Im a huge fan of merciless. I used to have an offensive toxapex with venoshock. It was pretty fun but not too viable

Comfey is actually quite good. It's fast, has calm mind stored power for poison types and priority draining kiss boosted by big root is gonna keep it alive

Yo it's rly crazy, every Emvee live is just pure destruction on the Ladder.
My fav mon is Flygon and so levitate holds a special place in my heart. Being inmune to both spikes an toxic spikes without having a weakness to stealthrock is pretty wicked. The other one I really like is pressure, to PP stall those dirty passive stallers.

My favorite ability probably has to be Technician, it’s so fun to be able to make lower power moves turn into some of the strongest in the game.
I never knew you recorded on a laptop! My favorite ability is Sheer Force because it's basically just a free life orb and you can run another life orb on top of that. It also removes a lot of hax, even if its hax that benefits you.
Yeah, sheer force is very cool but I've never understood the logic behind it, it is really a weird ability.
Juanra isn’t it kinda obvious? The mons that have it are all about sheer force, no other crap meaning they don’t need the hax so they just opt for more BP on their moves
@@nomongosinthaworld I mean the life orb effect or rather the non-damage effect. And while we're at it, what is the logic behind not being able to trigger some of your opponent items or abilities? you have the sheer force, not them.
Finally Emvee uses the GOAT of all normals. Loved using Exploud in draft league back in gen 7. It got so many kills.
it's such a fun pokemon to use, always a go-to for me whenever i feel like starting a new save in my old gen 3 ruby version

Scarf starmie is pretty heat, it gets flip turn and trick. Pretty good utility with water stab, modest scarf is faster than +1 volcarona, so if you get starmie in on volc you can trick them. Also, no one expects you're scarf so if you like to live dangerously you can one hit cinderace that hasn't changed typing yet IF they don't sucker punch, but most people just u turn in my experience. Still not really safe but something to consider
Utility support Starmie, Flip Turn, Rapid Spin, Trick, and... Twave/scald. Go the extra step and run Analytic to hit something harder after tricking a scarf onto them. (Hyrdo Pump, Zap Cannon, Meteor Beam for more offensive options.)

@@CigaretteCrayon you might as well just have the power herb in the first place. Hawlucha isn't that popular for OU anymore, so having meteor beam to counter ONE unpopular Pokémon is extremely niche. Not to mention hawlucha is weak to psychic, so it would switch before you use trick.

Hasty Nature
- Ice Beam
- Rock Slide
- Gunk Shot
- U-turn
With ice beam you can OHKO landorus and garchomp. 2 of the most common leads in the entire meta. It's also good pressure in general for ground/rock/flying/grass and dragons.
Rock Slide mainly for volcarona and charizard-Y and X but also other flying types like tornadus.
Gunk Shot for all the tapu's, they where all very prominent so catching them was immense. Tapu fini, tapu Koko and scarf tapu lele where all used to check or offensively check specs battle bond greninja. So if you chipped those you could ko them.
U-turn for momentum and pressure for the many psychic/dark types in the tier like mega alakazam or other greninja's.
This set in particular really put in work for my team and glued it together nicely.
Because choice specs battle bond greninja was such a big threat, most people didn't think about scarf or couldn't afford to, because if they risk it being battle bond and it gets it, it would be very hard to bounce back from that.

@@danielscully449 he is a Gen 3 Mon and back then we still didn't have the physical special split on a per move basis. All Normal Type moves were physical and I assume that's why they gave him so much Atk.

They really had a knack for making all the dark types physical attackers when it was typed as special. Makes no sense really since the first real dark type special attackers came in gen 4...
My favorite abilities are the ones with the cool names lol: Adaptability, Beast Boost, Delta Stream, Full Metal Body, Gorilla Tactics, Mirror Armor, Neuroforce, Parental Bond, Power Construct, Power of Alchemy, Prism Armor, Protean, RKS System, Symbiosis, Teravolt, Turboblaze, Unseen Fist, Victory Star (that’s a lot! Sorry)

Frisk, knowledge of the opposing pokemon's items is extremely important, and it's top priority for me to have a pokemon with that item in my team ^_^.
After that I would probably put it as a tie between oblivious and aroma veil. not getting taunted while i'm setting up trick room (my favourite strategy) is probably one of the most glorious feelings ever. :) Congratulations on another great video Emvee!

I learned a lot from watching this video twice.
Thinking about what tends to be run and how you can punish it, seems just as important as what strat you want to impose on your opponent.
Doubling up switches to manipulate prediction if definitely a skill that separates intermediate players from all the beginners.
Been playing Showdown since December 2019, played more for fun at first, then slightly more seriously cause time "afforded" by corona etc, am a 1250 / 55% player on my own not really knowing anything about meta or tiers, just from changing my teams based on my own battles (never played OU tho).
I think with this knowledge I can take myself into that intermediate level, thanks.
As for this team the only thing that worries me is that although Togekiss can tank all fighting moves, and there's good def bulk, 4/6 pokemon are weak to fighting. I wonder is SP. Atk Fighting moves would become a problem.

