    All the people that whine and complain about steroids know damn well that this is and always will be the most entertaining baseball era of all time. You know you weren't sitting around complaining while you were watching it and crying that they were cheaters you were jumping up and down watching history and watching the most amazing feat in baseball. Just because you got duped you want to act like you weren't enjoying it? Who gives a shit lol they made a fool out of everyone who cares. they gave us the best baseball we have ever seen in our entire lives and it has never been even half this good since. Say what you want but if this is what it takes to make baseball this amazing, I say bring it back and thank you steroids for giving us the best baseball we will ever see in our entire lives

I would always come home from school and the games would be on and he would tell me Sammy hit another homer that day..this season will always hold a special place in my heart regardless of if they used or not. It was amazing to watch and I spent quality time with my grandfather every day ❤

    As I look back at baseball over the years nothing will ever compare to what Mark and Sammy did for the game. They made baseball fun again! I am not taking anything away from the Cubs WS because that was epic. But just the game itself and what they brought to it was fun. Now let's fast forward to 2022 and we are in a lockout once again and baseball is just not what it used to be with players just wanting more and more money but forgetting to have fun and play for the fans. Sammy and Mark where are you when we need you.. Go Cubs Go!

      There was talk at the time that a lot of pitchers, esp younger ones, were not only insisting to pitch to them, but they were throwing them meatballs right down the middle that they could hit out so they could say that they gave up a homer to these guys. .377 OBP
    .647 SLG
    1.024 OPS
    198 Hits

    As much people point out his power numbers, it's his overall approach that made the difference. He had a right center field approach he started going with.
    What's not shown is how much he was willing to hit the ball to right field to pick up rbis besides homers. Sammy took the Cubs from loser's to playoffs. Let's not forget st Louis and McGwire got the record but sammy and the cubs made the playoffs.
    Steroids if anything would make you pull happy. Steroids dont explain the hitting well over 300 along with these power numbers.

    • @iamjp1
      @iamjp1 Před 4 lety +3

      exactly. mcgwire didn’t even hit .300 in 1998. sammy hit .328, and even though he didn’t lead in HR’s, he led the league in RBI’s and runs scored.

    • @NMagChiTown
      @NMagChiTown Před 2 lety

      Exactly... For all the people saying, ohhhh its cause of steroids... I say... Well... Ken Caminiti and Curt Schilling were on roids supposedly too, why weren't they hitting 60 HRs and leading the league in RBI's if all it takes is steroids??? Any one can do it on roids right?? Go and do it then?? LOL They need to stop the hate and let all of those players they've been black balling for over a decade now, into the hall. It's just pure hatred at this point. Stupid lame ass fck face, little boys club, that writer's association. Couldn't throw a baseball from second base to first on a line to save their lives. lol

    Without a doubt, the best battle of the majors, a battle that rescued Baseball, Sammy filled the Cubs and the Chicago City with glory ... and look how they pay him ... indifference, No respect, they are a very bad franchise ... What Sosa did was colossal! and deserves respect and a place in the hall of fame.
