- Just got her back together again and made some new exhaust pipe extensions. Nathan made the pipes out of "leftovers" I had laying around and Scott cut me some new extensions for out the back.
Mike, you need to read kids books. You have a voice for it.
Thank you.
From time to time you're going to have to strap on a Go-Pro, and take us for a ride. I'm sure I'm not the only one that would appreciate that. Thanks for the video.
We've talked about it. If we do it, we want to give you something you'll enjoy. We'll see.
I agree. Mike DOES need to put on a go-pro.
I agree with that 😈
you prolly dont give a shit but does anybody know of a method to get back into an instagram account..?
I was dumb forgot the login password. I would appreciate any help you can offer me.
@Alessandro Josue instablaster =)
That grin at 4:55 says it all.
Yah, I guess it does.
👍
Aww, bless your ❤ Mike, please make a video with your best friend riding with you
Oh yah. Thank You. It's coming. I'm very fond of my dog and I really want her with me.
The SWEET SWEET SOUND OF A SHOVEL , I'll never sell my FLHS
I feel that way. I've had this one 42 years.
Another sweet looking and sounding bike 👍🏽 be safe brother.
Thanks, you too!
I grew up playing with tools in the floor of my grandfather's garages. They both taught me so much about motors and general shadetree mechanic work. So glad guys like you are continuing to hand down knowledge to the younger generations. She sounds amazing. Hope you get back on the road soon.
You bet. Thank You. Just need to fab up some strange brackets for the sidecar. Sonia hasn't seen some of my favorite paces yet.
But they never taught you the difference between a "motor" and an "engine".
the Sound of a shovel. one of the most beautiful pieces of music
Yep. Thank You.
Your smile tells it all! That's one beautiful motorcycle!
Thank You.
Another fun video....Thanks Mike
Thank You.
Who needs speakers when ya got "them pipes"!!!💪😎👍🇺🇸 (good luck with the side-car) Bless your pup🐶
Thank You.
Exactly! I never understood why ANYBODY would have a radio on a Harley. The sound of those pipes are sweet as classic rock.
That is music to the ears, especially after working all day, Thanks
Thank You.
sounds great nothing like the sound of an old Shovel I have a side car on my 76 my German shepherd loves going for rides.pipes should be good back like that for your dog she will love it.see you on the road
Sounds great! Thank You.
I love my dog too. I take him everywhere. He wouldn't have it any other way. It looks and sounds nice.
Thank You.
Fact is... Ain't no head like shovelhead.....
Uh huh.
I've got 2 shovelheads and a knucklehead but I can think of another kind of head I like better
Troublehead.
@@mikemusetti7389 Shrunken?🤣
Love that shovel brother. I had an 83 and it was fun
Yup. It's a love thing.
Mike, I can’t even put into words how much I love your videos. Thank you for doing you’re thing and letting us watch! Your videos are the light in my dark times and I thank you!
Wow, thank you! I really would like for this to be a pleasure. I've really enjoyed the interaction with some great people.
Hey, Mike! What a beautiful looking and sounding bike. You’re like Bob Ross of motorcycles. It’s really nice to listen to your voice and your motorcycles 👍🏻
Thank You.
Your gonna make me cry. I had a 71 FLH in pearl white. S& S everything ,from the flywheels to the carb. I road that bike for 20 plus years and all over CD the Americas. That's a real motorcycle you can take anywhere. Now I e got a Kawasaki. It's ok. You have a nice version of the one bike I wish I could have hung on to.
Thank You. It's fun.
Nice bike, nice yard, nice dog, nice life
It took a long time to pull off, but I feel very fortunate. Thank You.
Mike, the bike is beautiful and sounds really nice and I just loved that comment an electric foot.
Thank You. I get lazy once in a while.
She's a beauty Mike...both your bike and Sonia that is! Love your air cleaner cover by the way! Great to see the SU carb and those very thoughtful pipes too...she's a beautiful sounding bike Mike! All the best mate...and see ya out on the road with Sonia one day! Incidentally, that's my wife's name too! Regards, Mitch
Thank You. I look forward to seeing both of you.

Smile says it all! Thanks for sharing she's a beauty!
Thank You.
Got a great throaty sound! Glad to hear it's not idled to low! Lookin good :)
She doesn't idle low.
Nice bike. My 72 FLH hasn't let me down in 32 years and counting..
Cool.
Nice bike Mike I’ll be listening for you See you on the road
You're on.
I have a new Hero! Loved your videos before but now I see Sonia and you've won me over brother. Thanks for good honest tips with no hollywood drama!
Wow. Thank You. Sonia is flattered too. But, she's really a little put out with me. I haven't got her sidecar up yet. Coming soon. No drama necessary.
Sounds good to me Mike, Enjoy you summer rides. Melman!
Thanks, you too!
Mike,
That bike is nothing but an eyeful to behold!
You say she is a bit temperamental. And that’s all right.. still digging her the ape’s are an eye pleaser as well.
Thank You. We finally got through her "odd" tuning stages. She is a "one off."
Beautiful bike and beautiful pup. Thanks for sharing with us.
