I'm so glad to hear a review from someone who actually likes sim racing and that you liked it... just made me even more excited
Yep me too I just upgraded my sim rig about a month ago in anticipation of this game specifically got a whole moza setup and next level racing cockpit
unless it's a payed review rs
He is one of honest reviewer. Unlike paid shills Super GT or Jimmy brothbend which is $ony paid shills Trashtuber. It's so hard to find someone who are honest today because many youtuber are straight Google money slave who make fake "controversy" to instantly gain views because it makes money for them which is awfully pathetic !!!
Sadly Scroogle aka Google is also extremely shady company, they done anything dirty to make people keep staying on this trash website called CZcams trash !!
I am waiting for official release, lets see how it holds up against GT7.
9:56 “it was super easy for me to hit the apex” BLOWS well past the apex 🤣
I thought the exact same thing, love the editor taking an opportunity to poke a little fun! Classic
@@anthonywarne9751 Hahaha
看破不说破😂
Very logical and honest review.
You mentioned the good and the bad in the right way, I was looking for a simracing review of the game and this is it!
Really excited about multiplayer reviews before buying Forza. But rating seems good
@@RonaldRegain The game is pretty much a slightly better GT7 with massively better AI than GT7
It's not ACC or AC super realistic sim racing... it's a GOOD VIDEO GAME with a lot of realism in it... which somehow for sim racing snobs (I own a Fanatec DD wheel btw) is a bad thing and I can't fucking understand why... the game is good and decently realistic, it's very accessible, has A LOT more different cars to drive and is not limited like ACC is for example, it won't make you sell your house to play like iRacing and Multiplayer is done WITHIN THE GAME without outside leagues and sites like LFM and can be accessed easily by all players while offering a fair rating and safety rating to match you with decent drivers .
Overall I think sim racing nuts are being way too... well... nuts... when it comes to new racing games... I just saw a normal everyday dude criticizing the new WRC game's gameplay which has been praised by Kalle Rovampera the current WRC champion as being very realistic and made by Jon Armstrong the current European Rally Champion... and some random dude based on his sim racing experience is calling it unrealistic because it doesn't exactly feel the same as Dirt Rally 2.0, his favorite game...
Just don't listen to overly whiny sim racers... ONLY listen to guys that also have real life racing under their belt as well as sim racing... the rest just talk out of their ass
Terrific game, super fun. I'm 20 hours into it, and I love it. I play the Builder's Cup solo career and the Rivals mode. I dont play online tournaments, but the game needs a permanent internet connection all the same, unfortunately. I recommend a wired connection rather than wireless, as any data interuption might cause the game to get stuck when loading a race.
I've felt connected with every car I've driven so far. It's like I'm one with the car, feels amazing. The control is very good with a regular controller. Cars are responsive and physics feel great around corners. I don't have a wheel, but I might end up getting one just for this game for an even higher sense of involvement.
Improving your car level and pilot level feels rewarding. The more you drive, the better your drive around the tracks, the more points you get and the faster you evolve as you get access to more performance parts and upgrades, which unlock progressively. You need to work your way to the top, and you become a much better driver in the process. I'm at difficulty 5/8 and choose to start the races from the last place on the grid for a bit of challenge. I win all the races with relative ease, so I might need to raise the difficulty to 6/8.
Graphically, I don't like the lack of colours under certain lighting and weather conditions, it all looks washed out, and kind of misty a bit too often. On a clear day, tracks can look great, though. The overall muted colour palette around tracks doesn't apply to cars, which show more vivid colours. Why have Turn10 chosen to go desaturated beyond realistic, I wonder? Maybe a stylistic choice.
I don't care for ray tracing. I find it pointless. Would rather dedicate resources to other aspects of the game, like AI. In real life, there are far less reflections than what RT is trying too hard to emulate. No such thing as a mirror effect everywhere in the real world, except perhaps on a rainy day and a wet road. I do appreciate 60fps, makes a huge difference compared to 30fps, which to me is bordering unplayable and doesn't belong in this console generation. I dont see the point of offering this option in a 12 Tflops system, to be honest.
I noticed something I didnt like in the replays. When braking before the bends, it shows the wheels strangely locking up in the replay despite driving with ABS on, and the brakes dont turn red as they heat up. Looks bad, especially when the wheels stop turning.
