yo serious question though, why do the oilers fans boo so much? i mean they were up 7-2 and still booed when the caps got a shot on net.. and oilers fans aren’t the only ones to do this, is this a growing trend or something? kinda bizarre

Still, it's stuff like this, and other events in their history, that make me admire the local Edmonton fan base out there. They have a long history of being classy fans, who appreciate and admire effort and heart, over numbers and spotlights.

The mic malfunction when Brett Kissel was singing the US National Anthem and the crowd belted out the Anthem. And now this game. The passion and support is everything from Oilers Nation. Before the end of the period they changed Bousard's goal over to Hyman and the hats kept falling for so long that linemen had to hold some of them so the puck could drop. It was a great game for the Oilers. The cool part is how the Oilers and the Sabres have been helping each other out this stretch with wins (not against each other).

The Caps players on the ice were visibly pissed about the hat throwing. They just wanted to get out of the building and onto the plane. Then they announced the goal reversal to give Hyman the hatty and there was another hat delay. It was perfection. I was so happy for him when he finally got the goal. Great effort by Kane on the assist.
You could feel a mountain of stones coming of his back. Brown worked hard, he never complained while being switched down in the lineup, his play got better the longer the season went and he did a lot for the team on the PK.
Brown might not justify his contract, but he earned every single clap and chant with his effort.

It was obvious Hyman was going to be first star but the arena let out a audible sigh when he wasn't announced as any of the stars lol. The arena had a great atmosphere last night

I was at the game and I gotta say, what was really sweet is, and from what I've heard from those who watched on TV they didn't show this, people were throwing hats onto the ice on solidarity for his first goal
Thought it was neat to see and Damn what a great game to watch live in general

Great to see Connor get his 1st goal of the season. A little side note, his Dad Danny played for my team the Fife Flyers way back in the 80's. The Flyers are the oldest team in UK hockey and have been on the go since 1938.

I was at the game last night, what a moment to be an oilers fan. He's been getting a lot of flack all season for underperforming but this moment might be exactly what he needs to kick-start his season into overdrive. Overall such a wholesome moment, couldn't imagine myself supporting any other group of guys. GO OIL GO

I was working the game and I stood and applauded him. It was cool to see. I think Connor Brown was crying a bit and you could hear the sigh of relief afterwards. I thought it was pretty hilarious people throwing hats on the ice when he scored. Honestly reminded me of the Harry Potter Chamber of Secrets ending when everyone was clapping for Hagrid. "There's no Hogwarts without you Hagrid."
