Do you have a 400W MH M59 ballast?
@@frankiel.6774
I have plenty if you want one
@@vintagetoiletstexas2443 Well I already have enough fixtures to test my HID lamps with. But thanks for the offer!
@@frankiel.6774
No problem.
I enjoy your videos. And you have an inspired me to start showing my light fixtures ballasts and bulbs on my channel.
I've been collecting since 2013.
I wired up first light when I was 12. My first 3 fixtures where 3ft 2 lamp fluroscent strip light
@@frankiel.6774 no i am hoping to get a ballast or a street light for christmas
Cool bulb
Thanks! It’s a very rare bulb!

I have a 1985 250w mercury vapor Phillips Westinghouse lifeguard . Came out of a mall I also got like 50 other 250 w mercury vapor and metal light bulbs. I saved them from being thrown away they came out of a LED conversion.
@@vintagetoiletstexas2443 Oh my!! That must be a mega jackpot for you saving old mercury vapor bulbs! I absolutely despise LEDs!
@@frankiel.6774
I have a little over a hundred ranging from new in box to use that I pick out of the garbage and saved from the LED disease.
I have a variety of HID bulbs
I'm the same person as vintage toilets texas I collect light fixtures from hid to fluroscent fixtures
Love this MDX bulb!!! Start up at 8:24 That color around 10:30 looks so awesome.
Watch the arc tube make this amazing transitions of colors at 10:01! Your brain is going to blow!
@@frankiel.6774 I know that transition blew my mind. It was such a subtle change. You have got an amazing bulb!
@@jeremys4984 Thanks! I’m going to try to order the Plusrite Blue/BDX metal halide lamp tomorrow and it should arrive by next weekend!
Anyone know if these wonderful colored metal halide lamps are available in Pulse start versions?? I am a metal halide buff and love watching them strike. I currently have a 400 watt pulse start metal halide fixture in my backyard, fairly new about 4 years old, and all the newer ones I've see are Pulse start with the exception of the 1000 and 1500 watt fixtures used for sports lightning.
Also I have read different forums on using probe start lamps on a Pulse start ballast, with mixed answers and results. As long as the wattage match, anyone have any experience?
I'm uploading a video of all my HID bulbs. It should be done in a few
Did you know even though the lamp says Universal burning position you can't run it base down.
What?! I did not realize that! What is the ACTUAL burning position of this bulb? Does it also apply to the Green and Blue metal halide lamps?
@@frankiel.6774 This Applies to all probe start metal halide lamps. You should run it horizontal
Not really 100 % true as you will se outdoor probe start fixture with the bulb operating vertically and those so last quite a long time
350nm
no, 350nm is Ultra Violet (UV) and is completely invisible to our eyes
Its closer to 390nm