personal favorite abilities are tied between adaptability, bad dreams, and steelworker. adaptability gives such an awesome power boost to mons without breaking their coverage moves, bad dreams punishing sleep makes for a really cool chip dynamic on a mon that gamefreak unfortunately destroyed ;c, and steelworker and the idea of giving mons thematic triple stab is super interesting and I hope more mons get something like it
speaking of, I would also like to see the Porygon Z live or dhelmise, although I forget if it's in this gen. decidueye w/ grassy glide/trapping/swords dance/leaf blade + rillaboom sounds super fun too

Poison Heal is certainly my favorite. Status immunity, double Leftovers recovery, free boosted Facade, that's a good deal for just a single ability. Part of the reason Toxapex is getting outta control now is because Gliscor isn't around to put it in its place.
The ability illusion (zoroark has it). It's such a wonderful ability and I love to play mind games with it

I really love Unburden, there are so many cool strategies to consume an item and double your speed. Sub Belly Drum Slurpuff with a 33% berry (So weird to say that now!) is such fun to use with screens support. Great vid as always Emvee!

@@garyoak1390 If a Zeraora is Bulk Up + Drain Punch, Mamoswine and Urshifu can survive a +1 hit and KO back with Earthquake or Wicked Blow. If the Zeraora is Bulk Up + Close Combat, you'll need to do some pivoting around and weaken it enough with Ferrothorn and Rocky Helmet Slowbro. This will put it in range of Urshifu's Sucker Punch and/or Mamoswine Ice Shard :] It's a big threat either way though.

Dunno what to do

My most favourite one is Protean (or Libero which makes no sense to be Protean). It's very helpful in both being offensive and defensive. Other favourites are Arena Trap(and similar trapping abilities), Wonder Guard, Beast Boost, Adaptability, Speed Boost, Swift Swim(and similar), Clear Body, Intimidate, Tinted Lens, Contrary, Trace, Water Absorb (and similar type immunity abilities), Guts, Huge and Pure Power, Mold Breaker, Neutralizing Gas, Moxie, Prankster, Skill Link, Technician and Tough Claws.
Sorry if my list is so long but I can't leave off any of these abilities from my list. Also contributing to the CZcams algorithm matching to make Lord Emvee reach 50k soon

Favorite ability there's so many I like. I like Moxie because it really gives you momentum, contrary on serperior because it's such a beast, sheer force on nidoking and darmanitan because of the power, sand rush/sand force because of it gives the Pokémon so much advantage etc. I guess I just like abilities that boost damage.

I love corrosion conceptually and have tried so hard to make salazzle work in stall. The feeling of power as toxapex, ferrothorn, or corviknight slowly dies of poison is wonderful.

I tried a doubles Trick Room team with this at the start of the season - Eject Button Intimidate Gyarados, Relaxed Trick Room Telepathy Gardevoir, Specs Exploud, Soundproof Body Press Kommo-o, Gear Grind Trick Room Klinklang and Freeze-Dry Lapras. I won 10 games in a row (2 casual to practice, then I went into ranked), then lost 8 of the following 10.
It worked quite well as a team that the opponent did not expect to be Trick Room, so they usually did not try to stop it and instead focused on using Airstream or Tailwind in turn 1. They usually went for my Gyarados (I like to think it being shiny contributed to that) which gave Exploud a safe switch-in. Against other Trick Room teams, I could counter-Room and then I was usually faster.
33:08 this is why teleport slowbro should have 0 speed IVs, the slower teleporter has to pick first and this way you make it a coinflip at worst rather than "winning" on speed

I really like contrary as an ability. Powerful moves usually have stat drops as a drawback, but now strong moves power you up even more!
In drayano's ROM hacks, serperior is grass dragon. Contrary with Draco meteor and leaf storm is exactly how scary you think it id

Ahhh Exploud. Such a fun Pokemon ;). Maybe try Fake Tears version (Exploud learns this) with hazards in, especially Sticky Web? As I doubt anything would enjoy taking hits from this guy with -2 defenses. And if they switch? Hazards are there to stuck up damage.
And favourite ability? Hmmm... hard to choose that specific one. I would say No Guard. It's not the most useful one (not even close), but knowing that hax won't screw you over no matter the attack is simply that appealing. And nothing frustrated more than that crucial miss, which made you loose a game.
My favorite ability is technician. Such a fun way to power up attacks. My fave user is probably special persian or special ambipom! So many people never see it coming :)
Favorite ability? Magic Bounce. Gotta love hitting the hazard setters and t-wavers with a swift return to sender.
Pickup is definitely my favorite. I do a fair amount of challenge runs and the steady flow of items is always a real help

QOTD Abilities in general are my favorite part of individual pokemon. Infiltrator is a favorite of mine (lots of showdown rage) along with any ability that changes the type of normal moves like pixilate

I like wet skin / volt absorb / sap sipper. Those style abilities. Especially when it gives you an immunity that wouldn’t normally be a resist like Toxicroak or even remove a weakness like Azu
I love all abilities that you can build develop a build around that wouldnt otherwise exist. Abilities like skill link, technician, guts, wonder guard and even emergency exit in a way.
The RNG against Babasouko triggered me watching more than I'd like to admit for someone spectating a battle LOL
