- This is my first colored metal halide bulb in my collection! I hope to get more colored metal halide lamps!
Info:
Brand: Plusrite
Burning Position: Universal (U)
Bulb Shape Type: ED37
Ballast Used: M59/E
Halide Salts Used: Thallium (Tl)
Lumen Output: 58000
Lamp Life: 5000 HRS
Saturation: 46%
Wavelength: 535 Nanometers (GREEN)
Age: 3 hours old
Note: The reason the color temperature is not listed in the information about the lamp is because it is a colored metal halide bulb. If it was white, then the color temperature would be listed.
Here is what a lighting gallery member said about the halide salts contained in colored metal halide lamps:
Green: Thallium, Blue: Indium, Pink: Indium, sodium and lithium.
Oh my gosh! Thank you for the information!! I pinned your comment because if new people want to research color metal halide lamps and see what the chemicals are, they can watch the video and look at the comment section of this video!
Wow, I am lost for words. Very nice metal halide. I never knew they made colors, besides something like 3000K, 4000K, 5000K or something in that standard range. I subscribed because I am old school and fascinated with metal halide lamps, even though LED is taking over and now the Environmental Activists groups hate me for loving those "energy hogging lamps" 😆😅(dispite many metal halide bulbs particularly the newer pulse start or ceramic metal halide on an electronic ballast, can approach efficiency matching some LED bulbs
I saw one of these heating up in a street light yesterday, and it changed colours.
I love the color
I found 100 watt dabmar green metal halide bulbs, and I have designers edge 100 watt metal halide fixtures, would these bulbs work?
TlI(TlBr) green, InI3(InBr3) blue, InI3, NaI magenta pink (stoechiometric ratio controlled) Iodine in all salts give blue spectrum, white ScI3 or/and AgI(AgBr) Ag give yellow and infrared...
Even though this is a 400 watt probe start lamp, would it damage the lamp, by using a 400 watt pulse start ballast?? given that most if not all 400 watt metal halide fixtures manufactured today use a pulse start ballast
9:46 ignition of lamp.
This was a private labeled lamp made by Venture Lighting, along with the blue and red color.
I'm wondering where these bulbs are used for. I'm just curious.
Frankie L. Architectural floodlighting and themed environments.
@@asherzelig221 I have all 3 Plusrite colored metal halide lamps! I have the MDX (RDX replacement), GDX, & BDX!
I'm wondering where these types of bulbs are used? It really gave off a green aura.
Probably rock concerts.
I have seen them in use at the minnesota fairgrounds and on some rides.
Thanks for the replies!
Theyre used along the coastal areas on fishing piers. Green Light penitrates water better than any other color, and it attracts more fish.
fishing lamp 400w usa e39 thailand have 400w 1000w 1500w e40 you ok
Where are the videos for the red? I just got a box of ten and am too lazy to find a spare 400w ballast. I have 3 but I have to figure out which has been injuriously dropped the most so I can make it my bench unit. Only a wire runner would put a ballast in a fixture. Can somebody carry me over all this stuff between myself and the door? Lotta work and I'm not feeling acrobatic. I'd settle for a ballast fetch pep talk video. Need for chocolate...
Sorry... the Plusrite Red/RDX Metal halide lamp was replaced by the magenta/MDX lamp...
