      Czaisz33 Great. I wanted to know, 'cause I've already met people saying "I know everything about witcher", "How is it possible not to know this universe?!"... And then asking me about A. Sapkowski, when I had mentioned books. I'm glad that you're not one of them.
      By the way: A. Sapkowski, who is my countryman, has also written few independent stories, placed out of Witcher's universe (there's even some science-fiction!), and the most popular of them all is called "Maladie". You can search for it!

    • @MgMast3r
      @MgMast3r Před 9 lety +11

      No kidding lol,as a late comer to the Witcher series,I just finished one about 3 months ago and what incredible experience it was(especially at that reveal at the end which left me mind-blown & speechless). The soundtracks,the medieval atmosphere,the superbly done cutscenes and most of all,the superb story it has and how it's executed,with the quests are so well-tied in with each other that they don't even feel like quests at time and more like small parts that complete a big plot point,which in turn complete the overall story. I even enjoyed the combat that many people are put off by and let's not forget about that alchemy system. And of course,the characters. Nothing felt wasted here,even a small banter with a tavern keeper that had no quest whatsoever can reveal interesting bits & pieces of Geralt's past(dude's quite a legend). Even the generic "kill x amount of monsters" contract quests which the majority of RPGs have didn't feel out of place here,since as it felt perfectly natural for a witcher to take on such contracts - it's what they do for a living.
      The Witcher is a game where you really want to take your time with and see what it has to offer. Of course it has it's flaws,everything does but the pros far outweigh the cons.

    I just finished this game after dropping it like 3 times. I just couldn't get into it, the combat was janky, the character models were ugly, and the beginning was uninteresting as hell. Then after forcing myself to play just a bit more, and at least finish chapter 1, something "clicked". I was walking through Vizima, it was raining and I realized the game was beautiful sometimes, the level design was gorgeous despite the engine limitations. I was talking to a lot of interesting NPCs who seemed to all have their own life and it felt real, like the world didnt revolve around my character and all characters had their own motives and secrets. When i realized I was hooked the game started to feel better and better, and after 40ish hours, after doing all quests and almost all sidequests, trying to make the best choices despite how ambiguous and morally grey the story was, I was watching the credits, and this song hit me like a brick. I almost teared up. This game, despite all its limitations and flaws, was epic, even in 2022 (almost 2023 yay), and I`m super excited for the remake.

    One of the greatest surprise's I've had in gaming.
    I stopped playing this game for about half a year maybe, during Chapter 2. I was finding it so boring, but it was mostly because I wasn't that invested, I was playing the game just so I could say "yeah I beat it"
    Anyway, after all that time, I made a second playthrough. This time, my Witcher vibe was totally high and I wanted to experience it all. Suddenly, Chapter 2 was a breeze, I put some time into the game and thinking about what was going on in the story. Now I miss experiencing it for the first time, walking back and forth while listening to that eerie Trade Quarter theme, talking to those weird people and investigating... this game is filled with atmosphere and identity.
    I also played with polish voices because I wanted to really immerse myself, after all, The Witcher is a polish product. So good.
