I actually watched an interview with Schumacher and he actually said there's only one driver he respected when he was racing, and that driver was Hakkinen as he always used to give Schumacher a run for his money. Schumacher compared all his opponents and title rivals, and said none of them were a patch on Hakkinen which is why they didn't earn his respect. I do miss those days when it was those 2 battling for the title. It was one that you could never call.

Häkkinen talks significantly more in finnish than in english! Just like Räikkönen. Finnish people are great, they have something special that makes me to like them
Like what ? The COWARDICE AND BETRAYEL in them that makes them one of the biggest lovers and among the first offcial ACCEPTORS of communism brought upon them by jews in 1918 or 1919 wich overthrew the monarchy and brought the FILTHY ASS so called "res public" of today. They love COMMUNISM and MARXIST so much, that they are,for a long time, run by a COMMUNIST party member of the "Marxist International" (desguised under the eufeminst name "socialit international") en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socialist_International wich is MORE COMMUNIST THAN CHINA,nord corea or vietnam, these 3 beeing only 3 of the OFFICIALLY COMMUNIST but that DOES NOT even have a party member of this international, let alone by governed by it. So beside the red and blonde hair and ADORABLE whitest skin, there is NOTHING to like at fins.NOTHING.
Samuel Jimenez OFF COURSE he talks more in finish.HE'S FINISH,is normal to speka ONLY in Finish, cuz that's your language and just let others traduce who care about what you say.
As a Finn, i'm always a lot more conserved and carefuld when speaking English. I don't talk a lot in Finnish either but in English a lot less..I think the reason is that i'm just trying to be too perfect, scared of failing to pronouncing words correctly etc. I'm not saying Mika has the same issue, maybe it's just me.
To come back after a near fatal accident in Adelaide, clinch 2 titles and beat that generation’s best driver proves to me that Hakkinen is one of the greats. Lost none of his speed until 2001, and probably the most sympathatic driver on the grid that I can remember. Choosing between him and a ruthless driver backed by a Machiavellian team was the easiest choice me and my brother ever made. Plus the McLarens had amazing liveries during this period.
That McLaren from 2000 is probably the best sounding racing car of all time on top of it all. That was a great era for motorsports and McLaren, before they too became corrupt.
When i started watching F1 i almost instantly was a fan of Mika . He is just so awesome. After he was gone i fell for Kimi , which i still am a supporter of today. Seems like a got a thing goin for Fins
Mika has an old soul, his considered answers to the questions posed were a joy to read, his has wisdom and insight that comes from humility, it radiates from him :)
I begin to follow F1 in 1998, at the beginning of their battle. I was and still am a huge fan of Michael, but over the years I have come to appreciate Mika and his strange way of being a pilot: terribly fast in the car, especially with the poor Mclarens of the mid-90s, and not so talkative but very funny and polite in the interviews. Definitely now I consider them both as legends.
Lol, I love Mika and Michael's friendship in F1 today. Mika said to Michael on the grid this season "Hey Michael, when will you start driving?", and Schumi was staring at him with his mouth open and answered something like "What do you mean, old man?" :D And in Hockenheim Schumacher was very frustrated before the race on Sunday so he asked Mika if he could perform a rain-dance, cause Mercedes can't compete against the others on a dry race :D
There's MTV Finland which is the music channel, but this is from MTV3 which stands for Mainos-TV, and it's on channel 3, which is where the 3 comes from :D
I agree and let me add he didn't crack under pressure yet being the Ferrari top driver for nearly a decade: fast and determined from his early days in Maranello up to his last win in the WCT. Driving for Ferrari as a top driver is an extremely stressing job: so hat off for Schumacher eventhough quite an unfair challenger overall .
I love what he´s saying at 2:48: Nuthurratta hurra, so parrllaa. Muttoonaa dancing männekeer tappikästallaikka. Assättarga tavassitta että, että tota. Okkstannätukkstarrälätto arrikställoppa tattähätt. I mean, for someone who doesn´t speak a word in Finnish, I´m pretty good...
Nyt huudetaan hurraa, se on paalulla. Mut se on nyt ensimmäinen kerta pitkästä aikaa ja se tarkottaa vaan sitä, että että tota onks tää nyt yks tähdenlento ja sit se lopahtaa tähän
man ... the old school as hard as the rivalery was ... they all respected each other i mean... what can i say ... different times sickens me to the stomache how people talk about each other these days sometimes
Might well be, but they are close to Finland, so that's no surprise. The thing that has puzzled many language-experts is the relation between Hungarian and Finnish. They're related, but quite far apart (in distance). This is quite unlike most other language-families in the world, or so i'm told.
I'll take your word for it, as I'm not familiar at all with Hungarian, I know it has a link to Finnish, although I wonder how much Slav influence is in Hungarian to make it sound different to Finnish or Estonian
Actually no, finnish belongs to uralic languages but there have been hypothesis that uralic and altaic would be one language family, but it isnt supported nowdays.
CZcams is for anyone to use. If you don't like what people upload don't watch it, hmm? There are subtitles for the rest of us. That English title is handy for said rest of us to find this, watch it and gain some insight on one of the deepest rivalries F1 has ever seen.
lol somehow I had to laugh when I read your way to describe finnish :D But if you close your eyes and just listen to him... You could probably be right :o
Funny thing that Hungarian isn't like that, because Finnish and Hungarian are linguistically related (wich is odd given the distance between the two countries).
Well we have similar words but Estonian is abit like finnish with russian/baltic accent. Which makes it sound alot different. But sometimes it sounds pretty much the same.
The video is subtitled in English. Obvious troll is obvious. I'm going to block you because you're spamming the comments and thus preventing discussion between intelligent individuals. I was patient and allowed you to voice your opinion, but the personal insults are a step too far for me.
I love Mika's honesty. He is one of the few who dared to criticize Michael while still showing him respect.
I've never heard him talk so much in one go!
He just hates speaking English haha
Thomas E And here is idea why
languagecatalyst.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/Finnish-comic.png
Hm. Actually he should hate speaking Finnish...
TheRomanRuler hey like most all of those are never used and some of them are inconvenient enough to be hard to understand
+Muad haha yeah but they're still valid words and a native Finn would understand them with ease
yea, must be since he was speaking in his native language
