I guess I'm old school. I know who's accessing my property without a camera and suggest everyone that can do also. I like the cameras for security

I need a solar powered camera system to prevent theft on our coffee farm. 24/7 recording, cloud based. What would you recommend?

I am sure you can incorporate a solar powered power source. Check out this video that should give you some suggestions. czcams.com/video/nPGL4NRzFKE/video.html

We build these type systems all the time. We can do a set up where you have 1 internet fee and blanket your farm with Wi-Fi to connect all your cameras with out having a hotspot for every camera.
Your way is kinda working backwards.

great video, this helped a lot. my dad and i are looking at starting a homestead/small personal-use farm in upstate new york on about 7 acres. we've been talking about security cam applications and we're trying to figure out a way to have all our main entrances to the property plus all the crops and pens that are likely to be hit up by thieves or predators covered 24/7. is it one of those things where it's a one-time expense if you get the cameras right or are we better off hiring a consultant who's knowledgeable about these things?

I like the idea of the WiFi hotspot, but I have multiple locations, and that hotspot isn't going to reach each one, so I don't want to pay $20 a month for six separate hot spots, I also prefer cloud services because people can just break the camera and the storage device

Totally see your point. Check out this Thursdays video on TIps and Tricks. We talk about an easy way to keep you control room locked. They can probably break your camera but not the storage device if its locked up. Which means they will be on camera as they break the camera. LOL

I want to be able to monitor to see if I got a feed spill or a water leak from my drops from the main line

Why doesn’t he talk about solar ones and the best ones?

This was just a take from his personal experience, not an exhaustive list of all security camera options. I'm sure there are a lot of great solar options out there too!