Thank You.
Love that shovel
Thank You.
She sounds Great Mike.ive been working on shovels for 30 years and still learn from your vids
It goes on forever. You could probably teach me a few things.
So nice! We will see you on the road!
I'll be looking forward to it.
From an 81 FLHS Shovelhead guy, I'm really loving all the SH videos. Learning a ton. Thanks for doing those.
Glad you like them!

Mike, I love your videos I hope that you're around for another fifty years or more
Thank You. I'll try.
Greetings from across the pond! That bike sounds great! The smile on your face says it all.

Beautiful Showerhead!! 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you! 😊
She sounds amazing Mike!
Thank You.
That is some sweet music Mike! Stay well my friend :)
Thanks, you too!
Very nice,I was looking for a SU carb but finally got my Tillotson running good on my 1969 FLH. The SU is so cool.
Thank You. A lot of people used to rave about their Tillotsons.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. So much knowledge has been lost throughout time regarding vintage and antique vehicles because of people not passing down there experience with them.
We're trying. Thank You.
Sweet sounding bike... My 75 FXE has a Thunderheader on it. It's a tad bit loud... It's eventually going to my daughter when she's old enough. I'm going to have to get another one... Not a bad delima to have. Great video & as always be well.
That's what we refer to as a "quality problem." Sounds good to me.
I was lucky enough to come over from Australia in 1981 to Orange County to buy an FXB Sturgis with the shovelhead and the dealer had already removed the hamcan for a round air-cleaner also some shotgun pipes.
Very cool.
It's incredible what the new FLD (SWITCHBACK) is similar of this bike.. nice, beautiful. Thank you Mike for your passion
Glad you like it!
When you got close to her to check the enrichener I heard your Shovelhead makes the same noises as mine...
that is comforting to me... THANX!!! : )
Yes, they do.
Sounds strong Mike! Glad to see her back together. Ride safe! Al
Thank You. You too.
OK Mike this is wild, I just showed my wife your channel and showed her this bike and your panhead and I said that is a beautiful bike but I want to hear it run ...and bam...here you are
That's great. Thank You.
Just catching up,sweet ride bro,i love my shovel heads, grew up on them and will ride em till im gone
Ride hard ride safe be well
Thank You.
Nice Mike! Thanks for sharing! She sounds great!
Thank You.
In my small hometown, circa 1978, I knew of a guy who had an Electra-Glide. Was probably 1969-71 vintage. Looked a lot like yours, including color. He removed everything extraneous, including all extra lighting and turn signals. But he kept the original handlebars, brushed metal headlight nacelle, fenders and wheels. Might've also kept the foot-boards. He'd installed drag pipes and a classic thin Sportster seat. I don't think it qualified as a bobber. Just a sleek and simple meat n' potatoes machine.
This was the golden age of Japanese four-cylinder sport bikes like the Kawasaki Z1 and the Honda 750F. Man, that Harley was a standout!
Once when nobody was around I threw a leg over it, sat on the seat and lifted it off its side-stand. I marveled at the perfect balance in spite of its weight!
Forty-some-odd years later -- thanks for this video and for sparking to life a great memory.
That's great. Thank You
Sweet sweet music! I love the sound of a shovel. My father bought his '68 in '78 and now im riding it. Nothing ever feels as good as riding that bike. Its the green/birch color and although its not my favorite, id never change it. Eventhough i have seen some sweet dark green/white FLH's
Very cool! That's a grand old bike. It certainly disserves to be preserved by you.
THANK YOU...for sharing. Fantastic sounding bike, pipes look great. Like the air cleaner logo.
Thank You.
The smile on your face when you were standing behind the machine you lovingly built says more than your whole dialogue! sweet thumper, music to my ears as well.
Thank You. I really appreciate that.
Another beautiful bike brought to you by the Bob Ross of motorcycling.
Thank You.
Love my shovel sounds great beautiful bike Mike!
Thank You.
Well you inspire me to work on my Shovel, shame on me I’ve never touched it mechanically, I know my bad. Had it built in 1996 rode for awhile then dived off into the Evo world. I sold my shovel and it was gone 15 years. The buddy of mine that built it called me on day to tell me he was talking with the guy that bought it and had ridden it to his house. Wellllllll, I bought it back. Now that I learned my lesson not to ever get rid of your Shovel I would like to get her up and running properly again. Thanks for your help and inspiration, ride safe and stay cool. May God Bless. I’m sure I’ll be asking lots of questions.
Way cool.
Dig the color, hell dig the whole bike Brother!
Thank You.
Really like the clean look of the long shot pipes. Good job sir!
Thank You.
Beautiful bike AWESOME sound!!! Shovelheads have the best sound of ANY bike on the road!!!
Oh, I love the sound of any well tuned old Harley. Nothing sounds like a good running Shovel. Nothing sounds like good running Knuckle. Nothing sounds like a good running Pan. Can't wait to make music with a good running Big Flathead. It's all love to me.
Such a nice bike, love your style Mike thanks for sharing 👍
Thank You.
Glad Chong is still doing well. Looking good my man.
