I'd feel naked driving with no seat belt, your just too brave.

Lovely clip. Great to know there are people like you around to keep these
    old classics on the road.

My Dad had a Standard 10 as a family car in the very early 60's.
I could have been the camera in the back seat, and you, my Dad driving. Even though you look nothing like him. But that was the view I had of the back of his head 90% of the time.😊
Your '10' just purrs along beautifully.
    Continued happy motoring.

The Standard sounds absolutely delicious Alex! Also nice to see the Ford of the same vintage running about as well!
Looking at your frozen ice I was thinking Mango and I was right!
    Well done Alex!

Hi Alex. Nice to see the old Standard out and about. You must be really chuffed. Great to see the old 100E bombing around too. All the best, Mart.

Lovely. My 10 had exactly the same seat colors. Your video wakes the nostalgia for me over my USA Triumph 10.

Well done Alex and thanks for the tour of my old stomping ground. I recognised a few parts but having looked on google earth New Milton has changed so much in the 6 years that i left.
Keep up the good work. Maurice.

Fantastic! Definitely a keeper if you can. The rear legroom is a little compromised with your seat set for you 😂But seriously, great car

Very nice , Alex 👌... that drivers seat may need some attention . If you wanted a MOT , just an observation, but it's lovely, really 🙏 did the interior mirror sit on the dash, or was that just on the 8 🤔

Squeaky window winders are pretty STANDARD on the 10's. Wonderful car. Can't beat a bit of Mango.

Maybe some 1950s clothing as a period accessory for this fantastic little car Alex... (Phil)

That reminds me of the story of the young gentleman in the UK who drives a classic and dresses in that very era!

SO underrated, but an excellent car, last weekend, the Standard Motor Club held its International Rally at Sutton Scotney, near Winchester, pity you did not come, there were some excellent cars and Steph Hoy of "I drive a Classic" did a good video of the actual rally day!

Likewise my father had a couple of standard 10's, and i believe a standard 8, over the years in the 60's, brings back some nice memories.

Reminds me so much of the Standard 10 s I used to have . We had the last one for eight years and covered 40.00 miles in it. It took me , my wife and young son all over England on many holidays . Wonderful cars. I now have a 41 year old Ford Granada. Very different but a great car and lots of fun . Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed my 10 .

Great seeing you enjoying a potter around! Looks rather quick on the video - seams to pick up well without much effort!
Can't beat a bit of mango, though I prefer Sorbet with cracking sauce and maple syrup!

You can engage 1st while moving, just double de-clutch 😂

I use one of those suction Halfords mirror like driving instructors have, £7.00 well spent sits just above the dash you can't use a top of the screen one as the visors will keep moving it.

I actually managed to track down a 50s/60s dash mount rear view mirror which I fitted this evening. Looks the part and helps me with reversing/observation etc...

  • @Brinslade

looks like something protruding at the back of the drivers seat that may tear through.

Hi alex, your drivers seat seems to be at a weird angle like the seat frame has cracked? just an observation, also no speedo?

    • @AllThingsAlex
      @AllThingsAlex  Před 6 dny +4

Yes it does appear quite twisted, also base is sagging. Yes there is currently a speedo fault. More to investigate!...