The choice of cars is great as it is, but a bit more tracks would be nice. Turn10 say they're working on those, we shall see.
Overall, for what I personally value in a racing game, this is a blast. It strikes the perfect balance between arcade and simulation, and you can easily tweak it one way or another with the aids. I give it a solid 9/10, despite the very muted colour palette, small glitches and required permanent connection to play solo, which in the end don't weigh that much in the scales to me.
this review has me hyped now. looking forward to some great online sessions with mates

Forza Motorsport brings the series back on top. Can’t wait to play
Thank you so much for reviewing it on PC
Leave it to Joe to review the game from a perspective focusing on the fun aspects of the game. Just what I needed!
Thank you for sharing your insightful experience here! I like watching your content. As a sim racer I'm curious if the possibilities of FOV and seating adjustments are the same as in other sim racing titles. This is often not mentioned in reviews. Can you set a FOV lower than 40 degrees? Can you tilt the seat and adjust the distance? Or is it just stupid like in all the other Forza games?
I can't wait any longer after watching this😭
Most comprehensive review I've seen! Can't wait for the wheel settings.
Good review, looking forward to racing tomorrow!
How are the replays? Do the cameras feel natural and hand held or are they digitaly pixelperfect stuck to the center of the cars?
Excellent job with the review, exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks for review. Can You post settings for FFB?
Thanks for the nice review from a simracer point of view. I was glad that obviously your Moza R12 seems to be somewhat supported.
But does anyone with access to the game can tell if the entry level R5 will work?
Jumped on the hardware from Moza in a time where Fanatec was impossible to get and actually I am completely pleased with the performance in ACC or other simracing titels.
But the lack in driver support for e.g. Horizon 5 makes me a bit nervous if I jumped on the right horse.
Works with my SC pro so should be fine. It did have some Moza presets built in.
Very good video!
Can i have your ingame wheel settings today? I'm making a trip to New Zealand and gonna play today. Or some wheel settings ingame that we can start to have fun until the time your vid drops tomorrow.
Tbh it looks decent, sure its not a full on sim, but it looks fun, and has enough simulation elements to potentially give it some longevity.
This isn't remotely sim....
@@CallforthePriest why isn't it?
@@CallforthePriestit's a Sim did you even watch the review

@@CallforthePriest it is designed first and foremost for controller just like gt. that’s not necessarily a bad thing
Great video - nice job!
Does it support triple screen setups?
From a lot a videos i watched about this, seems there's a need for a lot of tweaking with the settings to get the wheel to feel really good
The cars look great and the handling model looks top notch
I spent over 2 hours to test different ffb settings... and it's still not great. It is slow, lack of information when you need to catch the car. So I'm curious to test your settings
Great and well explained review!
Starkes Video Joe! Bin heiss auf dein wheel setting Video. Sub ist raus, hut ab!
Does it have ultrawide/ super ultrawide/ triple monitor support?
+1
I preordered it. Not sure how much I'll love the whole 'carpg' thing, but man it looks great and I LOVE that i works well with both controller and wheel. I have a wheel, but I often don't feel like using it so I really like when games are still playable (and you're able to be good) with a controller. Many sim games you can play with a controller but it's basically impossible to perform well.
I have to admit, I enjoy the carpg elements as it forces you onto a standard car with you swapping parts one by one, so you have to decide what to improve for the next race and you really feel the difference because you only swap out a few parts. In addition, I just got beaten in an online lobby by an incredible gamepad driver so... it seems to work very well haha. - Rene
Great review thanks can't wait to try for myself
14:10 certified game journalist moment
Thanks for this review. I'm about to get a xbox series x mainly to be able to play this game, and I have a question please : I could either buy the console alone or buy it bundled with forza, for a higher price obviously. As I have a relatively slow internet connection and the file size is huge, I'm considering buying the bundle to avoid having to wait ~ 3 days to play it.
But then again if even with the disk version I have to download 100+gb I don't see the point, and might as well get it for free through game pass (which I will be getting either way).
So can anyone tell me how big is the required file size WHEN YOU HAVE THE DISK.
Thanks.
TY for the detailed review!
would have liked qualify in private games thou, great video thx
I haven’t get back to motorsport type of racing since gt 4 and the psp gts era damn happy to get back but this time in forza Motorsport
very very good review mate!

