  • Being in the military it has some amazing benefits, things like the GI Bill and Tricare to name a few. I'll be sharing some of the military benefits I use on a daily or more often basis that are not as well known. Hopefully you can benefit from these and save yourself some money :-)

    I enlisted in the National Guard and am doing drill before basic. My recruiter lied and was very bad at communication. He told me I was getting a bonus but later said I had to choose between student loan repayment, bonus, or GI kicker on my contract. He never brought these options to my attention. I don’t know what to believe and am really pissed off with him

    Mr Miyata, being in the coast guard how did you and fellow coasties react to the govt shutdown and did it effect the working environment while going unpaid.

    Quick comment. I used to work at Autozone and I know for a fact that Active/Reserves/National Guard get 10% off. Just need to show them your Military ID

    vanguard does not charge 1% as he said, it charges way less at 0.11%. This is nearly 1/10th of 1%. Also if you view the rate of return, Vangaurd out classes TSP in so many ways.

      @Damian-kl3wb Před 2 lety +1

      Abou 0.03 to 0.04% if you look at vanguard etfs. Also, putting into a roth ira is the way to go (if you're a civilian)

      @brandonholloway8594 Před 2 lety +1

      @@Damian-kl3wb i have looked at TSPs, they can be worth it, but the amount of time you have to spend in a federal job for it to be worth it is not for everyone. There are lower commissions on vangaurd options yes, but i want the 12% returns.

      You would be able to put in three times the contribution limit in a roth tsp versus normal roth. Tax free growth. There isn't an investment vehicle more tax efficient and easy to grow. The C fund is the S&P. That's enough to convince me to work a federal job.
