I don't believe that every player that talks about being mentally drained is lying, however, they're some few guys who definitely are capping (for example, the player you named). I believe it all comes down to perspective. Working all your life to reach a certain level, thinking it will give you peace and happiness but if you were never happy in the first place, how would you be happy once you attain the desired blessings
This isn't an American sports thing. They earned it by playing great and negotiating
