- Look who Jason Weigandt found at the front door of the Phoenix Racing Honda shop? Jason Lawrence, fresh off a Progressive Grand National Cross Country attempt at the Yamaha Racing Ironman GNCC, is getting ready for more. He tried some laps on a supercross track and is considering racing some AMA Arenacross. And other things! Weigandt chatted with JLaw and also got a tour of the Phoenix Honda shop.

The fighters who trash talk the most get way higher ratings on paper view than fighters that don't. Same thing with J-Law. He started so much controversy that it brought in more viewership and fans to the sport! Bad publicity is still publicity.

I remember back when the great Danny Magoo Chandler needed a specially equipped van, JLaw contributed 5 or 10 Gs, I forget. But I remember thinking, that was really cool of him.

Learned a whole lot about the Phoenix Honda outfit. I had no idea who they were until a couple of months ago. That’s a fantastic operation. I hope for their success in the motocross Supercross side of things.

JLaw is squirrelly AF. Eyes darting everywhere but the camera. He was a badass MXer, better than he should have been, but he still might need some help. Hoping that I'm wrong and makes a positive comeback. Popcorn is in the maker.
It’s one of his first interviews in a while, and cameras make a lot of people awkward, even if he used to be on TV if it’s a 1 on 1 like this he could be a little stressed or something yanno.
And maybe he’s trying to make a good impression for people and a little nervous.

I’m looking forward to seeing J Law back at it. He’s one of the most naturally talented dudes we’ve seen in the past. I’m really curious to know about his childhood. He was a crazy man back in the day because, well he was a young dude that was getting paid, but also it makes me feel like he had a rough upbringing. Watching his mannerisms while talking to Weege makes me think he had a rough go as a kid.

always good to see a guy who struggled doing better, but he will always be remembered for what "could have been" and a huge talent wasted to drugs and poor attitude.
Agreed BUT, it was really nice to see him be very humble about turning up to the GNCC and how, if you could, he knew it wouldn't look good to brag about how your gonna win ahead of time. That's a level of humility and self-awareness that I suspect was lacking or ignored in/by the old Jason.

Always liked watching Lawrence races. He made it exciting and fun to watch. It was always like what's he going to do next. Never a dull moment.
So happy to see him back doing what he truly loves. It's the only thing that can keeps us mentally healthy, especially someone like JLaw. I hope he sticks with it and I hope they will continue to give him the chance.

Met him in 2009 at Daytona after the race. He signed autographs for me and my brother and some guy came up for an interview. Jlaw said I can’t I have 5 girls waiting in the rv and just rode off. Guy was a legend.

Something seems off with him. Hopefully he's just sucked dry from the gnarley racing experience he just went through, and not that he's mentally roasted and toasted like Ozzy Osbourne. Hopefully he could pull things together, and capitalize on some of that talent he has/had.
I think I crossed paths with Jason Lawrence around 20 years ago illegally riding in Lakehurst New Jersey lol.
Sounds like they gave jlaw a free apartment at the shop in return for riding for their team lol
Gonna be like my MotoWorkz race shop next to the house. Make a loft for my son when he is training during the summer and with his friends they got a place to hangout, workout, practice, and have healthy competition out in the compound. Don’t have a rig but already have the “Moto bus”

So glad to see jlaw back I almost gave up thinking he would never race again but he isn't all talk he's doing it gncc should absolutely grab jlaw with both hands as he's got a massive following I only watch moto and sx very rarely watch gncc but if jlaw is in it il be watching every weekend

I can throw a rock and hit Deegans Lake house and Bennicks his compound right down the road too weege and Blair moved here too and mcelrath is up the mtn Webb on the coast definitely cheering my NC Boys on Jordan smith can't forget him either dwn in belmont. How far from Club practice facilities?
@@MX-CO about an Hr and a half club is just below NC border it's actually in SC but it's so close you would still consider it in NC there is also south of the border mx SOB it's pretty fire compound too near Club East coast is def growing in the Moto world especially with star making the jump

Jason said what everybody else had thought and no one has said it before those whoops on the Supercross tracks, Big triples are scary shit as a rider I cant imagine doing that would be a big rush… but risk reward count..

YES ! dude I used to watch j law live YEARSSS ago.. you needed some attitude to keep it spicy, but maybe he did veer too far off the main trail -? I don't know a lot about his history and its not really my business. Just glad to see him back on a dirt bike. I feel he may bring a new matured, positive energy to the sport. Wonder if he'll make it to supercross 2025....