Is the drive hub adapter work ?
The best part about pc is tht you can add shaders and do whatever you want with the graphics
Can you please post up your DD2 settings? I have been messing around with mine and cant get it feeling decent
Need those wheel settings...I played it a bit this morning and liked it but it took ages to dial in the wheel settings to get it feeling even vaguely good. I think I was fighting with the settings to make it work well on a controller.
Video is rendering ;)

Ok now I’m excited. Wasn’t sure yet before
I like playing project cars 2 on my wheel, anyone know how this compares in terms of feel
Hi mate, support for triples and ultrawide?
Not officially, no. But there's a will there's a way! I tested it with a custom resolution, which worked! But the performance was awful, you can imagine :D
As long as the problems that Horizon 5 had at launch with sim hardware aren't present. Fanatec gear needed older drivers to work without completely crashing the game...which deleted all my wheel setting profiles for AMS2, ACC, DR2.0, and F1.
If they didn't carry over the feature from FH5 to rev your engine while purchasing a new exhaust thats a mega L.
great video
I agree with the other comments here, well presented and great that the overall positive review came from another sim racing enthusiast! So excited to play this tonight. You bought yourself a subscription as I will be looking for your FFB settings for my Moza R12 base that you have already dialed in.
Does it have classic supercars like air cooled 911 Turbo (930/964/993), Testarossa, Jaguar XJ220, Countach and such? Those are much nicer to drive than the modern cars, at least on the GT series.
Yep it does
Can’t wait to play this game….🔥😬
great vid but i love how the game on yt is listed as gt7
Cockpit view is meant to be darker though, as the windshield glass has anti-UV coating which should provide a tiny bit of tinting/darkening/filtering of light compared to like a standard glass window.
Uhm... what? Not only is ultraviolet light invisible to the human eye (don't confuse it with the artificial one from forensics tools or similar), but on top not all windshields have anti-UV coats.
A UV filter doesn't make the view darker - again make sure to not confuse this with cameras that need filters to not measure energy outside of the visible spectrum. It's not how the human eye is working. For example you can often easily see infrared light sources with a smartphone camera, but not with the human eye (unless it's low IR LEDs on some surveillance cameras which are supposed to be visible - but the light they emit is so far outside the spectrum it doesn't even light up a room anyway).
So no, it's not anti-UV, IR or whatever - it's very likely just a shader issue or even bug in how they handle glass surface rendering. It happens in many games, or even sims, like DCS and others for example.
Also it could be an "artistically desired effect". They have bright punchy feelgood colors on external cameras - which would be like a drone footage anyway - versus a more toned down and realistic look on the inside. Speculation on my part though.
@@kontoname i didn't ask for your life story. Who said anything about SEEING UV? Roll down your window and look at the anti-UV layer, it is tinted. The light you get in your car is filtered by that, therefore isn't as bright within the car.
Could just be RTAO. Looks like it shadows interiors quite a bit more than having it off
Im so glad its in game pass, planning to buy new wrc game and was on 50/50 with this one, will definitely try it though
I see your fps is over 60,have they changed there mind about the 60fps lock?
Only thing I wanted was starting position based on your track time.
Please release your FFB settings tomorrow sooner than later. I have high hopes in your guidance. Maybe you could also give some advice how to translate your settings to another manufacturer (Fanatec CSL DD) in case you changed the Moza base settings. Thank you very much in advance
We try to release as early as possible tomorrow! We just confirmed the settings also work on other wheels. -Michel
@@OverTake_gg sounds great. Thanks for your feedback. :)
Is there any drag racing?
So, it is a game. I am not sure it can be called a sim. And the grapgics were designed for xbox. On pc, there should be a difference. I can't wait to drive it on thursday.
Good review although you didn’t mention the sounds of the cars. A good game can be ruined if it has bad audio. Can you tell me if the cars sound realistic or not please. Thank you 😊
Horizon 4, ahem.
@@andipajeroking horizon 5 has way better sounds than 4
That was the sole reason why I played forza over gran turismo. GT at the time sounded like they grabbed the audio from the ps2 games.
