      Right. Open pores with warm water, cleanse. Cold to close them, moisturize.

      Technically pores on the skin don't "open" or "close" and it's recommended to use like warm water (not too hot and not too cold) but it's so pleasing to think our pores can open and close with the temperature of water 😂

    • @shellyferguson7142
      @shellyferguson7142 Před 4 lety

      I'm glad other people said that....but other's have their opinion on the pore thing. Heat opens and cold closes. But anyway!

    • @GreatMindsSeekTruth
      @GreatMindsSeekTruth Před 4 lety +20

      True for hair, not skin. Cold water only helps your skin from producing excess oil. Steaming skin helps it stimulate oil glands. I’m a hairdresser & the hot water opens your hair cuticle & then cold water seals it.

  • @LK-zc9ho
    @LK-zc9ho Před 4 lety +79

    That is actually a myth, no one's pores can be opened or closed. Warm water just loosens up the dirt in the pores but it isn't the key to getting unclogged pores and it doesn't do very much for the skin. Although it is true that water that is too hot will dry the skin out over time! But cooler water gives a luxurious and soothing feeling to the skin though it is all about preference. Lukewarm/cool/medium temperature water is best for the skin overall but then again its all about preference. Just trying to help and you're gorgeous girl!

    Enjoyed the video.... just a FYI, cold water tightens the skin, warm water and steam will open pores. Your dry patches were most likely a result of your barrier being compromised.... your skin will benefit more from using warm water, allowing your serums to penetrate deep into the skin. ❤️

    • @emleecee
      @emleecee Před 4 lety +8

      Jessica Ashley yeah cold water actually tightens/closes (to an extent) the pores; super important to rinse with cool water if you’re trying to minimize or treat dry or dehydrated skin. Water that’s too hot/warm is a quick ride straight to trans epidermal water loss ville. But I mean as long as she’s doin it that’s really what matters😊

    I love this video, for those who are questioning the cold water, try luke warm water. Hot water will dehydrate your skin. Luke warm water will loosen the dirt without stripping the natural oils from your skin.

    • @ttbsbeautytv
      @ttbsbeautytv Před 4 lety +1

      This is what happens with hot water, it actually Open's your pores but , you will notice this
      You sweat after Worth's
      Loose some oils to the surface
      Then those oils later clogs your pores.
      And you start to break out cause your face will tend to produce some sebums .

    Cold water closes your pores. Wash and rinse with warm water. You want your pores open while washing so your cleanser can actually get in there to work. You also don't want to rinse with super cold water because your pores will close with dirt still trapped inside. You will close your pores with the toner/ essence step because it's cold.
