  • Testing the theory that lower tire pressure means better traction on the Bad Boy Mowers Maverick. I dropped the rear tire pressure to 10 psi and the front to 12 to see how it does. Check out the video and let me know what tire pressure you run.

where did you get the tire gauge? what brand? Never mind, I found it. Intercomp The cheapest I found was $65. Boy, they really are proud of them, haha.

Yeah they aren’t cheap but I like it. It’s got a big enough range to use on my mower as well as my truck tires at 85 psi. It is well built. Intercomp is a trusted brand in the motor sports world.

12lbs, may try 10 how many hours are you gonna run your Hydraulic fluid and filters?

I need to go back and look at the manual for the hydro gears, but I want to say after the initial change after break-in they don’t need to be changed until 500 hours or something like that.

Just found your channel, new Bad Boy Maverick owner (guess that makes me a Bad Girl). Apologies if you covered this before, any ideas on how to fix the little mohawks left behind by BB? Other owners complain about this. Upgrade pulleys, speed?

I’ve only ended up with issues like you are talking about is if my blades get real dull or my deck gets out of level. I’ve also heard of this issue being caused by the underside of the deck getting clogged. Maybe try scraping your deck.

It only has 12 hours on it, not clogged, blades are new. I'll check level. Thx

May also need to try your height; sometimes I think the grass could be too thick and require a second cut if need be.

Lower your pressure = deck height not being true. 10psi and 4" turns to 3".

      Yep that’s a good point.

Anybody got any advice/thoughts on this? I Googled it and bad boy recommends 12psi front and rear. I did this hoping for a better ride. I literally could lower my deck to mow any of my 50 yards I mow at 3.5-4". What's the consensus? Decrease pressure then readjust deck to be at it's true heights?

What height are you cutting at?

2.5 generally. I try to keep this cogon grass cut as low as possible to keep it from seeding.
