- How Labor Is Induced (Pregnancy Induction Methods) - Cervical Ripening Cook Balloon
During induction of labor, the cervix first needs to be "ripened" which means to become softer and more prepared to dilate. There are numerous methods used for cervical ripening, and one very popular and effective method is the Cook balloon. This video will demonstrate how the cook balloon is inserted and what it looks like inflated.

Sooo glad my water broke on it's own during induction 😅
i didn't have this. they called it a foleys bulb. got it in at .5 cm and an hour later was at 3cm. after that, everything progressed really quick

I have it to be done on the 30th, I mean Saturday….. can u please let us know how it went? & does they send u home after that or u have to stay at the hospital??
@jgonz3387 in canada they send you home after they put it in!. You might bleed abit. It feels like mild period cramping. It's just very uncomfortable. Mine only didn't work because my baby was breech. If your baby is head down it could take 5- 24 hours to dilate to 3cm. You can do this. It sucks.. but after it s all said and done you will be closer to your baby.
@@sabba8609 thank you so much 🙏🏻well I am in the UK though…. Yeah my baby is head down, & they are inducing me at 38 weeks because am type 2 diabetic. Hoping for the best….🤞🏼

How did it go?? 😫😫 I was supposed to go in to be induced tonight but I am 39weeks and my baby just isn’t ready to come out yet….i rather wait until my baby is ready on her own!
This is painful
My sister had this and she said it was very painful and the worst part of the labor. i was there she was in tears. also a new nurse put hers in i would decline any students or new nurses. that may make a difference.
honestly the worst thing ever! 24 hours I had it and I couldnt believe I did it!

Painful & very uncomfortable. I couldn't sit until the balloon came off.
Finally ended up doing a CS the following day.

@@psychologistnjerindaruI’m so happy that you are recovering well also!! With a healthy baby as well. I was supposed to go and be induced tonight but something in me backed down! I’m currently 39weeks and I feel my baby will come when she is ready to come! If I do not experience any signs of labor by next week then I will go to be induced but hopefully my baby comes out when she’s ready 🎉🎉❤❤
