If you want to hear her go low watch her cover of how great thou art, she sings it in the same key as elvis and kills it. This is really not a good example of what she can do. I personally would have chosen another song as your first song for Angelina, but still, you have no idea what this young lady can do! Oh boy, you are going to be bombarded by her fans called Angels that will fill you in on this music prodigy with an old soul from Norway. She's basically been a star since she was 7 years old. First and foremost, she is a jazz singer but has the ability to sing any genre. She also does all of her own musical arrangements. Her early influences are Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, and Etta James to name a few. Her love of jazz came from her grandmother playing jazz music around her when she was young. In 2014, she entered at age 7 and won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 8. With her new found fame, she used it to appear on many shows from abroad and help raise millions for the less fortunate children around the world. At age 13, she was invited to participate on America's Got Talent: The Champions in 2020. She shocked the audience and the judges with her rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. She received a standing ovation from all and got the Golden Buzzer from judge Heidi Klum to go straight to the Finals. Her performance went viral and even the group Queen responded on Twitter by saying, " Wow, what a rendition!" For Queen to respond to someone covering one of their songs is quite a feat since they rarely react to anyone . Not only that, but she received the copyrights for her version of this song from Queen, which makes it hers now. She did not win, but her fan base grew and expanded her popularity.
Now 17 years old, living in Los Angeles, and currently signed with Republic Records, whose clients include Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, and Drake to name a few. Her family and Republic Records had agreed not to heavily promote her just yet so she can live as normal of a life as possible and finish her schooling. From what we know, she is finally done with school. She had a single that came out May 5th called Love Don't Let Me Go, a new EP called Old Enough that came out Friday, July 21st, a newly released video of her new song called Now I'm The Fool, and a new album of original music which will be coming out later this year. She recently returned back to Norway and performed at a number of sold out concerts in which fans from around the world came to see her. Many of the fans there said she sounded better live in person and was a once in a lifetime experience.
Her fans call her The Barefoot Princess. She always performs with no shoes when she sings. Why? The reason is very special. When she was 6 years old, she was traveling with her family in Iran where she met a poor shoeless girl in the streets that was about her age. She made money by weighing people. After speaking with her for a few minutes, Angelina noticed the scars on the girl's feet and asked the girl what her dream is. The girl said she wanted to be a doctor but she couldn't because she had to make money for her family. Angelina did what came natural to her, she gave the little girl her shoes and told her to not give up on her dreams. The girl then asked Angelina what her dreams were, Angelina answered that she wanted to be a superstar, and the girl said she would pray for her success. Since then, Angelina has performed barefoot in honor of that little girl and to those who are less fortunate around the world. She keeps this promise to this day. One of the reasons why we love her so much!

You have heard a grand total of 1 of her about 200 recordings. Hear more of her before you attempt to pigeon hole her into how she sings or what she can do. Why does Angelina sing barefoot? The answer may bring a tear to your eye. It is related to a promise she made to herself and to the world when she was only 6 years old. She was traveling in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own favorite shoes. Angelina ask the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and she said a doctor, but she could not because she had to take care of her siblings. She asked Angelina the same question and Angelina said I want to sing for the world. The young girl said she would pray for Angelina. Since then, Angelia has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She even donated her winnings from Norway's Got Talent to charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing an emotional bond.

She's the best female singer in the world right now, from what I've heard. She's just pushing 18 yrs. and currently going through the typical teenage emotional change at this time, in my opinion. But her covers are stunning. Power... she's got plenty, without screaming. Another singular talent is the late Eva Cassidy. You need to go on a run with both of them. I'd recommend Loving You (her age appropriate version of I Just Wanna Make Love To You she did at a live concert at 11 years old) , or more recent from last year at age 16, Whitney's I Have Nothing.
As for power, control, stamina, and range, last week at her concert in Portsmouth she did 18 songs with Whitney's "I have Nothing" being the last song! And she did that in just over 2 hours! Name another female vocalist today that could do that! She belts only when the song requires it to make a point! If you want to hear her power listen to her live performance of "It's a Mans World" when she was 12! She is basically self taught starting at 18 months of age! Not a miss print, and there is video! By the time she was 3-4 she was practicing (her choice) 4-5 hours a day. She started by listening to all the "old" Jazz greats, but has covered songs by most of the great vocalists of the last 100 years! Everything from Jazz to rock to pop, even rap, and everything in between! Today at 17, she is the worlds best vocalist, storyteller, and one of the top songwriters and composers! She started arranging her own covers at the age of 7, entered Norway's Got Talent at 7 and won at 8 becoming the youngest person to ever win a Got Talent show world wide! Became the youngest published author in Norway's history at age 9 by publishing a book about meeting a young girl on the side of the street when Angelina was 6 who was trying to earn money by weighing people on a pair of bathroom scales. In Japan, for a large Japanese corporation. When Angelina performed at a concert there, several years ago, she did an absolutely beautiful rendition of a song in Japanese, she sounded is if her was her native language. Her ability hear and repeat the nuances of the language, is amazing.
Seconded. AJ is a master of "less is more". She doesn't need to belt. But when she does, OMG. It's a mans world live recording with the brass band is fantastic. It is just a recording on a phone, but she trancends the medium.

