    Que bonito es estar otra vez en un lugar y de manera sorpresiva. Cerca del mirador de San Pedro de Alcántara donde se toma el tranvía que baja no se cuanto, porque no lo medí , pero unas cuantas calles y es realmente increíble el mecanismo que tiene para hacer ese descenso. Precioso paseo todo!!!Gracias otra vez.

    Que belo passeio! Você faz vídeos maravilhosos. Adorei a Feira dos livros. Que triste o incêndio que aconteceu em 1988. O final foi fantástico com a linda vista. Acho lindo os telhados todos vermelhos. Um abraço.

      Eu ainda me lembro desse incêndio de 1988... segui pela TV, um desastre enorme, e a reconstrução demorou imensos anos. Um abraço e até domingo, Elvira! 😊

    14:20 this church has world's most expensive chapel. The exterior is quite simple but the interior is very impressive. Full of gold and italian paintings.

    • @POVTours
      @POVTours  Před 2 lety

      Bom dia Edu! A Brasileira é o café mais emblemático de toda a cidade e um dos mais relevantes em todo o mundo. Foi criado em 1905, por um ex-emigrante português no Brasil, que ali casou com a filha de um dos maiores produtores de café da região de Minas Gerais. 😃☕☕ Por lá, passaram os escritores e artistas, tendo uma enorme importância cultural em Lisboa e no país. Sim, a feirinha de livros é no Chiado! 😊

    We are thinking of moving to Lisbon. Any chance you can do Principe Real and Avenidas Novas tour please. Great videos👍

    • @POVTours
      @POVTours  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Ewelina! What a funny coincidence, I was in Principe Real (and a teeny tiny bit of Avenidas Novas) yesterday! 😃 It will be the next video, I expect it to be online Wednesday or Thursday. It isn't an extensive tour of Principe Real or its quieter residencial areas.
      Just a quick walk along the busier streets, the Rua Dom Pedro V and Rua da Escola Politécnica, to Largo do Rato, and from there to the Marquês de Pombal roundabout and the Eduardo VII Park, which is already Avenidas Novas. I think I'll call the video "Less Touristy Lisbon", something along those lines. But I can do a detailed tour of Avenidas Novas soon, thank you for the suggestion! 😃

      @@POVTours Thank you, I really like your videos super clear, informative, great quality and I follow you on google maps😹I am thinking of staying in PR for my September trip and see in my own eyes. If you have some good suggestion for a great place to live for expat who is keen to learn and mix with Portuguese people I would greatly appeeciate. Hmm maybe a series on the best of what each neighbourhood has to offer?😬

      Thank you for your kind words, the kind of comment that helps me stay motivated! I just started this channel last month, and it's not always easy to find motivation to film, research information, edit, etc. 😄😄
      Both Avenidas Novas and Principe Real are very good options, Principe Real has a cosy, relaxed, trendy atmosphere. Avenidas Novas depends on the street/avenue. It can go from very quiet and residencial (you'll find more locals here than in Principe Real), to the epicentre of a the central business district. One important thing about Principe Real is that it's not that quiet at night (especially weekends!). There's a few bars there, many restaurants, plus it's close to the Bairro Alto district, one of the main nightlife hotspots in Lisbon.
      Avoid the historic centre, so Bairro Alto, Mouraria, Alfama, Pombaline Downtown, etc. Too many tourists, too many Airbnb properties, very few locals in the gentrified areas, too expensive for what it is (in my humble opinion). Great for holidays, but to live long term would not be my choice. The Belém district (west Lisbon) would be a very good option. Culturally it's by far the best area in Lisbon, tons of museums, monuments and history. Mostly locals with some expats, quiet, safe, large waterfront area, gardens... Plus that's where the original and famous Pastel de Belém (custard tarts) are made! 😋 You can find Pastel de Nata (the inferior copy) all over Portugal, but only one specific place in Belém can make and sell Pastel de Belém. 😋
      Cascais is *extremely* popular with expats, a beautiful town 25-30km west of Lisbon. It can be considered the Portuguese Riviera or Monte Carlo. Has a cosmopolitan atmosphere, ok-ish beaches (there are much better south of Lisbon), plenty of golf courses nearby if you're into that, the largest casino in Europe nearby. It doesn't feel very local, and doesn't have that special something that Lisbon has, that romantic feeling... 😊

      @@POVTours Thats super helpful thank you 🙏 On my coming trip I will try to find out the areas of Avenidas Novas that are quiet residential but still close to metro and cafes. I firstly discounted Belem because of lack of metro but I can see a tram or bus doesnt take that long so I will defo visit that too :)
      I know how hard sometimes its find to motivation to do anything specially if raining for weeks on end so please keep going but mostly enjoy what are you doing :)

    • @POVTours
      @POVTours  Před 3 lety +1

      Raining for weeks is a problem that we usually don't have here. Clear sunny skies for weeks might be a problem, if that's not your thing, though 😁 (sunscreen is a must)
      Yeah, I've always enjoyed visual arts, and also hiking/walking. I used to have a very popular photography page, now I'm trying this video thingy for the first time, combining my two main hobbies. I'm clearly more talented with photography, but I'm having fun and that's what matters 😁

      En el centro de Portugal quizás... uno de los lugares donde la vivienda es más barata. Regiones como Castelo Branco, Covilhã, etc... Mucho menos de $500 de renta.
