I know Super Sentai gets campy at times, but the Pink Ranger turning into an electric fan takes the cake. Nice job on the video, by the way.
+John C Meyer Well, that's a part of Houka/Magi Pink's charm when you really think about it. Of course, the more you think about it....Magiranger was considered to be a bit more light-hearted than Mystic Force because of its' comedic tone from its' main heroes and the characters of Nai and Mare/Vancuria (Necrolai's Sentai counterpart).

+Xaviergray87 Also MagiPink and Mysic Pink do share the same element, the only difference is MagiPink represent fairy so it make sense due to her energetic and girlish personaliy. That also explain her turning into objects or person fool opponent just like a fairy trickster

Zanny Zanny It's because Houka/Magi Pink's character and her animal spirit in the show were intentional. She's suppose to represent a fairy. Child-like, energetic, humorous, playful and always curious. Plus, she's suppose to take on the form on any item she desires. So, it's quite obvious that the show writers and producers of Magiranger knew what they were doing when they were writing the character of Houka. Now, Vida is just a typical tomboy character who had to get used to wearing and liking the color, pink. But, the only crime is that she, along with Xander, Maddie, Chip and Claire got the short end of character development and concentration in the show because everything had to revolve around f@#$'n Nick and his boring-ass family and Daggeron, and Catastros, and Jenji and Leelee.
We could've gotten to know about the other four Mystic Rangers, but noooooo!!!! It's all about how freakin' special Nick is and how he's gonna be the next "Harry Potter". *NICK, NICK, NICK, NICK, NICK, NICK, NICK, NICK!!!!* And you thought the whole "hero worshiping" of Jayden in Samurai/Super Samurai was bizarre?! That's just cupcakes compared to how much concentration Nick got in Mystic Force. At least Mack from Operation Overdrive had a better story-arc for his character. But Nick?! He ain't got s@#%!!!
*sigh!* I'm sorry for my outburst. But that's just something from Mystic Force, that I, personally, can't take serious of.
I think PR was a bit better when Disney had them. Story wise they were pretty good, especially Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder and SPD... They weren't afraid of shooting more (badass) original footage in and outside the suit. They had constant team ups with past Rangers. Personally I think Nick/Saban could take a few cues, maybe even team up with Disney.

There might seem to be more team-ups, but are there, really? Many series in Saban era were connected, so there was no reason for a team-up, while every series in Disney era had a separate team.
Saban had 5 team-ups (including Forever Red) and Disney had 4 (with 2 team-ups in SPD)
But I agree, Disney had quite a lot of original footage, just like Saban used to before Neo-Saban era (which was such a pain...)
One thing that bothered me in later PR seasons was the grunting. I think its totally okay to do grunts in battle, but there are two ways to do it: From MMPR to Turbo, most of the actors were martial artists, so they had they own "battle cry", which was actually kinda cool, because it added something unique to them when they were in battle. To this day, Tommy's grunts are still remembered by fans. Then there was the Space - Wild Force period, where they stopped using battle cries, but had more neutral grunts. It still sounded okay, because the actors made it sound like they put a lot of energy into every punch. But from Dino Thunder and onwards, they made it way too obvious that they are reading the grunts from a script, and at times it sounds like they couldn't care less how it sounds, so they just made a generic "Hiyaaaaaa".

EggRollian So?! It never bothered me when I first started watching Magiranger. Seriously, it's just one simple aspect to a character, why you gotta make such a big deal about it?! Just because something is different from one version doesn't that it can't be entertaining to watch. How would you feel if I say I don't like the later seasons of Power Rangers because they keep bringing in new characters for every single season? Would that change anything?! NO!!!! EggRollian Well, that's pretty much how everyone else is reacting over people making one little aesthetic from a TV show all that important, when it's not. Sorry if my rant offended you, but that's just how it is. Don't get too offended by one thing that is different in another version, when you still have original version that you're familiar with to look back at, okay?! It's not like it's gonna hurt anybody or whatever.
Aesthetics: Mystic force is better since they have more money to use on CGs, although I do prefer Magiranger's transformation sequence. (It's more simple and less tic-y) For those talking about the pink's transformation, it's just cultural difference. Japanese version always tends to be more children-friendly and again has less production value than American versions (personally I prefer the american version for that. Much cooler)
Sound: Magiranger is better. The American version's sounds, especially during transformation and action sequences like they're taking a huge dump and the whole intonation is more dramatic and cliched while Japanese version is more natural (as with animations) Even the dialogues. the American one is too punny and cliched. Japanese one also have those moments but not as much as the American version (personal taste). I prefer the Japanese version's music too. It's more fitting. Also, I love that the Japanese version recites incantations before the magic.
Story: Japanese one by FAR! The biggest problem with the power rangers is that they all have completely same stories. A powerful being, in order to fight against the evil force brings five random teenagers and they fight and become a team. Except for the themes (magic, ninja, time etc.) and locations, they're always the same. The Japanese version, especially this one was exceptionally phenomenal. Five brothers and sisters, who live with their single mom suddenly find out that her mom is a protector of Earth from evil beings from Infershia and tells them that it is their duty to also protect the Earth and gives them the magiphone. They witness their mom getting killed by the evil forces but they stand up and fight. This whole series is based on courage and love (family) and the sentai play it out amazingly. Even in this episode, magired couldn't fight because her mother didn't give him a phone since she considered him to be too haughty and irresponsible and only when he was ready to sacrifice himself to save his bros and sis, gave him the phone. The whole story is full of twists and turns and is an emotional rollercoaster and actually deals with family (financial, social etc.) problems outside of the magiranger duties. Even though the red's the leader, the dichotomy of being the youngest brother is played out beautifully.

