Lady Madonna and Monday (Mum and Baby) Koalas are Released Back into the Bush.

- Lady Madonna and Monday (who turned out to be a little boy) were rescued from the Scott Creek fire zone. Mum and baby boy both had burns from the fires, but after being in care with Adelaide and Hills Koala Rescue for some time the day has come when they are finally released. And here's the video. Although it's sad to have to say goodbye, there is no greater feeling than returning a koala (or in this case koalas) to their rightful place in the Australian bush. Interestingly, with every release, the emancipated koalas always stop and look back as if to say thank you. Hope you enjoy the video.

Such a lovely sight to see but also so sad to see them re released. I do know they have to be released again. Hopefully, praying that they will survive. God bless these little sweet creatures. God bless all the injured animals as well. So many animals of different species died in those bushfires. None of them deserved this. The Australian government really needs to step up with a solution to these fires from happening again. God bless and thank you to the rescuers and taking care of them in their time of need
Maybe the Australian government needs to listen to the natives of Australia on how to prevent those fires. The natives have been trying to let them know for years now.
They looked hesitant as of they didn't trust wild life in Australia any more...would you after being in a fire like that?

I agree. I follow a wildlife rescue in the UK and most of the animals take off like a shot when they are released. No hesitation.
Do you leave the cage for them ? I would I would leave the cage without the door on it for them for safety feeling. The Poor babies
They stop and look back because they like people now! Thanks for working hard to save these guys. I just wish when you let them go you would look up to find the best tree for them, they don't seem to look up much! Just saying there might be better choices around.
The little seem to go up the nearest tree no matter.
We always put lots of effort into making sure they're in a suitable area, but often they'll go up the worst looking tree around. But they'll come back down once they realise and find a good one ....

They choose a small tree. Not much rest spots or branches.
Please are the burnt trees going to get rehabilitated at some point, so the koalas can return to their former homes?
The trees will recover surprisingly quickly. But not quick enough for the koalas... Many survivors of the fire itself face starvation and so we relocate them to healthy bushland if we can find them in time.....
While vastly mortified to, also, acknowledge my american (it does not *presently* warrant capitalization) citizenship, I also must thank you from the very depths of my heart. Firstly, on behalf of those precious, precious creatures whom I cry for daily, and who lack the ability to thank you themselves. I assure you, dear, dear people, her protestations before you opened her carrier were merely stress and uncertainty. She is certainly grateful. But, of course, you surely already knew that. Wonderful, rare people. Thank you.
And secondly, I thank you for, in mere minutes, curing my soul wholesale, if only temporarily, of hours upon hours of the traumatic, brain-melting, and, quite frankly, *terrifying* nightmare that is donald drumpf, his cretinous "defense", and the fact that, as of tonight, it seems he will get away with it ALL. I finally had to stop, to find something, *anything*, to keep my brain from leaking out my ears. As if by magic, yours was the first video to catch my eye. Thank you. Koalas not raised in captivity suffer from stress when in care. Especially mothers who have joeys with them. Lady Monday started to become quite agitated as she regained her strength, that's why the decision was made to release her and Monday. They were released far from the fire zone and where they can still be monitored in case their health deteriorates. Thanks for the concern. We're still looking out for them.❤️🐨
