This RCA Drive In Speaker was held together with masking tape. Can I restore it?

After acquiring this vintage RCA-branded drive-in speaker, I discovered that the unit was held together with masking tape. So I decided to repair the damage, replace the internals, rewire the unit, and give this shoddy-looking speaker a fresh paint job.

In the 60's, I screwed a drive-in speaker like that to the damper knob on my old Indian Chief motorcycle. Old Plymouth radio was mounted to rear fender. Had a vibrator power supply running off 6-volt bike battery. Nowadays stereo radio/cd player is an option on motorcycles.

that is a bad spray job it looks like a child has done it, you need to re do that properly
