    I like how at the end you really zoom in unlike others on CZcams since you are so confident in your work. Kinda how like people who wrap cars, only show the car from afar.

    Do you use heat when wrapping your vinyl? And did you polish the outside of the plexi ring ? Your videos are a big help.

  • @punkinsgarageandpaint8299

    I watched a video this morning and it you use a octagon pattern mesh. I am needing some for the outside grill on my truck and can't find anywhere else. I am asking about it on here cause I think this trick would be cool behind it as well. Where can I find the mesh like that?

    Heya Mark!
    Huge fan, thanks so much for your time and effort in providing superior content!! I have a rather specific question, have you used or know about light weight materials useable to achieve equal quality for weight sensitive applications? Specifically, MDF is heavy, have you ever experimented with light weight wood such as balsa or even composites?

    • @nrc1911
      @nrc1911 Před 10 lety

      Most people who are concerned with Weight when constructing a Sub enclosure go with Birch instead of MDF.

  • @houstonfirefox
    @houstonfirefox Před 9 lety +1

    Very nicely done! Watched it all of the way through and you did a great job! No to nag, but for a cleaner and safer cut on the router, try and use a "Conventional" cut (against the direction of the rotation of the bit). This means for outside cuts, you'll turn the routed part Clockwise. For inside cuts to go against the router bit direction, you'll reverse and rotate the part CounterClockwise. Although it doesn't matter much in MDF (which has no grain), it IS a safety concern since a "Climb" cut (like you were using) could grab the part and fling it. In regular woods it's important to go in the proper direction to prevent chipout on your grain. Minor point but thought you'd like to hear it. Again, very nicely done!

    Old video I know but at about 8 minutes you're talking about talking about taking a 1/32th off for each piece of vinyl resulting in oversizing by 1/16th, I would think that since two pieces of vinyl need to go in each side of the middle piece that you would need to take of 4/32 or 1/8 off of the middle piece. What am I missing ?

  • @Explore-Gobal

    Hi Mark, I'll be making a view port in a sub box. The box is a small, flat enclosure only .75 cu ft and the window is going to be 11" in diameter. 12" woofer running max 400 W in an SQ system. I'm wondering what is the thinnest piece of plexi I can use in such a case? I'd like use this technique to gain just a little space behind the woofer, so I'd like to use 1/4" if possible. It's a small circle, 12" accounting for a half inch mounting lip, so I'm thinking 1/4" would suffice with minimal flex during woofer operation? You've worked with plexi quite a bit, what is your opinion?

  • @dannyoktim9628

    This is so simple to do . . .you just use a set of templates that were made on a CNC and with some router experience and skill you got a box! How cool is that . . .
