Can this be made ahead of time? Like a day or two before an event?

Hi, your video looks great and I'm going to make your recipe. Question regarding the sea salt. In the printed NYT recipe, the intro it states: "the sea salt is not an option - it’s the beacon at the top of this gorgeous treat", and in Step 4: "Sprinkle lightly with sea salt and bake until golden brown but still soft".
Have you ever made the tiered chocolate chip cookie cake using the sea salt sprinkle on top and would you recommend trying it? Thanks for your advice.

How long did the cake sit out before you noticed cracks?

Hello I keep watching you over and over lol! I have to make one for my bride on the 26th of November and I need a 12 inch round tier and a 9 inch round tier and a 6inch. My question is how did you get the the weight of each cookie to make up a tier. Also what is you recommendation for storing the cookies until I need them?

Glad you keep watching! 😛 I think I just made one in the size I needed and then matched it for the rest.

Do you think this should be doweled for a grooms cake? How would you get the dowels in without cracking the cake? Also I think it might be best to stack the top tier at the venue. What do you think?

I made this a while ago but I remember that I did not need to dowel. The cookies held up without it and there was only a little cracking.

I'm making this for a wedding for the grooms cake. How many days in advance can I make this and can I freeze it?

I have not tried freezing it yet! Let me know how it goes!
