Fyro T22 Kickstarter Update (3 BIG Improvements to the bag!)

- Hey everyone!
Aaron here. Just wanted to give you all an update of where we are with the campaign and to also tell you about some AWESOME improvements we are making to the bag (thanks to our community suggestions).

Our Bagme development team, and TheSANG factory have all been following the campaign extremely closely, and are ready to get things into motion once the funds are released from Kickstarter.
This means that so far, everything is looking great on the timeline :)
NEW BAG IMPROVEMENTS
The comments section has been an incredible source of excitement and great ideas for how we can improve the T22.
Some things we are currently working on are...
#1 - Adding a weatherproof DWR coating the the zippers on the main compartment and pack panel pockets (100% set in stone)
#2 - Adding a second hypalon attachment point on the right shoulder strap (100% set in stone)
#3 - Making an add-on, high-quality rain cover that will perfectly fit the bag (50/50 right now)
#4 - Solidifying a surprise/new accessory that will be delivered with the bag (100% set in stone)
#5 - Implementing a 400K stretch goal (more details coming soon!)

I want to be clear that we won't be able to implement every suggestion, only things that won't require any new testing. For example, adding a DWR spray to the zippers doesn't require us making a new sample because we know it won't compromise anything about the bag as currently designed.

I'm so happy for yall!! Unfortunately I will not be getting a Fyro bag myself as it does not suit my current carry needs, but I'm hoping for the huge success of this brand and the release of new models in the future. Congratulations on the launch!!!

I am sure so many great viewer ideas can be exciting, as well as, overwhelming. Most of us watch your channel because of your great videos and bag experience. Remember to stay true to yourself and your vision as you read these many ideas…..it is your bag and a few thousand of us already are waiting for our own to arrive. I can’t wait! Quick question are you able to change out the zipper pulls? Curious I like to get a different color to easily spot out my bag. Picked up a day one edition and can’t wait!
thanks mate! And we are actually working on a solution that WILL allow you to change out the zipper pulls, but it's still in development right now. More updates coming soon!
I'm team easy pull zipper, so I'm hoping the dwr on the zips doest make them stiff like aqua guards. Rain covers are the only way in truly wet environments. People can have all the aquagards and waterproof laminates all they want but if a bag has stitches the rain rolls over the fabric right into the seams. Only way around it is a dry bag rolltop lol. I'll trade everyday joy of usability for less than 1% use case all day.

Im like the bag, need two bottle water pouches that doesn't take from internal space(protein and hydration), room for two meal preps, pair of shoes change of clothes, towel, toiletries, and laptop.
Really like the 'Stealth' look.

Here’s my part to the feasibility study: rain covers never get used. Nobody goes outside in a rain shower. They wait it out. Especially with a high end bag carrying any expensive gear. Rain covers are ugly and are tossed in a closet the day the bag arrives. By the slim chance you need it, it’s in your closet while you’re at the airport. Name two people you have ever seen wearing the rain cover. Besides, if the bag is worth it, it should be resistant to rain on its own.
appreciate your perspective! Rain covers are slightly more common in densely urban areas where people live out of their backpacks (like where I am in Hong Kong) but I agree that its overkill for the common person, and the bag is quite water resistant as is. That's why we'll add it as an add-on and anyone who wants one can pick it up 💪
guess i’m the rare paranoid person. I hardly walk around outside with my current edc bag, yet! i still own and carry a rain cover for my current bag. They compress small and weigh little. I have used it a couple times. I know there are truly waterproof bags out there, but they’re not really EDC bags imho. Some are more for bike commuters, or there’s bags like Wandrd’s which are pretty cool, but just don’t do it for me re: my type of storage organization.
in the case here of the T22, I am more concerned about the hatch’s weather resistance since it doesn’t have its own zipper under the hatch.
@@edisoncarter thanks for your comment! And I agree, rain covers can be great for the right person as you said since they are so light and easy to pack. The Hatch is quite water resistant - the materials are all water repellent and most of the compartment is covered. Having said that, there is still a gap between the lid and the fabric on the sides. This is the case with many backpacks with lids, there's usually a small gap somewhere. But we did plenty of rain/water test, and as long as the bag is being worn on your back (aka, not tilted on it's side) then the chances of rain entering are slim. And for extra peace of mind, we'll be offering the rain cover for those crazy monsoon days :)

Hi Fyro and team, when i saw your custom detachable water bottle holder, it spark some ideas into my my head... Is it possible to make a custom side handle? Or a tripod holder? Or some stretchable kangaroo pouch for extra carry by hooking a pouch from both sides of the backpack ? Just some crazy idea u know.
LOVE the ideas, and def something we are considering. The attachment points could allow for a lot of modular components/carry options and we plan to look into testing some ideas out in the near future 💪
@@Fyro_official yes but the only drawback is, it would cover the hatch which is the signature of t22.

