The jp version sounds like a guy who's got some new power pretty well. The English version, however, sounds like a guy who needs MORE POWER.
He lacks...MOTIVATION
You could say he is THE STORM THAT IS APROACHING.
Some people wont get this but im an intellectual
A guy who hasn't spoken the word "Jackpot".
He is Vergil, Son of Sparda after all XD
Ah, yes, the sixth ranger. Overpowers the enemy in their first appearance, then slowly gets weaker later on.
*looks at Dekabreak.
Quantum Rangers power from what I remember were rather consistent
unlike other six rangers, the quantime ranger also got his own battlilzer mode. Wes and Eric were like archrivals, so to heat up the rivalery, the writers probably thought it be a good idea for both to have similar powerups. This reminist the tommy and jason rivalry, which I really liked.
@@xcmet yep which I loved as well. That's why Quantum Ranger is one of my favorites. The only Rangers that didn't suffer too much from the "sixth Ranger" syndrome were Tommy from MMPR, Eric from Time Force, Cam from Ninja Storm, and Trent from Dino Thunder
Exactly
Wes: Hey, Eric. Your Quantum Ranger days are over. Give me the Quantum morpher.
Eric: If you want it, then you'll have to take it. But you already knew that
Wes: I had the feeling you'd say that
Eric: How many times have we fought?
Wes: Hard to say. It was the only memory i had about us when we were kids
Wes: *smiles while holding up Time Force Morpher
Eric: *smirks while holding up Quantum Morpher
"Time to finish this Eric! Once and for all"
something cool about Eric as the Quantum ranger is that his actor, Dan Southworth, was trained in martial arts and did all acting for him, including the suit work.
What's this doing here
pokemaster123ism For all non Sentai fights of course
Wasn’t he also a foot soldier in this season?

Lol nobody gets the Vergil reference
Don’t get so cocky

The only reason Eric survives to death was because he was interpreted by Dan Southworth, and you just can't kill Dan Southworth.
Dante tried
A lot
You really cant kill that guy...
Maioly ikr, I didn't know Vergil liked dress up
I wish i could agree, but Dan Southworth was in a shitty made-for-tv House of the Dead movie where he dies after trying go hand to hand with a zombie.

At least that game gave us a model to mod his face into DMC5 though.
The fact that he is the VA for Vergil and that the sword turned blue at the end made me laugh.

Indeed a Spardaposting
Made in Japan
Seeing him in Battle for the Grid with all his lines must be cathartic for y'all lol
Marcel McFadden
I watched it like 10 times loved the incorporation of Vergil’s line in my favorite power ranger! Dan Southworth is the best!!
Even though Eric and Naoto are pretty much the same character. The only real difference is that near the end, Eric came to terms with his character at heart and developed into a much more respectable human being. While Naoto died; he somehow at least died in a future out of his control yet while on his own terms, and how he told Tatsuya to change the future became the single most motivational element behind the entirety of that series, and represent its entirety as a whole. His death gave his character a far more emotional impact on the series.
Whoa, I haven't finished the series yet
They were gonna kill Eric but weren't allowed to (you can even tell which scene; after he's wounded taking a blast for Mr. Collins, he doesn't really do much for the rest of the finale, does he? Almost as if he wasn't planned to be around after that?) It's too bad. But, that left him to be a pretty awesome part of the team-ups he was in!
Pretty much the same character hell, the two actors look somewhat alike.
@@ecliptorcalrissian5014 9/11 happened which cause them to censor a couple of scenes.
So does Naoto's revolver work on quantum power too?
A big reason why Dan Sourthworth was cast as Eric (he’d auditioned so many times prior for other roles in the series) was because he bore a strong resemblance to the original actor so they could inter-grate footage easier

This side by side.... DEFINITELY confirms Time Force is up there in one of the best cohesive stories with Power Rangers/Super Sentai.

