Yes. I've had tailbone pain for about 3-4 months now. I have bulging discs in my low back, I had a discetomy after rupture L5 S1 about 20yrs ago, I have sciatica, I have what I believe is piriformis/butt pain as well and now my tailbone! I sit for way too many hours for work 10hrs days typically and twice a week a 2 hour drive to my second office. I saw my ortho and his only recommendation was coccyx pillow... there's got to be something more I can do.

I bruised my tailbone after falling down the stairs . It looks like it shifted to the left since there’s more pain there. It’s really excruciating and I’ve been crying for hours. The closest pelvic floor physical therapy is an hour away and it’s hard getting there. Thank you for your video I hope you can do more of these videos to ease our pains and hopefully heal ☹️

I also had accident at work 11 yrs ago at work, I prayed for death, the pain was excruciating. I went thru therapy, thru lots of meds & thru injections tt provided temporary relief. For me the ONLY thing tt gave me relief was 5mg of Zolpidem, and gentle walking. Your body must begin to move or arthritis sets in. To this day I cannot stay sitting down for long, when I travel, I have to use Tramadol for pain, I have to walk to alleviate pain. I will incorporate these exercises into my routine & write back in one month.

I'm so glad I found your channel! I have been experiencing tailbone pain for about two months now. I'm a fairly active person and it's not restricting me too much, but I definitely have to hang my tailbone off the end of my exercise mat when stretching, and sitting on soft surfaces makes it hurt as well. A few things that might be helpful to know: 1) From January 2016, I've lost about 85 lbs. I definitely started to feel the presence of my tailbone more as my weight dropped, but sitting on soft surfaces was never an issue until recently. 2) I've been working from home since the quarantine, and until about a month ago I was sitting on a metal folding chair with no padding. (I now have an office chair, but I sit on a rolled-up towel. I sit at a computer for the entire workday.) 3) I have a history of scoliosis. It was treated when I was a teenager, and it hasn't seemed to cause any problems in my adult life. 4) I do not recall any one event where I injured my tailbone. I definitely haven't fallen on it.
Thanks so much for reading this, and for your videos! I'm definitely going to incorporate these exercises into my routine.

Last year I fell backward onto left sit bone. Caused upslip of ilium that was undiagnosed for 4 months. Also sacral torsion. Odd thing was that as those areas got realigned thru PT, my tailbone became painful. Now I think I know why. There was a lot of emphasis on kegal exercises during all my other strengthening exercises. Just doing your exercises once with you, I feel improved!

Yes, severe pain in tailbone as of March 2021. I fell on my tailbone in May 2020. Xray showed it wasn't broken. I used ice and stayed off of it until it healed about a month later. Unfortunately, the pain came back at the beginning of march 2021 and has bothered me daily since then. I hit the tailbone directly on the concrete while rollerblading. It was excruciatingly painful.

Yes, I thought I had a bruised tailbone because I just starting working a new job where I spend a lot of time sitting on a chair that is only big enough for a toddler. Without saying more that this, I believe now, after watching your video that my pain IS indeed an over use injury and that my pelvic floor and surrounding muscles are just completely balled up. I spent an hour doing these stretches the moment I saw you do them before going to bed last night. After doing the exercises I went and sat on a wooden chair, something I haven't been able to do for weeks without a foam coccyx pillow. I was skeptical when I could sense my coccyx but the deep pointed pain on my coccyx wasn't really there. I tried to shift to reproduce it and all I felt was the consciousness of my pelvic floor and the sense of aching and soreness from all the places I had just stretched. I awoke and did the stretches again. Every one of the muscle groups you showed to stretch were very tight and every time I finished one I would return to a neutral position on my bed in a state of relaxation I can only describe as what I feel after an orgasm (pardon me for using this as an example, but I don't know how else to describe it). I was convinced that because of the small chair I have been sitting on at work that I was developing a pressure ulcer or something, or the one piece work suit that I am required to wear was putting pressure on my coccyx because of the seam running down the middle of my back. I really hope this was the problem. Can you recommend icing or heating the area as well, if I would do that before or after stretching, and how often I should stretch and how long I can expect to feel this until it gets resolved? Thanks for your excellent video and for sharing your experience with us. Cheers.

my 15 yo daughter is a competitive gymnast and has had tailbone pain for about 4 weeks. There was no obvious trauma to elicit the pain but she had spent some significant time sitting rather hunched over on a hard cement surface for several days in a row prior to the onset of pain. She has restricted her training which is not in alignment with preparing for the coming season. CT and plain films showed no bony abnormalities. I will have her try these techniques to alleviate the pain which is likely caused by soft tissue strain.. Hopefully she will be able to return to full training with minimal pain. I will let you know if these help. Thank you for this very informative video.

