Ford eco boost also use a wet timing belt.
The belt degrades over time and the bits block the oil strainer. The subsequent loss of oil pressure destroys the engine.

Yes I finally found out the problem, even though we used the timing kit for the later engine ( the one that sits where the vacuum pump is located ) it still wasn’t timed exact . We removed the cam cover and used the old timing kit which locks both cams and this worked perfectly!

    Thanks for the comprehensive video.
However, it's more complex than a normal timing belt replacement in other cars as gaskets and seals need to be also changed.
Having the engine out of the car makes the replacement much easier clearly.
Wet timing belt is just a non sense in my opinion.

For 1.2 puretech engines; just use right engine oil coded "B71 2302 or B71 2297" These engine oils are formulated to avoid damaging the timing belt. Other than these engine oils that you think are of high quality will damage the belt. just use B71 2302 or B71 2297 PSA approved engine oils..

      Puretech? PuresXXt.
It was designed to fail, I stick to my statement.
A mechanical (motor-design) engineer can never have knowledge of all aggressive ingeredients in oil (a lot! ) that attack the rubber belt. Let alone the working temperature. The oil can be 100 C or more !!!!! No rubber can hold that.
      Hence: designed to fail.

at 2020 , PSA released new bulletin over this engine, recommending to use only 0w30 ACEA C1 or C2, with B71.2302/2312 requisite. Only Mobil and Total has products with theses requisites. About oil cycle , try to change oil and filter, each 8000km or 6 months.
don't use any kind of militec, motorkote, etc...

Hey, thank you for the compliments :) theres a special tool to check if it needs to be replaced, the dealer has this. • @marcohillenga5068

The idea isn’t really wrong, but the belt isn’t suited for today’s petrol. Short distances with a cold engine (lot of blow-by) and E10 petrol is what kills these belts. When these engines only do long distance driving, they will last a very long time. When this engine came out E10 wasn’t really common.

As a dealer tech we dont remove the engine, only if the oil pump has to be replaced but with a special tool U can pop the strainer off the pickup without removing the oil pump and cleaning it and refitting it. The newer later engines still under warranty U can only do by removing camshafts as U cannot sneak the belt past the sprockets
Make sure u remove the gauze filter in turbo feed line at block connection as it can block with rubber starving turbo of oil. Make sure U buy a belt checking tool to examine the belt width as it's likely it will need changing before the replacement interval and if done early U won't have to clean all the rubber particles through out the engine.

    Puretech? PuresXXt!
It was designed to fail, I state.
A mechanical (motor-design) engineer can never have knowledge of all aggressive ingeredients in motor-oil (a lot!) that attack the rubber belt.
Let alone the working temperature. The oil can be 100 C or more., for a long time.
Compare that with an outside belt: clean air, 50 C max.
    Hence: designed to fail.
