In this clip, Fab 5 Freddy detailed his interactions with 2Pac, particularly their first interview together on the set of Juice. Fab 5 Freddy talked about Pac's unique ability to connect with and portray the regional characters like Bishop in Juice who was a kid from New York, to his embodiment of the West Coast gangsta ethos he adopted as part of Death Row.
Later, Fab 5 Freddy revealed what some of his favorite interview moments were across the years and his experience directing a music video for Snoop Dogg at his apex. - Zábava
Fab Five Freddy is a huge part of my growing up! I remember staying up late on Friday nights to watch YO! MTV RAPS!!!
TGF25 wrong bro fab five was Saturday mornings. No yo mtv at night. 3-4. Thursday the ed lover dance😞
@@Khambrell Fab 5 Freddy was on Friday Nights! Im from Arizona it would start at 11pm pst. Later moved to Saturday Nights 11pm pst around 95-96. Then replaced by Headbangers Ball around 97. Ed Lover and Dr. Dre where on Mon-Fri 3pm. Fab 5 Freddy was on at nights. He mostly played west coast and harder rap and hip hop, that's why it was on at night.
Yo me to yo!!!! I REMEMBER hauling ass off the school bus to go to my neighbor's house to watch yo MTV raps

Huh
Dondre' Jackson aye man if u can please watch my video Victim I’d appreciate it
Tupac,69,Suge,Nipsey
It's his job as a interviewer to ask these questions, and if he didn't people like you would be in the comment section giving him shit about it.
@Lord Frieza Christ respect the dead or karma will get you eventually.... Hopefully it won't be too painful
Why is this man voice so iconic lol
stefan peoples he sounds so New York.
I love hearing fab 5 freddie talk ... and he's a treasure chest of information !!!
Most definitely!! Couldn't of said it no better!!😎👌 he is our hip hop treasure chest!!
word when he passes he will be looked at as a legend
Once Basquiat's right hand man 😌
He was there from the beginning
2Pac the GOAT
6pac
Forever be the GOAT 🐐🐐🐐💯💯💯
Black don't crack, Fab still looks young. The stories this man has. Fab directed Nas's One Love video.
@Naypalm 100 Yeah I know as it was mentioned in the video.
@Naypalm 100
Lol!!! It happens.
Naypalm 100 I had to stop doing that shit too, lol
Fab5 Freddy is like that super cool smooth uncle that gives you fashion advice and tells you how to get the ladies
Fab 5 Freddy will always be universally cool
Fab 5 Freddy is the dopest hip hop journalist.. He interview cats from inside the culture.. That makes a difference💯✊🏾
If are younger than 30 years old you have NO CLUE how HUGE this man was in the 1990's. This man was massive!! You havent made it till you were interviewed by Fab 5 freddy!
Hip hop should be black owned and have this guy interiewing the new school
💯
Brinson Matthew Hip Hop only belongs to black people?
Racist
Hip hop doesn't have a color smh
The living MTV ICON!! All hail Fab 5 Freddy!!! Him interviewing 2Pac will always be the biggest highlight of his career. Fab to this day has that youthful energy!
The biggest highlight of his career is the Wildstyle movie and bridging the gap between punk rock culture and Hip Hop. Fab 5 is literally responsible for hip hop being on television, he brought it to MTV
💯💯💯 Treach(Close friend BEFORE & after BIshop/Juice ): People sometimes are like, “I know ‘Pac before Juice and he was cool and then he turned into Bishop.” Nah. We were in the projects. We would go get weed, go to parties. THERE WAS SO MUCH TUPAC PUT INTO THE BISHOP ROLE. It wasn’t like he was stepping outside of his boundaries. He put all of his pain from growing up-moving state-to-state and seeing different environments. A lot of his family was getting killed or were on the run. He put all of his hurt up into that so that was undeniable❗💯
Real talk most people say oh that bishop Character swallowed the real pac I'd argue that bishop role help to highlight and exacerbate traits of pac's personality that we're already their
💯💯💯
Well said
@Jamal Vines PAC shot 2 cops..That's still the most Gangsta shit done by a rapper "til this day" Deontay Wilder voice
Jamal Vines man shut up nigga dnt nobody kno pac but his close fam
I'm just glad that he's giving this definite legend of hip hop a chance to speak and longer than 3 minute clips there is so much knowledge in this man's history 👊
Panthers, pimps, pushers, and thugs eh yo that’s my family tree I got nothing but love.
-2 Pac
My family tree consist of drug dealers thugs and killers 2pac
Straight out of Oakland, California
R u still down.. My shit oh O4L

