This album is a work of art that you may or may not be lucky enough to discover how great it is. I really hope that all of you reading this will understand the beauty of this album one day.

    • @TheWorld-MyOyster
      @TheWorld-MyOyster Před 22 dny +3

      Key words to emphasize though: *a work of ART*
      You’re correct, Kendrick is a pure *artist* in every sense of the word - artistic genius though, is not the same as *rap* genius, that’s the issue that hip hop purists have with this topic. Kendrick does *NOT* meet the mark of what a rap purist would define as the greatest or most skilled rapper, he’s a talented rapper for sure, his pen is highly respectable most definitely, but he is, by far, not the best to ever do it nor does he come close to having what could be considered an untouchable or even nearly untouchable pen.
      Like I said in another comment, Michael Jackson is regarded as untouchable artistic musical royalty, but he has never been regarded as being an untouchable singer when talking about technical skill, or even range vocally.
      Creative genius and technical skill are 2 entirely different things and that’s where y’all take the wrong turn in these conversations cause y’all are classing them as being the synonymous when that couldn’t be further from reality.

Kendrick’s lyrical ability, storytelling, wordplays, metaphores r amazing. Plus his last album is a whole therapy, he shows that he’s a great artist too next to his rap abilities. The price of having a spot in Heaven, embrace your loss-I am God." these lines give me chills every time and i love it so much. Its not even just the lyrics themselves, but more so his delivery. I am not a Christian and would not consider myself anywhere near religious, but this is beautiful. I think it is the most accurate portrayal of God and/or Jesus when looking at the bible in any media ever. That is also why HMaDC is easily in my top three favorite kendrick songs. This made me respect Dot even more, but also Push bc he understood the 'control' verse. The only ppl that should have felt offended (but really shouldn't but I'll give it to them) we're ppl that weren't named ( *cough* Lupe 😂😂😂). For Drake to become a lil 304 over that verse is what birthed what were seeing today.....Aubrey and his lack of self-control over his emotions will always his downfall.

    kendrick is one of the only rappers that has already avoided many of the materialism downfalls, but feels a responsibility. something most artists or rappers ever try. A kanye, or a drake, both have put off responsibilities and have went to the absurd, and meanwhile I see kendrick sit with rick rubin, just talking quietly and calmly.
    He represents a much higher part of spirituality and walking the boring long-term sucessful route. Kendrick will never stop improving if it goes like that. I can't think of a single rapper that has been to de-materialize the matters of their life and move within themselves and stay consistent with it. it's amazing. he is winning but it ain't glamourous. he's just a good study of life in general.

    great video! you hooked me with the opening line, "kendrick lamar is better at rapping than anyone you know is at anything," but how much do you really believe it? i would tend to agree but it's interesting how competition is so fundamental to rap and hip hop as an art form.

    Im really glad I watched this video. I did not believe someone could write about how much of an amazing rapper and artist Mr. Duckworth truly is in such a short video essay, but yet you did in 23 minutes. The comparison with Rubrick's cubes and Kendrick's album is magnificent as they are both complex to understand how to solve at first and require growing your understanding of things to do so!

    He actually became OkLama, which is why at the beginning of the heart part five, he states I am all of us, because in the original language it comes from, OkLama means “my people.” I am all of us, I am all my people, which he says (all my people) at the beginning of the song. Mr Morale is the idea of what we held him to be, or the “savior” which he consistently tells us he’s not. And The big steppers is maybe who he perceives himself to be, I’m not sure.

    No one can tell me a good drakes album besides thank me later and take care, I haven't seen him featured as an artist for a blockbuster movie album, and only has a couple of memorable songs tbh (mentioned early from his old albums), he also got good mainstream but still, Kendrick is just another lvl, has a full album featured for one of the biggest black culture movie, 2 albums considered the best in rap history and one which is not the biggest but on a personal lvl, you can connect to him to which not every artist has done, Kendrick is just big HIM!

    I grew up in south central, Watts “ The Garden”… i had to deal with random fights and gunshots twice a week.. waking up dead midnight on the floor hoping the bullets won’t hit us. 20y old, I decided to move to SF to study and get away from the violence. Although I wasn’t affiliated in the gangs I was in the background hoping not to get seen but I need to to avoid the “where you from” .. I was 15, I had no choice but to embrace it. I changed my life, moved away from watts and into Downey. Better than living in The garden.
    That being said “untitled unmastered”. Is top of my favorite K Dots albums. Mad love to Ken. He really gave me a better perspective path, unbecoming Mad in my own world.❤🙏