i actually loved both equally. Magiranger had a better story but PR had better action and character development. Plus that line, "Pink is not my favorite color, but trust me, it's not gonna be yours either!!" I thought was pure genius!!! I also loved the characters a bit more on the PR side. On the sentai side, they weren't afraid of getting a bit dark with the story. I also loved that they were siblings!!

Don't know what your talking about action, Magiranger's final arc stomps on anything any Power Rangers series has done.
Dude rewatch the series, there's plenty of episodes in Mystic Force focused on other rangers character, when Maddie is turned to stone, the short vampire arc between Chip and Vida and more

Magical Transformation! Magi Magi Magiro! There was also a similar transformation used in Hero Mama League (in which Houka Ozu, mother of Fuuka/MagiPink, ran while transforming to fight against Space Ninja Demost) and recently, in the Super Sentai Strongest Battle (in which Kai Ozu/MagiRed transformed with his MagiPhone). Until today, MagiPhones still work! Our overflowing courage changes into magic! Magic/Magical Squadron MagiRanger!!!
I don’t know about story but morph wise I like the Power Rangers one better. I just like the look of it. I even like the grunts they do when they jump. And I think what truly makes me like them more is the way the helmets appear. I just love how they appear from the side turn to face the camera and the helmet appears more slowly in a pretty effect
I love PR but I do respect the Super Sentai. Besides, it where the Power Rangers existed.

I like Mystic Force better, the morph sequence seems more epic with them the large leap and the helmet forming around there head and then filling in the visor. Plus their standard uniforms with the vest, gauntlets and their emblems on the pants legs looks so badass!

Yeah sentai is for the whole family while pr was made strictly for little kids.
To be honest I think the Japanese one is better, since this entire thing was about courage most of the time and also the bond, and if it is the family version there’d be an interesting story to actually make from instead of strangers/friends also (I haven’t seen the English ver.) And also to me I think making this seem actually believable for the English ver. The English was somewhat cringe to me, and also since the magic users for bothe eng and Japanese were using magic first time it seemed that the English ver made it seem that they have used it before multiply time while the Japanese ver made it seem like they were new to it.
Basically what I’m saying is that the story could of been a bit realistic and enjoyable like the original one but the English made it seem to cringe

Houka-chan wins! Super Sentai > Power Rangers in all angles! I love how Sentai's stories and episodes have educational values on how to become a better person not just fighting evil. That's what Power Ranger lacks and also in every move and pose you can feel that Super Sentai has much more spirit and love for the craft.
Very strongly disagree. I think Mystic Force did better here over Magiranger like having butterfly wings blow the minions away as opposed to turning into a fan. Also teaching life lessons has been Power Ranger's MO since Day 1.

Houka is a girly girl type and she is fairy-themed, her special power is turning into something, she choose a fan beacuse her element is wind and don't take everything seriouslly from japanese tokusatsu, just adapt it for yourself and enjoy it, not only clip show wise but the story and development.

Maybe it's because I saw Mystic Force first, but I'm kinda biased towards it. It was less in your face about the whole family thing, and I guess I just liked the worldbuilding and the characters more.
Also, not to be that girl who defends her favorite character just because he's her favorite, but despite his mind-numbing amounts of screentime, Nick got even less actual focus than the others. He was always developed in relation to some person or another (even MADISON), never as an individual. It always felt like the spotlight was more on his dad (no spoilers) than on him. Which is sad, really - he had potential to be a great character, if only the writers didn't decide it would be a good idea to screw him over.