Sounds like oakland
Fab 5 is a living legend dude hung out with Jean-Michel Basquiat
I remember watching Yo MTV Raps with him interviewing NWA
JAMAICANGOLD567 Along Side Keith Herring Amongst Others
JAMAICANGOLD567 i was with nwa that day TK Kirkland
That Pac interview was the first time Pac mentioned thuglife and explained what it was.
Different interview my guy
@@stretchbk131 no its not the one where he's in the studio with Coolio and Wino
where he was wearing those thug life overalls
I know the interview that youre talking about but that's not the interview that they're referring to here.
@@stretchbk131 Ok you know what I haven't seen that interview in about 25 years but if I recall Tupac did a freestyle at the beginning of the show where he was naming everyone in the room.
Much better than yesterday's snippet. And the 5 is definitely appreciated vlad. Some of us really live this culture my dude. Fab is still a pioneer and griot of the highest order regarding this thing of ours. Big up to Fab 5 Freddy and those Originators that keep it true. Can't wait to see the rest.
Fab5😎 Freddy Is Definitely A Livin Legend🕺🏾After All He's Done 4
Hip Hop🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤 (U Gotta Give Him Props🤝🏾!!!!!)
Bishop was really me. Tk-Kirkland
😩😩😂😂😂😂😂
Really good interview, props to Vlad. Especially that he is not yelling over the person he is interviewing.
Tupac's publicist, Karen Lee (seen in the link video), as well as his close homie, E40, have both said people are mistaken thinking Pac was Bishop or tryna be. Pac even said Bishop was a psychopath
Tupac acted like a physcopath after he filmed juice. He Became Loud ANDROID Obnoxious For No reason.
@@deepstate3358 damn
Exactly. Bishop turned on everyone. Pac was loyal to a fault.
Tupac was more about the art of war how to defeat his opponents not the damn bishop character he was militant as hell
People just dumb asf, Pac was not always on 10. He turned up just like any 25 year old would do. Lights camera action. Niggaz really be trying to play Pac like he was a 33 year old man. He was human and had faults like us all.
I cannot believe he will be 60 years old this year...I thought he was 42!
I thought he was in his 50s
Fab 5 Freddy is real hip hop. Much respect to him. Salute!
always a great pleasure and informative to see and hear FAB 5 FREEDY great energy / inner G .
2pac lived in N.Y. until he was 14 so he wasn’t fronting in Juice. He was complex and lived in a lot of places!
Exactly he was east coast to me. I got totally East coast vibe. That's why he was so mad because he's from the east coast and muthafuckas was frontin on him
Vlad loves talking about 2pac
Need a F5F children’s audio book telling hip hop stories lol
Fab Five Freddy!!! Hip Hop legend...
"Fab 5 top 5" interviewer of all time
Not many Gs can say they have been namechecked in a Blondie song
what song?
RAPTURE!
FAB FIVE FREDDY IS THE GOD FATHER OF REAL JOURNALISM🙏🏿
Dam this dude didn't age a bit..looks the same from MTV Raps ..good ish
THEHEAVYSPITTERSDVD. Black don’t Crack
Taking great care of himself and lost a lot of friends
I want people to STOP Comparing 2 pac to the character Bishop HE WAS NOT Bishop. Bishop was a super shady mentally unstable teen, he killed his best friends and tried to set up another friend for the murders. 2PAC Never did no shit like that jus say he took on the gangster persona for the rest of his life after the movie if that’s what you’re goin to say. Saying he was “Bishop” is Disrespect to 2pacs real character in REAL LIFE he did a lot of great things for people in real life
SteazyAss Bucky He said in an interview in the Source in 93 that sometimes I feel like I played “ myself”. But I know what you mean
@@abuabdullah731 pac was Bishop but to a certain extent, pac was Bishop, he just shed light on that side of him
Pac actually admitted in a magazine back in the day, he added a lil bit of Bishop to his personality. Think Detail Magazine in 93.
This dude has managed to look the same for 30 yrs wow!!
Lol
u need glasses, blind bitch!
Biggie AND Craig Mack were in that episode. R.I.P. to both of them.
This man look like it's 1988
2pac said it himself that if he's going to claim to be from somewhere he's going to claim Oakland cause that's where he found his true self!
Tupac said that he "got the game from Oakland". Never heard nuthin bout this true self stuff u speak of
Fab 5 needs to write a book!
He has a couple, actually.
Its so nice to hear these stories. I remember the exact scene his is referring to regarding LOTNS and Busta Rhymes on that promenade... Back then, Yo MTv Raps was the show you rushed home to see by 5pm or maybe it was 3pm, I forgot, but no matter what was going on in our day it was the highlight of the afternoon.
How Fab 5 Freddy still looks the same.
Dope interview. Lotta inside perspective
I just spazz out real quick 😂😂😂😂 he so cool
dope interview!
Fab 5 Freddy talk in all caps
This man is a living encyclopedia of hip hop, the entire culture, from the very beginning until present. Thank u fab 5 for everything from wild style to yo mtv raps and beyond. The culture we love wouldnt be the same without u
Straight gem 💎
I remember that awkward ass moment of leaders of the new school when brown and busta energy was bad lol HS days
@Da Royal General I remember me and friends talkin about that shit at school wondering were they playing or serious lol sad break up tho. The group was dope