@@guardianvalor962 DMC Vergil
I mean, he basically does a judgement cut at the end, so.....
The ironic thing is, Vergil behaves more like Naoto than he does Eric, at least until DMC5.
But for all of his DMC3 appearance, Vergil, like Naoto, was power-obsessed and unscrupulous. That's the other key difference. Naoto had very little redeeming qualities and paid dearly for his overambitious drive, just as Vergil paid for his ambitions by being turned into Nelo Angelo and dying once. It took realizing his screwup in creating Urizen and then being beaten by Nero before he wised up and let go of his ambitions.
In contrast, Eric, while having the same drive to gain power to drag himself out of his rut, was not controlled by it, and, push comes to shove, had a sense of self-respect and code of honor.
Where Naoto staged a hostile takeover to usurp the City Guardians the minute Wataru Asami was indisposed, when Wes was forced to take over, Eric GAVE UP the position of Silver Guardians captain, the reason he took the Quantum powers for himself, out of disgust for seeing Wes be forced into the destiny he wanted to avert.
Naoto was about to be tossed aside and killed like a punk for his ambitions, not even counting the fact that Ryuuya puppeteered his fate. Eric was rewarded for his better qualities by regaining his position, having a proper reconciliation with Wes that he can enjoy, and, of course, getting to live.
So Vergil is basically the voice of Eric and the brain of Naoto.
Naoto think he Urizen fr
So the man playing eric was always someone who wanted more power. (Eric, vergil, and another couple characters)

Eric's ACTING was so real
Personally I think that he brings a little bit more personality to the character. For example, when he's getting hit in his unmorphedform, you really get the sense that he's taking some real damage and Dan Southworth conveys it perfectly.
Yeah Dan Southworth was such a great counterpart to the actor who played Naoto. Both just brought it 110 percent into the role.
The way they and he portray Eric really does sell how different he is from Naoto. He's elated and power-high. Naoto has gone beyond that and is just full-on "you deserve to be beneath my boot" smug. Eric was NEVER that arrogant...and in hindsight, he was rewarded for nowhere near being such an asshole.

My whole life as a Power Rangers fan, I didn't know that it's a copy and pasted show. They take the Japanese footage from Super Sentai and mix it with the scenes that are shot in the US. When someone told me that, my mind was blown away.
Shot in New Zealand actually 😂 The action director works on both Japanese and English versions of the show.
Seasons from Ninja Storm onwards were shot in New Zealand. All the prior seasons were shot in and around Los Angeles.
It's mind blowing at first but makes so much sense when you think about it
You can tell from the earlier seasons because of how grainy the old sentai footage was. That was how you can tell which was sentai footage and which was american footage. But with Ninja Storm/Hurricanger and onward, you can hardly tell which is which.
The Japanese version rocks! The American version is watered down and SUCKS! To me watching Power Rangers was like watching paint dry, while Super Sentie on the other hand was very exiting. Maybe it was the phoniness setting of California that turned me off from it.

By any name, this is one of my favorite characters. See, Rangers are always the best, chosen by the mentor, the organization, or the Magic Power-Granting Shiny Thing. But the Quantum Controller/V-Commander and Q/V-Rex were lost in time when the portal thingy malfunctioned and found by someone who'd never be picked by Zordon/Captain Mitchell/Quasar Sabers/Energems/insert closest Japanese counterparts here. He's motivated by wanting power because he hates having been powerless, and that's pretty much it! He has to grow into being Ranger-worthy over the course of events and learn to let go of his less noble vendettas. They don't make 'em like him every year!
Normally, the main cast don't choose to be Rangers, and neither do most 6th Rangers. In Eric's case, he just happened to be the one to take the Quantum power. It could have been anyone, to be honest. That's why his role as a character is such a significance. He's literally just a normal average guy who happened to have a duty as a national guard. He isn't a special kid with inhuman powers or connections to the bad guys that would significantly help the main Rangers if he rebelled against the villains. Quantum Ranger/Time Fire is literally just there for the sake of being badass.

I find the most interesting part to be all the 1-second cuts to the Sentai footage for Power Rangers. Seems like it's not something that needed to be done, but I guess they needed to shave off as much as possible.
Also, the fight choreography during the first Saban era, especially the second half (In Space onwards) was so damn good.