Lets be real. I love Power rangers SPD, Dino thunder, and Ninja Storm, BUT Mystic force was the BEST season and theme song from the power rangers series from the 2000s! Nick was sexy. Madison was gorgeous. Xander was funny. Vida was a baddie. Chip was a goofball. Udonna was an amazing leader along with Daggeron. Clair was clumsy but sweet. And the enemies were actually evil and scary. I can’t believe its been 17 years ago I used to wake up every Saturday just to watch Mystic force as a kid, knowing my dad forbid me to watch it when I was 7. Lmao I had to beg my dad to let me be the red ranger (Nick) for halloween 2006😂 I am now turning 24 soon, and 2006 feels like a lifetime ago😩

For me, growing up with PR Mystic Force from 3 years old, is kinda sad knowing now that all Power Rangers are just adaptaiton to a japanese series and all fighting scenes are literally cut from Super Sentai.

just when i thot that power rangers are so easy to film. turns out it was alot harder for the crew to do their job. too many footage editting to fit the american version and avoid major resemblance that can get them sued for copyright. although the sentai allowed power rangers to happen so us americans can understand them

As much as i love Magiranger but i think Mystic Force takes the win for the morphing sequence imo because of how vibrant and unique it was same goes for the disney era.

I still don't get how the fight scenes in Magiranger are more "violent" than the ones in Mystic Force. I mean, seriously. How is turning into a pink electric fan more "violent" than just punching or kicking somebody?! That don't make any God-damn sense. I mean Dekaranger's fight scenes are more violent than Magiranger's fight scenes. Even Abaranger's fight scenes are more violent and aggresive than Magiranger's fight scenes.
Well, the biggest violence I see in here is MagiRed's scene where the enemies don't just instantly explode

If you think about it, some of the siblings need to be in high school, college, or almost 30 year old adults.
I think the opposite. I always found the family of 5 siblings story to be cringy in Magiranger for some reason. And a cliche of having the youngest be leader. I really enjoyed the mystic red ranger's arc in the later series of discovering his biological parents.
Power Rangers in general: Yeah, the campy nature in Sentai like Kakuranger's comic effects, Shurikenger's finisher, and Magipink turning into a fan don't work here.
Also Power Rangers: LOUD UNNECESSARY OVER-THE-TOP STEREOTYPICAL MARTIAL ARTS CRIES are a-okay.

i don't know, i think overall i liked mystic force more than magiranger. i wasn't too keen on the family plot especially making the youngest the leader, though i did like Mandra boy, nigh&mear but i think i liked the atmosphear on pr for this series
Well, as much as I don't like Mystic Force, I guess I can respect your opinion. But, for me?! I actually don't mind the whole family dynamics of Magiranger. However, I think that in episode 3 of Magiranger, they've made it clear that Makito (Magi Green) is the formal team leader, since he's the oldest and is the most supportive of the family, while Kai (Magi Red), being the youngest is only the leader during the action scenes. Seriously, Makito is the one who actually comes up with all of the team's battle strategies and Kai just basically leads the team into battle, by just doing what he does best. He never gives out the commands, it's mostly Makito that does all the tactical strategies.

I used to watch mystic force in television(tagalog dub) but when I watch Magiranger is much better than Mystic Force because of the scripts.
What I'm upset about, is that they passed on Mahou pink and blue for personal weapons, like, Pink could have gone with Athame, and blue with a trident? Honestly, no Idea why they passed on that.

Ironically, people criticized Mystic Force for being too focused on Nick. When in reality, no!!! The entire season became less about him and more about LeeLee Pimvare, Leanbow and Udonna by the time we got to second half of the season. Seriously, everything was all about "Big Daddy Leanbow" and how super-duper special he was than it was about Nick.

I like Mystic Force better than Magiranger, simply because I grew up watching it and it didn't have the whole team as siblings and I got to admit, but both of the shows' stories are quite sad in terms of what happened, however, Magiranger's was sadder since their mother was sort of "gone" and at least Udonna was pretty much alive.
This is also one of the few times I like the PR counterpart more than its SS counterpart better and that's why I stopped watching Magiranger. However, when there are times like for example Boukenger and Operation Overdrive, I really love them both despite OO's flaws and execution.

There is no way it can be better beacuse japaness is always better beacuse it's original, it has a effort on fights, stories and character development, pr are just dubbing them and mostlly using their stories (except rpm) so you should respect magiranger no matter what.
So Mystic Force was more physical compared to their Super Sentai Counter-parts who fight like ACTUAL FUCKING Wizards
Still think the photon torpedo and laser sounds effects are unnecessary in the U.S. version are unnecessary because how am I supposed to drop my suspension of disbelief if I can't hear the impact of explosions whenever characters are punching and kicking each other around in this show. That's why I prefer the post-zordon era and Power Rangers SPD, Jungle Fury and RPM over Mystic Force.
