    One of the first things I learned after I joined my high school jazz band was, "Don't play the bass drum on every quarter note during 4/4 swing." That's what the bass guitar is for. Nothing wrong with using the bass drum to help the song swing.

    he stays out of the way,kicks the band in the butt when he needs to,gets his chops in and gets back to the swing.that is the way its done drive the bus and keep time.game set match

    In this first concert, Gadd And Chambers were out of thier element. Steve Gadd can't swing his way out of a paper bag..

    ...also....these Buddy Rich Memorial Concerts are a wonderful tribute to him but I think a bit more thought should go into each Drummer that is featured and the music and charts should compliment what they do best.....for GOD's sake, make it so...

    He can't SWING his way out of a paper bag...great funk back beat player...there are times when he gets so far behing the "groove" on this he's almost on 1 & 3...kind of sad in way....

    Not every vid ...just the ones that SUCK....Dennis is a Bad-Ass Drummer...this just isn't what he does best...thats all....my ut-most respect for him....he just can't Swing....

    This is not good. He doesnt swing. DC is not by far as good as the other drummers on this concert.
