    Thanks, i’ve been trying to find or make a version of this that doesn’t slow down the item stream or use a laggy comparator clock. This is just what I needed. I assume it also works with brewing stands?

      it works with brewing stations from what i've tested (in 1.15.2)
      and if you replace the dropper with a dispenser and use a honey block you can also sort out sheers + Flint & Steel

    Love this, using it in my sorter. For the record, a bedrock fix is simple: powered rail instead of noteblock. First item gets pushed through if it isn't a shulker box, but that's fixed by keeping the hopper underneath the dropper locked until just after the dropper can fire once. Seems to work like a charm.

    • @num3sherm

    Doesn't work on bedrock perfectly. Can't get observer to read the note block so I replaced with another observer. The timing is off and lets about 25% through into the wrong hopper.

    I only tested on 1.12.2 optifine on server where everything works like in vanilla and has no lags

  • @MalcolmBlk
    @MalcolmBlk Před 4 lety

    On the server that I play, the hopper speed is changed to 3 items/sec (so the hopper can accept and/or output 3 items at once every second, it's a lag prevention measure). How do I need to modify the clock so the filter works?

    • @metamilo
      @metamilo  Před 4 lety

      That's actually faster than the default speed which is 2.5 per second. Also there's 20 game ticks in a second and 3 doesn't divide evenly into 20 so I'm not really sure how that mod works. I guess I'd need more details to say for sure.
      In the mean time you can always try extending the clock one observer at a time until it works.

    • @MalcolmBlk
      @MalcolmBlk Před 4 lety

      @@metamilo That was just what we were told by the dev, he must've oversimplified it. I've tried extending the clock part but with no success. Using a different design for now that's slightly larger but somehow works with the weird timings on the server.

  • @MrRubikraft
    @MrRubikraft Před 4 lety

    Doesn't work if the items are feeded to the top hopper from another hopper coming from the side (but it works from another hopper coming from the top), and I don't know why.
    Too bad because that is *exactly* what I needed in terms of space.

    • @metamilo
      @metamilo  Před 4 lety

      Yea, the hopper has to suck items in for it to have proper timing for pushing them into the dropper. if you have another hopper placing them into the input hopper then it could break. It has to do with hopper update order which is a complicated topic.

      I've done some testing and I'm getting this same problem as well. My hunch is that we are both trying to use it as a 1-wide tileable component (putting them directly next to each other) and that they are somehow interfering, as just one is working for me. I'll get back to you when I find a solution.

    can this design handle double hopper speed?,nice one btw

    • @metamilo
      @metamilo  Před 4 lety +2

      Unfortunately the answer is no. It is limited to hopper speed by the hopper that draws directly out of the dropper. If you did run it at 2x speed the dropper could fill up a little if it got multiple shulkers in a row and then the randomness might cause any new non-shulker items to be ignored for a cycle or two which would be long enough for the hopper below to grab them.

      metamilo I just double checked it as well to make sure that I wasn’t losing my damn mind. The last item goes into the shulker box output line depending on the direction that it’s built. If the note block is on the north side of the machine though, it works fine.
      I wonder if it’s because we’re running paper on our server. I’ll try it again after work, but it’s 100% repeatable.

    • @metamilo
      @metamilo  Před 4 lety

      @@jerod5636 It could be paper though if it was I wouldn't expect it to consistently drop the last item. I'd make a vanilla single player world to test it. Paper is very bad when it comes to redstone, if you have any say in your server setup I'd suggest looking into Fabric.

    • @metamilo

      This is a timing based circuit so it could break if there is interference from other adjacent redstone. Also, it doesn't have overflow protection, so it items back up into the system it could misfire and create the situation you are describing.
