- How to make a 2x4 C&C Cage for 2-3 guinea pigs. This is an easy DIY modular one level cage to build for your piggies. We also show you how to cut the coroplast (or correx) and the measurements you'll need. We show you the finished set up complete with the bedding and accessories your #guineapigs will need. Finished cage measures approx 146 x 73cm (inner measurements are approx 143cm x 71cm)

Yes, you can build 2 levels but it's a bit more complicated - check out our video here on how to build a 2x4 cage with a 2x1 loft - it can be adapted to create a larger cage and larger loft - the same principal in building it will apply :) czcams.com/video/FSZTrkIF4DE/video.html
I'm considering making quite a big c&c cage, can you stand in c&c cages if they are on the floor or will you ruin the base?
You can stand in C&C cages providing you just have the coroplast as a base. Some people add grids as a base too but it's not necessary for a single level or the lower level of a double storey :) ... watch out for the poops though... :D

Is there any other material I could use for my c&c cage?. I can't find any coroplast in the shops in my town.
I seen someone use pond liner and water proof tablecloth , this could be used as an idea. Look up if it’s 100% ok

If I get the chloroplast off Amazon will they have it rolled up or will they fold it so it scores where they folded it..?

How big does the Coroplast need to be?
Hi Adriana, you'll need 173x101cm for a 2x4 grid C&C cage. You'll need to mark 15cm in from each edge and follow the instructions in the video on how to score/fold/cut - these act as the sides. I hope that helps :)

Do you especially need a coroplas or I don’t know how it’s called but do u need it or can you just put a blanket?
It depends on the surface you're putting it on. If your flooring can't be damaged by urine then you can just put a fleece liner in the bottom. If it's going on carpet or wooden flooring you could use some waterproof sheet such as tarpaulin and then put the fleece liner on top. I wouldn't recommend doing this for an upper level though.
how do they get out , is there a door?
My wife and I are thinking of making our own c and c cage to maximize a spot in our house that would also give our two piggies more room. I notice people overlap panels on each other with zip ties to get a specific size, any tips on that?
We might do a video on how to make a C&C cage a specific size using zip ties as many people do it this way :)

You can but if you can make a 2x5grid cage that would be better :)

If you want to you can also have a two story 2x4 as that is what I have rn for my four boys (two on top, two on bottom). They really love all the new space! Ofc this is if you are thinking about getting more than two and don’t have quite enough room to make a 2x5z
what is the length of this cage in cm?
Hi Maya, the INNER measurements, which is the space the guinea pigs have to run around in works out at approximately 68cm x 142cm and the OUTER measurements are approx 73cm x 146cm. Hi, my friend has 3 outdoor piggies and she’d like to make them a c&c cage for the winter, what size would you recommend?
3 piggies ideally need a cage that is 2 grids x 5 grids but you could get away with a 2x4 if they are girls. Bigger is always better. You might find this page helpful - it tells you all about C&C cages www.guineapiggles.co.uk/c-and-c-cages-for-guinea-pigs
