Regarding Clayton Ravine: in the standard timeline Marty remembers the story of a teacher dying there. Doc going back changed it because he agreed to pick up Clara, so didn’t need to “rescue” her. Marty going back changed it again by altering how Doc and Clara met. It’s a little tricky but it makes sense if you think about it from the perspective of travelers from each timeline/era.

3:40 The company was Western Union.
16:00 Here's how one of the Bobs explained it: Timeline 1 -- Nobody has gone back to 1885, and Clara fell into the ravine.
Timeline 2 -- Only Doc is back in 1885. He picked her up from the train stop as promised. Buford Tannen shoots Doc at the festival (Saturday evening) and Doc dies two days later. Marty, younger Doc, and Copernicus see the gravestone with Clara's legend.
Timeline 3 -- The timeline of the film.
The photograph is of the gravestone of Timeline 2, where Clara was never in any danger of falling in the ravine. Doc and Marty's memory of "Clayton Ravine" is a discontinuity, a goof.
17:15 Yes, "yellow" means essentially the same as "chicken". I first heard it in the 1979 movie "Popeye".
30:40 Driving backwards was potentially as dangerous as racing, especially spinning around. I wonder why they always turn around, often twice, in these films.
31:10 Eventually, one gives into temptation. Remember the pair-o-docs scene of film 2.

    • @cbuchner6862
      @cbuchner6862 Před 6 měsíci +1

His memory is not a goof. It's established that they retain memories of previous timelines since they're not technically part of it when it changes. Marty still remembers his previous life, Doc didn't recall almost meeting himself, etc.

Great Reaction...... To this Awesome Story/Trilogy....
Part 1 was made in 1985, intended to be a stand alone movie.... They added "To be Continued" as a Joke......
Except for a 3 week break between parts 2 & 3, the sequels were made from February 1989 - January 1990.
Parts 2 & 3 were Released 6 months apart (Nov 1989 & May 1990) witch is why the trailer/commerical for Part III was at the end of Part II (Even in the Theaters)........
When Marty was eating dinner at the McFly Farm, he was spitting out the lead pellets from a shotgun that was used to kill the bird.... A true fact that most movies leave out...
The Old Men in the Saloon are "Side-Kicks" from TV Westerns of the 1960's-1970's....
The band at the Festival, who twirls the drum, is ZZ Top....
The Stove door (bullet-Proof Vest), is a call back from Part 2 when Biff was in the hot tub, "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" was on TV, a Movie in which starred Clint Eastwood.....
After this Trilogy there was a "Back to the Future" Saturday morning cartoon where Doc Brown Time Travelled in the Train Time Machine.....

When the third movie came out for video rental, we rented all three movies on VHS tape and had a "back to back to Back to the Future marathon". There's the train tracks Marty walked in on and several privately-owned homesteads around, but if you want Hill Valley, this is _it._ The _whole city_ in _one shot._ Not long before this, it was a one-horse town. Marty could walk to the very center and see the city limit in all four cardinal directions.

18:25 This movie's recurrent references to Jules Verne led me, once upon a time, to a brief interest in this particular futurist. • @lazyperfectionist1
    @lazyperfectionist1 Před měsícem

Consider, the DeLorean itself was actually in 1955 four different times.
First, there's the DeLorean that carried 1985 Marty back to 1955 in part 1.
Second, there's the DeLorean that 2015 Biff drove back to deliver the almanac to 1955 Biff.
Third, there's the DeLorean that 1985 Doc and 1985 Marty took back to 1955 to stop him.
But forth, there's the DeLorean that 1985 Doc buried in 1885 that 1955 Doc and 1985 Marty unearthed in 1955.

13:43 "He _saved_ her. So it's _okay_ for him to be with her, because she would have _died,_ anyways."
Yeah. You know, that's a possibility they did not give _nearly_ enough consideration. Marty suggests to Doc that they can take Clara to 1985 _with_ them, and Doc dismisses it because such an act strikes him as _selfish._ I would say it's more accurate to call it "convenient."
You could say it was an act of selfishness that compelled Doc to rescue Clara in the first place. That led to the creation of a new timeline that, otherwise, would not have existed. But how tricky would it be to bring Clara to the future in such a way as to _restore_ the public perception of the original timeline? Could they do that?

Fun Fact: Clint Eastwood was asked for permission about his name being used for Marty (Michael J. Fox) in the film. He consented and was said to be tickled by the homage.
Historical Fact: Marty (Michael J. Fox) uses a "Frisbie's" pie plate to knock a gun out of Mad Dog's (Tom Wilson) hand. In 1871, the Frisbie Pie Company started in Connecticut. Their pie pans were thrown on the campus of Yale, and this eventually lead to the invention of Frisbees.
Music Enthusiast Fact: ZZ Top was asked to be the town band. During one take, the camera broke. While waiting for the camera to be repaired, Michael J. Fox asked if they would play Hey Good Lookin' (1951) by Hank Williams, which they did. Afterwards, more requests were played. Two hours later, someone inquired if the camera had been repaired. Robert Zemeckis replied that it had been fixed for quite a while, he just didn't want to stop the party that had evolved.

it's not over. The story continues in a different form of continuation. no more movies but the story continues beyond part 3 in each of the following sequels:
Back to the Future the game
Back to the Future the animated series
Back to the Future the ride
    Back in Time documentary movie
Dog brown saves the world 10 minute short film
Back to the future comics which take place both after part 3 and before like how Marty and Doc met. along with comic stories of what happened in-between films like Docs visit to the future before picking Marty up at the end of the first movie and Biffs evil timeline with betting on sports before Marty came and changed it etc.....
The multi franchise universal studio crossover movie with a multi universe of universal properties. A cross over between franchises and Doc must use time travel to save a girl from a different movie franchise from dying while saving the world and it's economy from being in ruin.
Last but most certainly not least and most recent sequel that is the closest you'll ever get to a part 4 is Back to the Future the musical. If you like musical plays. You'll love doing a CZcams review of the musical. No spoilers but it's the only thing just as good if not better then the first movie itself. The others I mentioned above are great and worth watching but not as good as the trilogy. However the musical serpasses the films and does spectacular with the Back To The Future nostalgia. Go see it. It's touring all over the US. It started in London, then it went to Broadway, now it's on a North America tour, and it plans to move to Japan in 2025.

Do it if you can, you'll catch up some details that you may have missed along the way. I liked all 3 for various reasons. 1--this was something new, 2-because it integrate parts of the 1st one in it, and 3-because it ends the trilogy and it ties loose ends (Neddles and the car accident)--doc told a bit abut the accident, but not the details--but he entered the exact date of the accident for Marty's return in 1985 (so he had to figure things out by himself). Yes, but back then, trains were given nicknames, like "the Cannonball," "the Comet," or "Man o' War." Cannonball Ravine isn't a bad name.
Edit: I just looked it up. The train in BTTF3 was called the "Sierra #3." So... Sierra Ravine?

🥸👍 There are quite a few things in this film that don't make any sense at all. Of course, there's absolutely no logical reason in the universe why his great great great grandmother on his FATHER'S side of the family would resemble his mother at all, let alone be a perfect clone of her. The other one that I have a hard time getting around is the fact that in reality, there is no such thing as a drive-in theater with a flat parking area, or a center isle with no speaker poles. They all have rows of berms that tilt the cars up towards the screen. It's nearly impossible to go any faster than 5 miles per hour inside one, let alone 88. In spite of all that, it's still a fun movie.
