I always thought the idea that Fluttershy stayed some kind of were-vampire-pony for the rest of the show was interesting
I think it would've been cool if she could transform back and forth whenever she wanted
Honestly the flutterbat comeback was only in the official comics
Could be just a permanent reminder and nothing more. Imagine a scar, or for lack of a better example coming to mind, Ana's streak of white hair from Frozen
Same when I thought "What if Hao from Kung Fu Sock kept some of Manipulens' powers" (for context, Hao got possessed by Manipulens, the main antagonist who has powers, and like 10 episodes later he freed himself motivated by the protagonist and pretty much all he ended up with was a grudge against Manipulens).
Seriously it would've been really cool if he had telekinesis or something or if he could use the same dark magic Manipulens used but only in emergencies

Even if it was during a dinner party and her friends see her eating an apple and they notice her fangs.
First they ask discord, who is present if he's playing a joke on them or something. Only for him to be all "I didn't do that?!"
Then reveal that she still has bat features, but all that spell reversal did was make it controllable.
Or OOO could have had the form return in the finale, have the Mean 3 win draining all magic. Resulting in her Bat to come out through her anger.
Maybe seeing Discord disappear due to the lack of magic, could have been so much cooler!

This episode is the one that made Rarity one of my favorites. She's got a top tier voice, and she's genuinely one of the sweetest character's in this show. Like you said, shes a fashion goat, and growing up, i wanted to be just like her.
When I was younger I didn't care for Rarity that much but as I got older I came to really respect her as a character, she's a self made business woman who doesn't let the pressures of industry change who she is. Plus, I really love some of her designs in the show, she's everything I could hope to be as a creative. I really like to see her take opportunities and to see her business progress with the show. I love this episode because it put her element to the test, even under pressure she realised where she went wrong and made amends, I love that about her.
Fluttershy is officially a vampire for the entire rest of the show, now XD
I'm pretty sure Rarity is more generous in that single song than in the entire show before it
After the Flutterbat episode, it was also kind of that thing when they left off with the Mirror Pool episode with Pinkie Pie. We may or may not know if thats the real Pinkie and we may or may not know of Fluttershy is still part vampire fruit bat. They never talked about it in the future 😔

I do like the episode with Rarity, it's part of a minor arc to show the 6 in their designated element and seeing the "ugly side" of it and bring up doubt to it, but still persevere through that to to overcome and succeed.

I loved the Bats episode and I still do! A very small detail that I don't think anyone else really points out is that Flutterbat's cutiemark changes from the regular butterflies into three bats instead, it's a detail that I never really hear being talked about at all. 🐱
Bats are absolutely adorable but they carry some serious diseases, and you shouldn't go around touching them if you're not a professional.
It's generally advice to go get checked for rabies if you find bats in your apartment, even if you've never seen them before and didn't touch them, because if you've been living in the same space with them there's a small chance that you've gotten scratched at some point without noticing. Once you start noticing the symptoms of rabies, it's already too late to cure it.

Rarity's word carries WEIGHT among those in the know. She was able to get an entire exclusive performance just off of agreeing to work on the next production. If she vouches for someone to be a perfect fit for a clothes job, _you believe her._
I recommend watching "literal versions" of mlp songs. They're so funny and the literal version of Stop the Bats is one if my favorites

Congrat Scoot, For you have just seen Flutterbat one of the most iconic versions of Fluttershy! She could really pull off the vampire bat pony design!!! And of course the "Bats" song instantly became one of my favorite season 4 songs!
As for "Rarity Takes Manehattan" it became one of my favorite season 4 episodes, Because it's the very first time that we see a new location in Equestria that's only been mentioned in the series! and "Generosity" instantly became a fan favorite song!
Manehattan was a very interesting city, Especially because it's literally based off of New York City! And everyone instantly adored Coco Pommel, She was so cute! But suri Polomare was instantly hated but I for one think she made a good one time enemy for Rarity! Speaking of Rarity her element of harmony was literally put to the test in this episode, But at least she learns that while it's good to be generous You don't want to be too generous because as Suri proves it's all too easy to take advantage of too much generosity.

They do understand that she’s stressed, that’s why they helped her. They also don’t have to tolerate being treated like shit. They literally missed the show because she worked them until they were exhausted and did nothing but yell at them and insult them because they wanted a break, which if she had just given them a break to begin with they wouldn’t have overslept. There’s a difference between getting help from your friends and you taking advantage of your friends. Working them to death when they offer to help you is taking advantage of them. L Rarity.

I get saying "all Rarity episodes are kinda the same", but at the same time, I think Rarity has the most consistent character story since her episodes mainly focus on one specific thing: her buisniss. We get to see it grow bit by bit with each Rrity episode, besides a handfull of outliers, which is kind of satisfying!

