I love the way RC simply tells the story in its biblical context which allows you to see the intricate work of a sovereign God even in the coming of Christ. This means there can’t be tragedies for believers (Rom 8:28). Aren’t our lives more like a tapestry of joy and pain being carefully woven by God for our ultimate good and His glory? ✝️

We are called to believe God as He presents Himself in His word. Free will, human autonomy, etc., are the desires of fallen man. See our 1st parents. God is above us, our freedom is bound by His sovereign decree. That's what Scripture teaches thru out. I'm grateful my salvation & life are accdg to His perfect will, & that He enabled me to have eyes to see & ears to hear, His Spirit's call. Were it left to us, all would die in our sins. God saves a remnant accdg to the good pleasure of His will & for His glory. Creatures are Created for His glory, both in His Justice & His Mercy. Remember friends, we are all born dead in our trespasses & sins, destined to receive Justice, which is hell; Yet He chooses a remnant of fallen man to save for evermore. Seek Him & you will find Him accdg to His word, which we must take Him at.

R. C. Sproul is right that God is in all the details. But it surely doesn't follow that if Jacob hadn't given Joseph his coat there would have been no Messiah dying on a cross. God could have prepared the way for Jesus in a multitude of other ways.
In a way it kind of doesn't matter, I mean thinking of "what if's". Because *GOD's Will will Be Done* He *is* sovereign, so yes whatever God wants *will* happen.

Absolutely right. Our GOD does what He wants. If God could or could not prepare the way for Jesus is not contested; its just that God wanted to do it this way, in this very exact way, which includes the point wherein Jacob gives the coat. Of course, any other point in history would be just like this. Every single thing and thought and situation, God has wanted it to play it out like it did.
