NECR 611 after the storm with 417 trailing. 3/16/2023

With a wave and horn salute, engineer Kennith takes his train with 73 cars to Palmer, MA on Thursday, March 16, 2023. A massive nor'easter hung over New England for almost 3 days and brought three, (to as much as four feet) of snow to the hilltowns of NH, VT and MA. Thousands were without power for days.
At the time of recording this video, the snow was melting fast from the warmth of the unfrozen ground underneath the snowpack.. The NECR did run a plow over the line and Amtrak's Vermonter service was cancelled the day before on Wednesday, March 15, 2023.