The cockpit cam looks very inconsistent. Like some cars look like a good seating position while overs like the civic type r look weird
9am release rule!!😂 seen about 50 so called reviews pop up. Well funny
I need to adjust the wheel settings cause the defaults were absolutely horrendous. Felt like I'd had a power steering failure 😂
That was also the case for everyone of us, after adjusting it it felt really good. You can find Jonas settings in our specific video. If you want to ty some other settings, you can also just give us a shout on discord and such and we can provide those from other OverTake members. - Rene
I bought my first ever wheel two weeks ago and this was the first game I played with it. I honestly thought I was just too bad to play it, I couldn't even make one corner. Then I went on CZcams and got some settings and the difference was crazy. Does this happen with a lot of other racing games?
@@Adam-zh4hm it's pretty common. The "out the box" settings often don't suit the majority of wheels for whatever reason. ACC for example has a whole guide on wheel settings as every wheel has a different sweet spot for settings.
Dose the New Zealand truck still work?
Is it compatible with moza r5 wheel?
Can you play coop with a friend, also against ai in private multiplayer? This was a disappointingly omitted feature in FM7. So weird how you could play against bots in a private match by yourself but as soon as a friend would join, suddenly ai aren’t allowed anymore.
gt7 cant do thst either😢
how did you not touch on TRIPLE SCREEN SUPPORT at all?! You’re talking to a sim racing community that is a huge part of it, I understand it’s not all of us but a lot of us do use triples !
Yeah and no mention of multiple usb device support either
Also starts talking about the graphics straight up.. ok?
Was about to post the same. Shocked he didn’t mention it at all. But I guess he’s one of these content creator racers who don’t even run triples as they only care about what they stream. Very disappointing. Will go elsewhere for reviews and sim racing content in the future.
Also, can we adjust FOV and camera/seat position? Does it work with 32:9 ultrawides? GSync/VRR support? If any of those is missing, it's no good for my setup, like the last Forza games (no in-car camera adjustment).
@@alteh7 From the Forza Motorsport Side:
Multi-USB
Multi-USB is supported in Forza Motorsport. If you are using multiple devices with separate USB ports, the game may not automatically recognize them, or may only recognize one. For example, your wheel may work, but your pedals may not. You may need to create a custom wheel profile within the game if you are using multiple devices, or if you have the devices plugged into separate USB ports. The game won’t automatically map them unless they are directly connected.
We recommend that you avoid using USB switches. Rather, use dedicated USB 3.0 ports on your PC. Avoid unplugging and plugging back in your wheel to USB 3.0 ports while the game is running. Some wheels have been known to generate an erroneous VIDPID (Vendor ID, Product ID for USB devices) when this happens. For your wheel to work properly with the game, it must have the correct VIDPID associated with it.
V8 supercars???
Ok im sold lol 🥳
the pick grid position still doesn't sit right with me, id rather just do a quali so i know where i should actually sit on the grid rather than taking a guess
You can do the quali and place yourself where you qualified. It’s a single player modę so I guess it’s good that everyone can play how they want to.
@@szymonski1905 in the career (at least the first few championships) there is only practice then race, no quali 🤷♀️

This game is pricy in my country but looks kinda fun. Reminds me of PC2 and I did have fun with that one but I only played it for a few hours. I'll stick to ACC and rF2 for now. Fingers crossed for the ACC update and Le Mans.
ACC is only for the FIA sanctioned races and tracks. Anything that isn’t in the gt world challenge will never be in the game.
I will wait for AC2. For now learning and having fun in ACC which from my opinion is on top. I'm new to simracing and maybe I'm subjective but from what I see on CZcams from other games that's what I'm thinking.
@@sobolanul82 are you on console? It’s actually pretty good on console but as far as a true sim goes aside from out dated PC2, ACC is really all there is for consoles. Once you get adjusted and are ready for multiplayer seek out a league.
How is it as compared to project cars 2 in terms of physics?
The game releases in less than an hour mate, why wait until tomorrow for wheel settings?
I am a bit worried about the car leveling system only being tied to a specific instance of each model and the fact that they have an online requirement to play the single player campaign. This is just nagging at me as a similar situation to GT7 where they released a day 1 patch to nerf race payouts and inject microtransactions to buy in game currency. They can pretty much do the same here but selling car levels instead of cash (and the day one patch nerfing the auto drive settings so those can't be used to afk level cars). It sounds like it will get more play time from me than GT7 did but there is zero reason these games need to keep locking single player modes behind online connections, payday 3 being the prime example of why that benefits no one but the people that pirate the game.