Like wrestler picks his opponent up then body slams him onto the mat on his back. Very excruciating!!! I could NOT move for 2 hours. My muscles were in shock. I paid on my deck for two hours with no help except kittens crawling all over me! After two hours my muscles very slowly began to release. About another hour I was able to crawl inside my house.

Yes. I've been having pain for a little over a month now when I sit for a long time but it goes away when I walk or even at night when I sleep . but I don't know if it is my tailbone it self because when I put my finger down there and push in on my tailbone itself it don't actually hurt.. it's actually like on each side of my tailbone especially on the right side of my tailbone when I push in on it that radiates up my tailbone.. I have been a truck driver for over 20 years now and this is the first time I've developed this pain and I tried to stop and stretch and walk as much as I can but it's now also making my lower back muscle really stiff and sore can I tried everything in the world so far and even a tailbone pillow doesn't seem to help much . Now I have to sit for many hours at a time while driving to make any money and it's getting where I can drive less and less hours at a time now and if it gets any worse I will definitely have to give up this career if it gets any worse.

Yes immense tailbone pain and sacroiliac joint dysfunction I'm hypermobile in both si joints after a twisting injury then a few months later became hypermobile in my tailbone after a couple of falls landing flat on my butt. I also have ehler danlos syndrome which is a connective tissue joint disorder affecting joints, gi track, heart and other organs. I've been suffering from si joints, sacrum and tailbone pain now for almost 3 years and seen physios once a fortnight doing daily exercises and never got better. It's so painful to ride in cars because of the bumpy road It flares up from si joints, sacrum and tailbone hours and hours after I go in the car I literally have to put my hands on either side of the seat and lift my butt off the seat putting the weight on my arms just to avoid immense impact from bumps in the road otherwise I can be in a bad flare for days, I also can not walk upstairs or hills without immense pains in si joints, sacrum and tailbone again lasting for hours sometimes days after, and sex is a no always flares up my those areas for a week after sex. Even just sitting on a train where theres vibrations of the train shakes my si joints and tailbone causing immense pain. I have seen many physios over the 3 years still doing my daily strengthening and exercises and I never got better I only got worse overtime. I've had a steroid injection into si joints that helped a bit but only lasted 3 months next to get a tailbone steroid. After that is the nerve burns and then to see an orthropedic and get surgery hopefully as my life is over at only 31.

Yes. My tailbone hurts very much. However, the doctor did not give me an accurate script for pelvic floor treatment. He wrote it for hip pain. Now i have to wait til Tues to straighten this out and get an appt. for the correct p.t.

Yes I have tell them pain hip pain pelvic pain from Ml-ddd and symptomatic tarlov cysts as well as SPS. I had a pelvic floor therapist blends all she did was teach me stronger kegels and didn't address any of my other issues it was a waste of my time energy and exposure to extreme heat that I didn't need.

My Osteopathic doctor calls it an unstable sacrum but the adjustment, doesn't seem to last. He has given me exercises, pulling knees towards me while laying on my back while i push my knees away with my hands. Also, using leg muscles to push bent legs together as I try to push away with hands and then just the opposite, I pull bent legs apart as I push together with hands

I swear I damaged my tailbone as a kid when I fell pretty hard on my butt one time. Now I'm 22 and every once in a while, it's so painful I can barely walk.

Yes I have been struggling for over a year. I don’t know what to do. Been to physio and just waiting to see a consultant for possible injections. I can’t sit on anything both at work or at home for up to 30mins. Am only 47 and it’s affecting my mental state carrying a cushion about.

I used a racketball ball and it was really painful on on side, but it subsided after breathing. Hope my pain goes away…I’ll add the folded towel to my office chair to see if that works! Thanks for the video!

Great information. I have what looks like a gash or cut about 3cm at the base of my spine. Keeps reoccurring about every 6 months or so. Not serious so far. Anti biotic cream I use, the same as for piles. Seems to keep it at bay. At least in this case the Dr is speaking from actually having the problem as well as experience. Rare indeed.

Mine is a lot better after seeing a physical therapist but I still have some when I am lying down on the ground trying to do exercises. I first knocked it out of place when I fell off a horse 14 years ago. It didn’t really bother me much except some pain on my right hip sharp pains once in a while when I would walk. Then while I was pregnant about half way through whenever I would stand up it was extremely painful, it continued to postnatal and that when I got some help. It helped tremendously but like I said when I’m lying down on a hard floor it feels like it’s shifting out of place and I feel pain, not horribly but it is noticeable.

@@josielyarnoud873 strengthening those butt clenching muscles as hilarious as it sounds. Things like pelvic thrusts, sitting correctly. It took me roughly 3-6 months to get it fixed. Any exercise that works on your lower back and those butt muscles, do a few reps at least 3 times a week.