I really appreciate whatever will be added as the surprise for backers of the bag, makes it feel even more special! Can all the zippers be PU coated? Would love that in case it’s possible
our goal is to take care of you as much as we can. As for all PU coated zippers, we are following industry trends right now where main compartments are not PU coated (but will have DWR spray) and front/tech compartment have the PU coating :)
I was wondering if any of the fabrics used in the pack have a PU (polyurethane) coating or treatment on them? This would include the inner linings as well as outer panels etc. Thanks!
As far as I know, no. Our 330D Kodra Nylon has a polycarbonate (PC) finish (much more durable), and our 600D Polyster has a non-toxic PVC coating as well, but no PU. We try to avoid PU at all costs since it peels over time.
I use TSA-approved locks on my backpack just in case I get separated from my pack. Even though your zippers are lockable, I don't see how I can use my locks... can I still use my locks?
Great question! Our zipper heads are not currently lockable with TSA locks, but let me see if this is a change we can make (no promises though, just to be transparent)

Where is the leather and wax canvas heritage version? Stretch goal? Looking forward to the version where the hatch can come off the main bag and be a sling. 😊
that's a really cool idea! But we'd have to actually make a T22 out of leather and waxed canvas to test how those materials fit with the design of the bag, which we unfortunately don't have time for right now. Maybe a few years down the line we'll have the resources to make that happen, thank you!
Would have been cool for it to have some reflective strip on the back or shoulder straps so that it's easily visible at night. But that would take away the matte black look so it's fine just the way it is

would you consider to have some form of removeable hip belt attractment ?
great question! Unfortunately at this point we are too far along and there is nowhere to attach one. To have that included it would have needed to have been in the design since day 1. The good news though is that most people don't need a hip belt for a bag this size. But for a 30+ liter travel bag? All day!
@@Fyro_official hmmm what about thinking about nomatic backpack/travel 's approach of sewing a loop thingly so they can just clip on the hip belt.
i'm just curious about the simple option .
hmm another question is would there be great fatigue(straining shoulder etc ) if we carry the bag with a full load ( heavy laptop and other heavier tech gear) while walking for long distances . its my only concern xD since there isnt a hip belt , which i understand there wouldn't be one for a bag of this size.
@@polarbear619 there actually isn't much space to put even loops with the way we've designed the shoulder strap connection and the hidden back pockets. I can't say for sure how comfortable you will find the bag, but comfort was our #1 priority, so the well-padded shoulder straps, breathable back panel, and included magnetic sternum strap should hopefully get the job done for longer distances!
Would love to have handles on both sides of this amazing piece of equipment
Once we make a travel bag it will ABSOLUTELY have side handles, but for an EDC we didn't think it was necessary. Plus it's impossible to add with the Hydrolock and the expansion zipper cutting right down the middle

How do you stow the shoulder straps behind the luggage pass through? Can the shoulder straps be disconnected, or aren't they permanently connected from one end to the other?
You can see he extended the shoulder straps long enough to go up and then go down behind the luggage pass-through.

What do you think about adding a patch?
I think patches look great on certain types of bags like outdoors-y/crossover bags (like Evergoods) and ESPECIALLY on tactical bags (like GORUCK). But when it comes to more work/urban bags, patches usually aren't used so that bags can have a cleaner/sleeker aesthetic. What do you think, would this bag look good with a patch?
@@Fyro_official Honestly not sure Aaron, I think the matte black thingy is enough because it looks sleeker, but I was thinking more of an OG founder patch type situation for the backers, before it hits retail. Or maybe like a simple tag within the bag that shows which production number it is sorta - if you get what I mean? Like some sort of hidden memorabilia part for the early backer - not necessary but just a suggestion.

for sure! It will be available on Kickstarter for 19 more days (at a heavy discount), then it will transition to a pre-launch (at a lower discount), then in 2025 we'll launch our website and you can but it there (but at no discount). Let me know if I can clarify anything else!
