- Come meet an adorable pet Westie that is here to help us show how to "do" a Westie head and face (which includes tipped ears, of course!). This subject has always been a challenge to grooming students, especially because pet Westies can come in a lot of different varieties of coat types, head shapes, and ear styles. But we can still get that adorable Westie look by following some basic rules and tips/tricks. Hope this helps!

What a beautiful patient little girl
She really is just the sweetest girl, I agree. Thanks so much for watching! đ
Thank you! I started clipping my Westie myself when I could never get a good hair cut from the groomer. Thought I can do that and save money, but Iâve always struggled with the head. Now I know how to do it and what scissors to use!
Hi Susan! I love that you are grooming your Westie yourself (my favorite haircut), and I'm so happy the video filled in some of the blanks! The head/face is such a signature part of their adorable look, but it seems to be one of the more difficult parts to learn for students. Sounds like you are on your way to mastering it! Good luck and pls don't hesitate to keep me posted on your progress! đ
Westies are such adorable little characters.
They really are a special little breed! đ
Great tutorial đ
Thank you so much! đđ
Omgosh. Best video ever. Thank you, I am sharing it with my groomer

thank you for the tutorial, I always struggle with the head on my 2 girls
You are so welcome! That Westie head just has to have that "look", no matter what kind of coat they have! Kisses to your 2 little ones & thanks so much for watching!
đ†Thanks for sharing your story!
Westies look fantastic however they are trimmed 1
They really do! â€
Thank you for your help and video. Have been learning to groom my own westie vs take him to someome else.
We had allergy flair up causing browning of the fur - eyes, feet, tummy, and mouth. Was told to use peroxide on tooth brush and water rinse- advice on discoloration? Tips? Would prefer to not use peroxide. Thank you
Hi Ariel! Big question, pls bear with the long answer. 1) Thank you for recognizing that excessive staining usually comes from an allergic reaction. Over-production of tears and saliva carry biological byproducts, like iron that oxidize and cause that rusty discoloration. 2) Once the hair shaft is stained, it is stained. For fast results, you can't solve it without chemicals. Sorry, but truth. 3) I am no fan of peroxide and cannot subscribe or support any home-use idea, but I will say that peroxide is a vilified substance right now - very unpopular. Prob because it dries out the skin while disinfecting. I get it. But if you need to use a chemical to whiten hair that is already stained, peroxide is used by many popular and safe protocols, such as Eye Envy. And I still use it for my own cuts and boo-boos, happy to report I am still alive! đ
Hope that helps and thank you so much for your comment! đ„°
Iâll do my best ! Too difficult some times âŠ
You've got this! đ Good luck with your Westie grooming!
It helps when you actually have a REAL Westie to work with. I get so many poorly bred, floppy eared, long snouted Westies. It's hard to make them look like a Westie.
Hi Crystal, haha, I so know what you mean! In my past, sometimes a new client would bring in a "Westie", and I was like, are you sure??? đ Best one was someone brought in a Scottie and told me it was a rare Black Westie. đđđ It's fun out there in the field, isn't it?! Thanks so much for watching, love having a Kindred Groomer join the convo! đ
Elle parle beaucoup trop la dame mais c'est bien fait
Merci! đ
She doesnât talk too much.
