- Hey everyone! This week's furniture project has been quite the adventure! As someone who has been renovating furniture for the past 10 years, I've come across my fair share of challenges. And let me tell you, sometimes you just stumble upon that one piece of furniture that seems to have a mind of its own!
But hey, that's all part of the fun, right? This time around, I had to do a complete 360 to bring this beauty to life. And guess what? It turned out even better than I expected!
I had the pleasure of using two of my all-time favorite products for this project: Annie Sloan chalk paint and IOD paint inlays. These incredible products were initially intended for this very project, but as always, things took a different turn. But hey, that's the beauty of creativity!
In this week's tutorial, I'll take you through the journey of finding solutions to achieve the end result you see here. Trust me, the outcome is absolutely stunning and perfect for the smallest guest bedroom just in time for our family guest staying at end of the month.😊
If you're curious to see how I tackled this furniture transformation, head over to my CZcams channel for the premiere! You know the drill - same time, same place. Let's learn and create together!

I laughed about the genuine fly poo part of the video. It was funny.

Amazingly beautiful work
Just stunning, Jonathan! ❤
Jonathan, I rewatched 3 times, stunning, however , do you ever have sore wrists from all the painting you do? I paint a lot and my wrists are very sore and cannot go for long periods of time, and developing carpal tunnel. I gave much admiration for how hard you work, I know it’s your passion and your taste in your home is exquisite! Forever fan! Blessings to you and Mr.M!
As always beautiful!
Great job
Simplemente bello.💐
Lovely result!
It's so very charming now. I just recently discovered your work and it has truly been very inspirational, especially the Gustavian pieces. I like to be subtle with my distressing, so I was happy to learn about the wet distressing techniques that you teach as well. Thank you so very much for creating these videos, I am watching each one to learn more things.
Jonathan! Another gorgeous transformation! It was worth all the extra effort. Very well done indeed.
I love how you applied the inlays, so much better than spraying and using brayer. I will do it this way for now on. Very nice outcome.
Absolutely beautiful
Gorgeous!! The only thing I don't like is the knobs. I think a glass knobs would like great, one that has a hue of pink or white.
i am in love with the finished piece!! You always have such great ideas with using the inlays and transfers, and you inspire me to get out in my garage and make art :)
The whole process was stunning, you are a true inspiration to us all , what a gifted man that God created, we are all blessed to have you to teach us, from a forever fan from Wisconsin , I am inspired!! ❤
Gorgeous!!! Thank you for your amazing instruction and problem solving!!! I am a beginner in furniture flipping and sometimes feel intimidated... You have inspired me to push on when I encounter an issue. I look forward to your videos. Sending ❤ from the USA 😊.
*Stunningly beautiful❣️ The green stripes really tied it all together, Jonathon.💕💛🍃🌺🍃💛💕*
Beautiful…I like your choice too. 🥳
Classy elegant, and just absolutely gorgeous, just when l think you’ve created your best piece you go and top it with something as stunning as this, all the hard work involved in creating this beautiful piece was so worth it….can’t wait for your next project..
Absolutely gorgeous! You always make beautiful artistic choices with brilliant results!😊
Stunning ❤❤❤
Perfection!
I really love it!
Love it, so romantic ❣️
Gorgeous ❤
Beautiful!
I really love it..!! ❤
Dear Jonathon .. only out of interest ... re the black 'fly specks' which came thro the paint ... I have treated a lot of timbers in my barn using oxalic acid to remove water marks ... and I have noticed black 'specks' coming out ... I think they may be tanic acid crystals which form from the tanin in the wood. when moisture is applied. I think what you did in your whole project was really excellent ... you are a master of the furniture painting craft ! Thank you so much for all your wonderful tutorials.
Really excited to have another creative watch. Please tell Mr M hi and you guys enjoy yourself some "Summer time" 🎶

PS: The stripper product you use appears to be excellent.
Not my favorite task.
You've Mastered that technique for certain.

Another great piece. Thanks for fearlessly showing us your process, Jonathon. Your can-do attitude is always inspiring, and the finished look is stunning. 👏👏👏
This looks really lovely Jonathan! Adding those lines between the inlays was the perfect finishing detail! 😍👏🤩
Hi Jonathon: Much love to you and Mr. M.!
It seems to me that quite a few months ago you were the one who introduced me to inlays. 🤗Before you I had never heard of them. I still have not had the courage to try them so watching your video today may just do the trick. Many thanks!😊
BTW, there are sanding sponges which are very soft and go under the sandpaper. Then you are able to bend the sandpaper around the round shapes. I got mine on Amazon a it's d they are called, IPELY. the package said it's "car accessories; ideal for your driving life". which has nothing what I asked for. They are round and ideal for the rotary sanders. I can't seem to find ones for the mouse sander.
I thank you for the info. I will take a look much appreciated and just go for it with the in lays
I missed most of the live. My phone was charging in the other room. But I will definately watch the replay! That brush at the end reminds me of my striping brush I used when I did nails, but its much thicker. 😅 Your piece is gorgeous too! ❤❤❤❤😊
Thank you so much enjoy the replay. Have a wonderful day.
Thanks for showing we all make mistakes. I'm painting, using transfers, and messed up my sealer on the side of my vanity. I didn't get upset. I just sanded, sealed, and painted again. I love watching your painting. You're so relaxed. Keep up the beautiful work!
Oh, goody! I’ve wanted to know what to do with those paint inlays!!! Merci’
Soooo glad I finally caught a LIVE!! Hello from Cape Cod. I’m in my studio watching and working 😊 Absolutely stunning!!
Wishing you all of the creativity in the world thank you for watching
Wonderful tutorial Jonathon and it's so inspiring to see how you work through issues.
You make painting those lines look so easy…. I know if I tried that it would be a MESS! Nice job!!
It's turned out real pretty, well done for overcoming the initial issues with the piece.
Очень познавательное видео, благодарю Вас Мастер!))🙂
It is lovely, so well done
I've just seen this now..I didn't get a notification to say you were going live 😢 but watching it now
Hope you enjoy the end results
Loved the end result. Being in S.A I can't find inlays nor the wonderful Annie Sloan brushes that you have. However you really inspired me to repaint so many things, and I've just finished my kitchen floor...from red terracotta tiles to dove Grey and then stencil like your bathroom renovation. Just wondering now what is the best way to seal it? Thank you for your wonderful videos
😍🏆
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
you need a shim under the front leg. Good color.
This is beautiful, first time watching your video tutorial and I’ll definitely be subscribing to you. Thanks for sharing everything, the what works and what doesn’t work 👍 can I ask are the inlays just a one and done or can they be used again?
@@user-zt2sq5ow3d that’s a great question if you’re applying them straight into chalk paint you can remove them dry them out and use them probably another two times but it will pick up a little bit of your background colour but that always adds something different on the next project, so about three uses maximum but if you’re using to transfer them, probably only one years but then you can use the paper to decoupage PS welcome and thank you for subscribing ❤️😂🙏
Hello from Italy 🌸
Well, hello there in Italy
Hello from Portugal
I thought you don’t have to strip finish when you are using Annie Sloan paint
No, you absolutely don’t have to the intention was to see the woodgrain through but I had issues and it wasn’t looking too good so it ended up getting a paint
I guess I don't understand why you couldn't have spayed on a coat of shellac, and do your color wash from there?🤔
