered, mostly these drop shippers aren't acc registered in the country they claim to ship from.

@@dunxy You are absolutely right. I knew the seller had their base in China, but their ad clearly stated shipping from the US and that is was US stock.
They have changed their ads since then. (Which tells me they did read my messages.)
I will give them a few days to produce a tracking number or I will cancel and buy the same guitar from another seller.

    **UPDATE**
    Almost a month after the order is paid and I get the following response;
"Dear friend, please don't worry. Due to the backlog of express delivery, your shipping number has not yet been provided. I will urge the staff to arrange shipment for you as soon as possible. When I have the shipping number, I will send it to you immediately.Thank you for your understanding."
    Yeah. NOW I feel better.

Same thing happened to me, but with cheap (ish) earbuds. Listed as 3 day local delivery, but it's been over a month. Got the tracking number though.

Why not reject the ebay guitar and get your money back?
