Ok, let me tell y'all about my grandmother. She grew up in the Great Depression in a military family, and when I say military I mean military. Her father was a Colonel, her one brother was an Admiral, and she married a Brigadier General/OSS officer, so you know she could kick ass.
After the war, in which she probably did a good deal gathering information, she had six kids, all of which were born in September because her husband was off fighting some war or other and was only home at Christmas.
She raised those six kids, as well as half of the kids in the neighbourhood, while writing a column interviewing famous people who visited Hawaii, and in 20 or so years she was writing, she was only turned down once. So she has met, and interviewed, people ranging from mother Teresa to Elvis and back again.
After her husband died of his sixth or so heart attack, she retired, and she only died at ninety after she ripped the oxygen mask from her face so she could die on her own terms.
In summary, Grandma Mi was a fucking badass!

Re: Eleanor Roosevelt tolerating her husband's cheating. Some historians believe there's a good chance that she was a lesbian or at the very least bi, as there's evidence her closest female friend was actually her lover. Not like, a ton of evidence (as they'd have to keep it extremely private) but enough that it's a distinct possibility.

+Haphazardization He's been really good on almost every episode of the podcast he appears in. New Guy Weekly was pretty hit or miss(especially for the early episodes while he was still finding his comedic timing/ defining his character for the series), which is a shame since that was everyone's first impression of him.

I did my high school American Government term paper on Edith Wilson, mostly because I thought she was a badass to have run the country and kept the vice president out (she thought he was crap) back in the early '20s. I love her. I'm pretty sure I got an A on that paper.

I'm from the UK and I visited DC a few years ago and was really excited to go to the smithsonian. Very disappointing to see that there was an exhibition on Eleanor Roosevelt... 's dresses.

I was hoping Edith Wilson would be in here. Ever since I learned about her in middle school I've considered her the coolest first lady ever. It's one thing to be a proactive, hard-working woman. It's an entirely different thing to be running the country on the down low like a grade-A boss.

Roselynn Carter was a major class act. In Carter's time the mental health service Centers were born, which kept many of the homeless and drug addicted out of jail, and gave poor people a place to get help with disturbed children and the elderly. I worked at one of those centers in the waning years of Carter's time, and the money disappeared when the Carters did. I think she was the core of the movement itself.
6 kids? My grandma had 13, two sets of twins included while keeping a spotless house, maintaining a full garden and canning tons of food.