Wisst ihr zufällig ob es auch mit dem Moza R5 kompatibel ist?
Works fine for our Moza R9 & R12, I dont see a reason the R5 would not work (on PC)! -Michel
Thanks for being so positive! I'm really enjoying the game.
I hate saying this, but how does the simracing experience stack up to GT7?
I would have been happy if forza motorsport 8 was a 1-to-1 PC port of GT7.
Good lord no. Motorsport should be better than whatever the fuck GT7 is.
It’s already on par with gt7..and gt7 has had 38 updates. Forza 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Physics wise gt has always had a slight better edge. Most people that play Forza are not hardcore sim racers they are casuals

Crap, fm7 is too dark on the pc (at least my upstairs one). Now I’m afraid this will be the same on FM8. I do have a nice OLED on the sim rig so might be ok but this is not encouraging.

The problem with different exposure/color was introduced in Forza Horizon 5 as a creative decision :P I can't use interior cams because of that :/
Great video. As a forza fan but felt let down from 5 I'm really looking forward to playing this game on my Rog Ally and seeing how well it runs as F1 22 runs like a dream on it.

Comprehensive and very well written. Better than any review on this subject! Well done! No Nordschleife is sadly a massive deal breaker for me.
Microsoft lost that sale out of me until they put it back where it belongs.
Best decision is to wait for a while- unfortunately the sad reality with these modern Forza titles. They really only get good once a year or two into their life cycle. Just look at the content in Motorsport 7 towards the end of its life cycle and it taking 2 god damn years for Horizon 5 to finally get most of the absent cars from the previous installment (mind you, barely any new cars to Horizon even get added these days and if you do you have to constantly be online every week to earn them from the playlists).
Not even its fiercest rival GT7 is doing any better- it's only got better now after its own appalling debacle at launch.
Can't wait to jump in and start playing in 2 hours and 9 minutes
Does it have VR?
Hi thanks for your video, having said that, I have played all the Forza Motorsport games from the pad, now I have purchased a MOZA Racing R9 v2 to play the various simulators, I made a comparison between the pad and the steering wheel, with the pad everything is much more simple and I turn 3 seconds faster and more constant, with the Moza I turn 3 seconds late and inconsistent, because I feel the car floating in a straight line especially when braking, any car (especially the less powerful and stock ones) oversteers when braking , as well as the steering wheel turning 3 mm right or left it is very light and therefore easy to send you into oversteer, while instead you should feel the heaviness of the car with straight wheels, I'm trying to set the times like the pad, but if I don't succeed it will be a failure for this game, because if you want to be competitive online, you have to use the pad, and this is not good, Granturismo as arcade as it may be allows you to use the steering wheel, but by force motorsport is all slow and awkward, I hope with updates and steering wheel setup it will improve
2:05 It's a cockpit cam thing, it's in FH5 as well, and other titles, it's abysmal, at points you can't even see
Funny how TCS and ABS flashes when he says that all assists are off! 😂
I'll bet a reshade cannot be done to this version just as was the case with its predecessor due to locked files. Bummer.
Is the liverie editor as good as GT ,does it have VR because that's all I play now.And little things like what does the pit crew look like in action.
Very unlikely for VR to happen
Hello my friend! How about sim racing, is it a game that we can consider a sim racing with we play without assistance...
still missing important information sim racers want to know. triple monitor support, telemetry, camera position and fov settings.
i stg, if this runs like trash on my 3080 i'm going to upgrade. somehow. maybe sell a body part or something.
Throwing the game out without honing their own FFB settings was a huge mistake. It's not that wheel players make up a huge component of FM's player base, but I think it completely shoots down any kind of racing prestige/pedigree the game might hold, even as a simcade..
I wish it had vr support 😢
So weird that private MP doesn't have AI or Quali. I don't know why racing games consistently ignore this option.
Hopefully, they will upgrade the game to DLSS 3.5 ASAP
what about triple screen support
17:27 turn 10 dev: alright this is the best default settings for wheel “no force feedback and weird bland settings” 😂😂😂
Probably for Logitech entry level wheels...for more advanced wheels like his you may need to crank things up a bit
Default settings are usaully decent for the entry level wheels.