I remember that nwa interview on the back of flatbed truck riding the streets of Compton eazy e telling freddy not to wave at the people like that Because they were throwing gang signs
Tupac was from NY/east coast and the West coast he literally was Bay area Pac during the making of juice.
Well tbf fab didn't know Tupac before juice, so he doesn't know what pac was like then. But yeah, the bay is where Pac really started to evolve.
Pac moved to the bay in 1988. Juice was filmed in 1991 how does someone become a bay area nigga in 3 years? 😂

Wow. I Did not know that fab 5 Freddy directed videos
Fab 5 freddy is a cool dude and was very important to hip hop on camera and behind the scenes salute.
He got the chance to meet many legends of their craft on personal levels.. Basquiat, Keith Haring,Warhol, Pac, Biggie , and many many more... such an amazing life... I could listen to him tell stories forever...
I had no idea Fab did What's my Name. Maaaaaan salute to the legend
protect this master of the culture at all cost
Dude is a legend..from the downtown lower east side scene with hip hop and artists like basquiat to wildstyle to directing gangstars just to get a rep and other classic hip hop videos to yo mtv raps..salute!!
You can go back in the history of hip hop culture and Fab 5 Freddy is right there.
for those that don't know FAB 5 Freddy was the first Hip Hop media star, most well known as the host of Yo! MTV Raps television show...but long before Hip Hop was on tv, Hip Hop was only a small scene in the NY ghettos that really only started getting mainstream buzz because all the graffiti pieces that were "bombed" on subway trains that regular people would see and get mad about...FAB 5 Freddy was a well-known graffiti artist that introduced the NYC underground Art and Fashion and even underground Punk scene to Hip Hop and brought the worlds together to create a hybrid creative scene that earned Hip Hop respect as an actual art form. Fab 5 Freddy was friends with Basquiat, Versace, Andy Warhol etc. basically anyone that was a top level creative artist that spent time in New York wanted to be down with him. Dude is a legend and really helped Hip Hop gain respect worldwide before it made anyone in the mainstream any money....before the HYPE BEAST concept even existed there was Fab Five Freddy creating a buzz for Hip Hop in Europe and Japan. Fab had an impact as a rapper, Artist, promoter, filmmaker..and this only scratches the surface...dude deserves a movie about his life..."Fab Five Freddy told me everybody's fly..." (from Rapture by Blondie)
i actually drove pac to his first movie set . Tk Kirkland
Huh
Dondre' Jackson ?
TK literally started everyone’s career.😂😂😂

Yes, he did.
He sure did
Juice and Death Row had a huge time difference between em....
Lord Frieza Christ Getting shot, going to prison, shooting cops is all an role huh 😂 u weird ass niggas need a better hobby than hating
@Lord Frieza Christ Bishop was a cold blooded killer, Pac wasnt. And didn't claim to be. Also Pac did poetic justice after juice, how did he manage to play that character so well If he was still in the character of Bishop. And what life are you claiming pac wasn't about. Because Pac was shot, went to prison and jail multiple times. He shot 2 white dudes, and died by the gun. So what life wasnt he about?
Ryan Reaves Comedy not really...92-95 he was in jail 94...
@@fuegodibiase5831juice was filmed in 91 and released in January 92,
Pac went to prison I think in feb 95,so that's 3 years later.
fab only met Pac twice during that whole time,so he clearly didn't really know Pac.
it wasn't bishop that changed Pac in some ways,it was the sexual assault, getting shot and going to prison.
@@NGT4LIFE Fab 5 Freddy is Pac hater too he said Pac lied on Quad studio shooting and Stretch was telling The truth.

Gosh darn it, why are there only three interviews with Fab 5 Freddy? Post more damnit!!!
Tupac didn't have to act like he was from NY because he's from NY
Facts on above the rim he got the razor in the mouth prop from cats he hung around on New York trains when he was younger
Exactly!, Tupac hero’s were Big Daddy Kane, KRS one, Rakim , Chuck D And his first two albums all had that New York Public Enemy sound
Anybody notice that awkward moment where Freddys talking about the Snoop Dogg music video and Vlad's like "I remember that, classic classic interview" lmfao
