The reason why this game is terrifying is because of how, realistic it is, the monster's animations are so frickin realistic, you can imagine it in real life, and i dont like that thought.

I love-hate that just before you get into the vent space huggy just kinda looms there smiling/showing off its teeth, politely yet creepily waiting for you to get into its equivalent of a mouse trap so it can chase you around. Like it just chills and stares. This entire game is very good at making you very unsettled, even before a threat is properly introduced, massive props to the devs.

Yeah and how smart he is like it stood there in the beginning and would watch you as you get the red hand and when he walks out of the room he would follow you until you enter the vent then he would just stand there and watch you enter it just to chase you around and throw his big self around just to get you
That vent sequence was by the far most unnerving chase I’ve seen in a game. The life-like animation and speed of the blue figure, the music, the disorienting layout of the dark map. It all adds up to what I can describe as a nightmarish roller coaster.
Bonus points if you're claustrophobic

Yeah, the vent crawling animations of huggy wuggy are terrifying because they're realistic, most horror games have a walk cycle for a monster that just loops and doesnt interact with the environment well, but this game does

I love how they put the chase scene in a tight space. A lot of horror games just let the monster go after you in like a large area, and that's great, but it's also not as scary. You have tons of choices to choose from and give yourself time. But when you're in basically a maze vent, not only do you have to time everything as fast as possible, there's also only one way out. On a side note, that thing looks the cookie monster after eating 20 lbs of pot.
Finally an actual horror game chase. Not those monsters who slowly walk towards you while you sprint away. This beast actually poses a real threat

The way the monster moves is so realistic as his body contorts in the vents, it’s so creative and it’s never really seen in horror games, definitely a game that is trying new things