Funny thing is, Fluttershy is correct about the bats helping the trees grow stronger. On top of spreading apple seeds, Bat guano (aka their poop) is a natural fertilizer that adds nitrogen to the soil. Nitrogen is good for root and leaves of plants.

5:00 at my grandparents cabin our tin roof extends ever so slightly beyond the wood so we have a bunch of bats living there.
I love them! Watching them swoop down at night and fly about catching misquotes is so amazing to see. And they never run into us!
I only fear the sick ones on that don't go up into our tin roof to sleep cause that means they're sick and probably carrying some disease. Never touch a bat!
But overall, they're great creatures and I love sharing a portion of the cabin with them😊

She really did. All of Fluttershy's points where about the ecological niche that the bats serve in nature... but none of that applies to an orchard. Nothing she mentioned is at all applicable to how apple orchards operate. For one, apple trees aren't grown from seeds, but rather cuttings of existing trees that you know are good fruit bearers, and even they did use seeds... you wouldn't want extra trees just sprouting up all over the place, you need them to be organized and with enough space between the trees for all of them to flourish. The only time they'd ever actually need new trees anyway is if they were expanding into a new field that hadn't already had trees planted in it, or if some disaster wiped out a large portion of their existing trees. So nothing Fluttershy said about the bats is valid for the situation, while AJ has historical facts to back up that the last time the bats showed up, the town had a minor famine because of it.
@@7Seraphem7 Hmmm I'm gonna have to disagree here. AJ's points (in the song) were all emotion based and not really fact based (were a bit "fact" based at first). Her emotions made it seem like she had the better points. Also the trees not being grown from seeds and rather grafting was never mentioned at all (that is specifically an argument you are making not her so it’s your argument not hers, same thing with needing the orchard to be neat and organized, that is your argument not hers).
Also they can just replant trees grown from seeds that the bats spit out when they get bigger.
And in fact AJ's arguments get worse throughout the song as well. We are talking about the base arguments that were made in the SONG. Not after the fact nor before the song. Just the song. And again arguments she specifically stated and how she stated them.
Ah Bats! The one where it's obvious the writers have no idea how apple orchards work if they expect us to buy that Fluttershy was right in the end, since all of her points about why the bats should stay apply only to the ecological niche in the wild, not to cultivated land like and orchard, and ignore the very real economic damage that they cause.

Isn't Applejack the one who invited the fruit bats in the first place? She had them move in for that rainbow display in the family reunion episode but has the gall to be mad when a stronger variant emerges. I could understand if the bats had decimated the entire place, but it's not like they only grow apples. We've had hints of them growing corn and other produce.
Even if they sell other produce,apples are their primary source of income and losing a lot of their stock could put them at risk financially. She even explained that one year it was so bad they could barely get by.
Also the bats in the episode you're referring to were just fruit bats not vampire fruit bats. I do agree that she should of understood that the animals need to survive and that she shouldn't have peer pressured her friend into doing something she wasn't comfortable with but I also understand why she was distressed.
Thankfully the lesson at the end of this episode was a good one and both applejack and the vampire fruit bats got what they wanted in the end.

Starving the bats is wrong and using magic like band-aid once again, Twilight really needs to learn when to use her magic is Nassery to, he used and when not to use it, Fluttershy was right. And the bats were just hungry. She was right this whole episode and everyone else was short sighted. Messing with the Bats like that they are going to hurt the ecosystems. and forcing them not to eat at all is like forcing them to starve themselves. And forcing Fluttershy to do that was just plain out wrong.

I always hated the resolution to bats episode. Like SERIOUSLY??? You're gonna cry about some pests potentially being useful far in the future when your friend's business is literally being undermined by them RIGHT NOW with no benefit to her? If you really want that "give part of orchard to bats" idea - PAY HER BACK for the losses she and her family will suffer in the time while your little pet project tries to start bringing results. One of the many reasons i despised Fluttershy as a kid, because even then i thought it was a stupid idea
I agree, Fluttershy cared more about the well being of the bats than the problem that they causing Applejack. I mean Fluttershy didn't seem to acknowledge the fact that if the bats kept eating the Apple family's apples then they would have no produce to sell and without produce to sell the Apple family would financially lose everything, Because you know bankruptcy and all that and it's because of that the Apple's could easily lose the farm.
Another problem about the elements they have, Fluttershy's kindness in this episode was selective
Yeah! Especially since like, 'give them a part of the orchard', ok but, they've already taken a huge part of the orchard. And you want to give them MORE?
Even if we assume Earth Ponies have some kind of plant/nature based magic to grow, a growing a whole ass apple tree till it produces apples (esp from a SEED) is going to take a long time, meaning AJ's gonna be unable to do any business for at least a year.
Not giving into peer pressure is a good lesson but, not HERE, when someone's literal livelihood is on the line. They really should have gone with some kind of, 'learning to coexist with the wildlife' message or something.