Much appreciated
Very nice bike. Thanks for the sound check. Be safe out there. : )
Thanks, you too!
I love this man's voice! Love the bikes too lol
Thank You.
Fantastic sound again!
Thanks again!

I hope so too!
Looking and sounding great mike my shovel running great on fresh rebuild starts first or second kick
Cool. Thank You.
Beautiful bike, sounds great, thanks for sharing and a beautiful dog too. 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
This dude is the Bob Ross of bikes and I’m all here for it
Thank You.
Thanks for sharing that.
Thanks for watching.
Love the way your bike looks and sounds, I'm getting my very bike this weekend. it's an 81 shovelhead, I'm very excited
You should be. That's great!
Hey Mike I'm new to your channel, its excellent, as I just bought another Flh shovel, a 76 this time im waiting delivery, im 51 and haven't ridden for ten years. I watch your channel with much enthusiasm example seating valves was interesting, I had my valve stems hard chromed on my 73 shovel, I was told shovel valves don't really rotate so the hard chroming helps prevent wear on stems... Live to Ride forever brother.
You bet. Welcome back.
Another one of your beautiful rides she is also awesome all the good ones are taken Mike's got em all I'm jealous love it
Thank You. I've had this one 44 years. There was a time when she was ALL I had. And those were great times too.
@@pacificmike9501 well mike I can't compete with your love affairs but I got a fatboy I bought 27 years ago new and love it but I always wanted a flh shovel good friend of mine bought one new in high school let me take it for a day ride and fell in love that's what inspired me to buy the fatboy
Cool. We all start at the same place.
Beautiful beautiful looking ride
Thank You.
Love the videos Mike! Beautiful bike and sounds great, for a future video idea I was wondering if you could do a video on a springer front end showing maintenance and adjustments. Thank you!
Thank You. The project bike is getting a springer and we'll show the steps on video.
We need riding footage! It’s cool to see the build and hear it idle, but bikes are made to be ridden and I want to know what it’s like on pure vintage harley goodness!
We've been talking about it. We're constantly trying to come up with stuff. It's coming up. Thank You.
👍
Really diggin' that air cleaner decal, Mike. Ain't no head like a Shovelhead.
Thank You.
Thanks for posting all your bikes for us to observe and listen too. I love them all
Glad you like them!
Greatings from europe. Bike sounds great.
Thank You. And, Greetings to you.
Well Mr. Pacific, you got yourself a pretty lady there and I'm sure she'll be thankful you got rid of the fishtails. Though the fishtails are cool, I do like the looks of a clean set of drags, nice classic look. The Road bike sounds healthy, no surprise there, I wouldn't expect anything less. Take care of yourself Mike.
You too. And Thank You. My puppy really makes me happy. You know, she accepts all of my quirks.
An absolute masterpiece, what a pleasure for my ears. I wish every modern bike would sound like a harley.
BOOM BOOM BA DA BOOM BOOM BOOM
It would be nice. But the only thing that sounds like the real thing, is the real thing.
What a fine sounding Harley, looks beautiful too! Ride safe!
Thanks, you too!
Thanks Mike. Your smile says it all 😎👍
Thank You. I'm having fun.
Awesome machine mike, very nice set of pipes...
Thank You.
Love them old shovels!
You bet.
Beautiful...... bike and dog. That has to be one of the best sounding Shovelheads I’ve ever heard. Keep buildin’m, keep ridin’m. 🤙
Thank You. We'll just do that.
That is a sweet scoot!
Thank You Jayne.
My buddy has and rides daily a 76 and a 77, I would love to own a shovel but I'm not very mechanical inclined and they need alot of love, maybe some day see u on the rode ,be safe
They've been around quit a while. About every ten years, I go allthrough mine. Then, I'm good to go for quite a while.
Hey Mike it sounds great, Sonia moved back to hear the bike better haha
She does stuff like that. The bike has a new sound right now. She's adjusted to the other ones. She'll have this one down in the next couple of days.
Hi Mike, so many comments after just one day, Amazing! Even so, I just want to comment that I agree with your thoughts about exhaust pipes on a Shovel, it 's really important to Think about your needs. I tried shotguns first on my old Shovel, but ended up with dragpipes with some additional flanges inside. First going together with a DellOrto PHM40 carb which worked fine, but then recently changed to an S&S Super E which seems to be working equally fine with these dragpipes. But your pipes extending behind the rear made me think, so I might be looking at a new pair of pipes soon.
Thank you for the inspiration!
Thank You. Have fun. The characteristics change with each modification to those pipes. Change cams and get a whole new world of strangeness in those pipes.
@@pacificmike9501 , thank you answering, as always I'm suprised that you take your time to do so. Just a follow-up question, what kind of equipment are those pipes you use in this video, what are they? You mention something customized?
Poetry in motion
Thank You.
Great awesome Bike
Thank You.
Hi Mike - I like Your bike & the electric starter - My ride has a kick start & i would like a electric starter on it - I Like Your nice Dog also - Both of You enjoy Your rides together ! Take care Mike - John - Canada
Thank You. And, wishing you a great time. My memories of riding in Canada are awesome.