Real vocalists do not need to belt and show off, when you are this talented the choices are for the song, not to impress anyone. We all know who those singers are...there are many. Angelina travels in a different "Lane" than the "look what I can do" bunch. 1000's of "singers"....very few superlative vocalists...maybe a handful, and here is one of them. No AW voice either....it is Angelina's voice. She has no coaches...this is a God given natural talent that she knows how to use.

This is smooth, lay back Angelina & belting in this would be inappropriate. Her vocal toolbox is overflowing, but she only uses those tools appropriate for a particular song. Many great new young singers seem to believe they need to empty their toolbox for every song they sing. In Angelina's case, you need to listen to at least 30-40 of her songs, from 8 or 9 different musical genre, to see most of what she is capable of doing with her voice. She won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 8 with songs by Billie Holiday, Nancy Sinatra, and the song Summertime from the film Porky and Bess. You are at the very beginning and I hope that you are up to it embark on the further journey, because there is a lot to discover, she is the best singer in the world, in my opinion), but you will find out for yourself and believe me, you will become as addicted to her voice as all the other fans (Angels). , she is also called the barefoot angel with the 1000 voices, why she always performs barefoot is a different story, she can adapt and improve her voice to any song and also convey a lot of emotions and she not only has around 200 covers but also 11 originals written for her as well as 2 written for her, all of which are amazing and even now legendary and there's a lot to talk about, her new EP all originals I can't decide which song is the best. Angelina Jordan is a music prodigy she started singing at age of 1.5 years and more than that she started with Billy Holiday Jazz. Angelina sings in 5 languages, designs her own clothes, and became the youngest auther of a book in Norway that explains why she sings with no shoes and like her name she truly is an angel with a heart of gold. Angelina won Norway's got talent when she was 7 years old (these are her words but she started at 7 years and won at 8years old) Her younger years before age 13 she was watched over by her mother and her Uncle who is also Angelina's manager who just wanted her to grow up normal. Her mother and uncle Turned down almost 90% of all requests for her to perform but even so from age 7years to 12 years old or so, she has been all over the world (Mother never more than a breath away) most of this was in support of childrens needs funding. Angelina has produced over 180 covers, and she makes all of them her own, all of which will astound you. New people to Angelina get sucked down this rabbit hole of not believing what they're hearing her excellent vocals and unique way of singing, Angelina is a master at music structure her ability to show absolute recognition to a cover while she makes it her own. Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman.
Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on CZcams. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz.
Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage.
Why Angelina always performs barefoot At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate.
At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. PLEASE PURCHASE Angelina’s book from her merchandise store on her official website, angelinajordanofficial Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on CZcams went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration. Angelina’s family took her to United States, Brazil, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea, Singapore among other corners of Earth, to perform for heads of state and to help raise money for charity. On June 27, 2018, at age 12, Jordan performed Frank Sinatra “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. She has said that was the high point of her young career which was already in it’s 6th year. During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each. In 2019, Angelina accepted an invitation to compete in the 2nd season of America’s Got Talent (AGT), The Champions. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter. Angelina was eliminated after covering Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT. Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on CZcams. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. The power here is limited, partially because she is singing near the bottom of her range. she has an extremely powerful voice and a broad range however she only uses the dynamics and range that best tells the story and expresses the emotions of the song. The Noregian singer Angelina recently had a sold-out concert in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, where there was an audience from 9 different country all the way from Australia and from 39 different states in the USA. The title track of this EP "Love Don't Let Me Go" has over 3 million views in 4 months. The epic Bohemian Rhapsody has collected approx. 150 million views in 3 years. That's not bad for a 17-year-old artist. The record label will start marketing when her full album comes out later this year, with subsequent tours. PS! Angelina will always be a class artist and a future world star, and not a hit machine for 14 year old teenagers! There is a reason why she, along with most people, quickly becomes the favorite of those who hear her. Quincy Jones who worked with Michael Jackson said she was the biggest talent he had heard since MJ.

A pet peeve of mine… a great voice is NOT about power. It’s about clarity, tone, control, pitch, and ability to convey emotion, all of which Angelina has in spades.

She has tremendous vocal power when she chooses to deploy it... For an early example try her I Put a Spell on You at 9 (her own arrangement of the Screaming Jay Hawkins song) Her voice is far from "mono" by the way... though it may seem a bit in this one I can see that but I love it !
