"That was gutting" I can feel his pain through his voice
I’ve seen a lot of “gutting” losses from contestants who either asked the audience, or just trusted their friends/guts on wrong answers, many a time.
Sometimes you have to be very cautious on whether you think they know the answer, or they’re throwing curveballs, just like what they did, here.
His fault for being so stupid
@@blue_red_screenHe ain’t stupid- he really thought that was what they were thinking and such. It’s not his fault that they misled him to getting the question wrong.
@chrisfinch8637 not saying he is stupid. But it was a very stupid decision with only a thousand guaranteed
Smart dude but the audience messed his game up😰. It was indeed a heartrending loss! 😭
Never trust the audience over 32K
thats what i was thinking
and when its only a 50% answer
Or even partially before that.
Er not really. It's successful more times than not
@@Mac2point1 not once you get to questions over 32 thousand
That saved his life. The best $63K he ever spent. Had he got this right, he would have died climbing Everest with no safety harness.
More full rounds please!
Jeremy tried to help him... giving him sublte hints...
Far less knowledgeable contestants than him have won more money. Really unfortunate, he showed so much promise to make it to the very end. Should've definitely used another lifeline.
Sheer hubris was his downfall. Still have no idea why didn’t set the safety net at £64k. Unbelievable.
Everyone slandering the audience needs to realise that the audience have to press an option, even if they are not sure. This means, any sort of clues in an answer will always sway the majority of the audience towards that answer. In this case, the Beaufort Scale is used for wind intensity and hence immediately something one can associate with meteorology, which likely swayed the majority audience to picking B, even if they were clueless
But are you sure they MUST press? Do they have the option to not answer if unsure?
@@juliansydney9819 yeah true, u probably don’t have to press it; but I guess I meant to say there still would be a lot of people who pressed an option based on an inkling, without being certain
@@juliansydney9819 Jeremy said they have to press something. That should have been a clue to the guy that the audience can be highly unreliable. And for such a specific question, he should not have even asked them in the first place. The average person doesn't know this answer. Which is now confirmed by the 77% of the audience who didn't choose A.
@@juliansydney9819 It only gives you options A, B, C, or D
How utterly stupid to play with only 1k guaranteed
thing is most people woulda thought it was Joseph Henry and 50/50 woulda probably left Henry and Fitz always use your lifelines when you're not 100% sure
Such a bright guy, doing phenomenally well, until he trusted a slight majority of the audience on a question that wasn't about Coronation Street. Three more lifelines! Owwch.
🤣🤣 serves him right for being cocky and not using another lifeline 🤣
If I was the guy before this one I'd be even more furious. To go out on a foreign language question whilst the next guy gets such easy questions up to 125k....
Anything over £16,000 goes beyond “General Knowledge” and is designed that only a small percentage of people would know it. To go that far without using the safety net and to risk that money on something so niche, sorry mate, only got yourself to blame
He didn’t use the save button
He went with the audience cos it backed up what he initially thought was the right answer, that's why he went along with it. Unfortunately for him he lost 63k.😢
The audience really didn't want him to win
I would sue the heck out of all of them
@@SpiderPigggg sue them hahaha
They don't always know the answer
@@blue_red_screenExactly. Back in the day, I always loved that lifeline, and thought it was always helpful, but that’s not always so….
Nobody likes a knowitall.
13:14
"They dont have to answer if they dont know it. Do they?"
Jeremy says they have to push something... sadly they pushed him out of the show.
But do they really have to press a button even if they dont know or not sure about it? Can't they just remain silent?
They can choose not to press any button at all if they dont know the answer, thats why sometimes some contestants and even the host say "Answer and push the button only if you know"... sadly here everyone guessed and just everybody pressed even though they dont know the answer, and also tbh he was kind of over confident which cost him everything, he should have taken the 50:50 to be sure.
You got it wrong here.
Those in the Audience must press on one of the FOUR answers.
If someone doesn't press on one of the Four answers given then, the Host ( Jeremy Clarkson, in this case ) will call out to my the Seat Numbered that person is sitting on and tell her/him to 'PRESS ON ONE OF THOSE FOUR BUTTONS'.
So there, there is no escaping because, all 100 people in the Audience MUST Press one of these FOUR Answers Given.
too over confident, maybe he's learned a lesson and will skip the Everest trip, so this probably saved his life
Exactly my thoughts
I get that he was unemployed but get a good sum of money at least. Even 16k or 32k would still hold for him. He shouldn't have set the safety net THAT high
My final Question to the contestant.
What does it FEEL Like To Be An Art Soul?
He trusted the audience because it confirmed what he thought about himself but he should have asked for another help
Confirmation bias
The dude was already better than any audience member BROOOOOOO. 51% is not enough, and Jeremy said they have to press something. Seriously man. You DO NOT ask the audience questions like this. The average audience member will not know this answer. You ask them garbage pop culture questions. Not specific history things. He also should have led with a 50:50 first, or after. At least then with the off-chance that B was removed, they might go for another one. But because the audience picked B, it's unlikely they would have removed it after. They would have left A and B. But still..... BROOOOOOOOOOOOO. This was so painful to watch unfold. You could just see it happening in real time. From the moment he said ask the audience I knew it was going to be an absolute mess.
15:25 oh no is like the tv show are you smarter than a 10 year old
Channels nowadays are just so monotone but not yours!
This is the price you pay if you trust people.
Whoops 😮
He was overly confident; should have used another lifeline at that point.
That's what you get for being cocky and arrogant.
Pure greed
Not really, more like bad luck.
That is absolutely twisted these questioned are designed to trick the player and theyre most definitely not random the producers will throw one in when they see a potential million pound winner , the minute that Question came up and the answers i automatically thought of the beaufort scale which is wind which is weather that alone would trick me into that being the answer i was once cheated out of 50k on another game show where they threw in trick answers / Question who governs these tv gameshows for their fairness ? Its not right
if you fall for a trick answer you dont know the answer. your trying to win money its not supposed to be easy. when i took my real estate exam pretty much all the questions were designed to trick you but i still pased, you know why? because i took the time to understand what was being asked. works the same way here
Kinda the point, the smart thing to do is take the money if u don’t know. Lifelines usually become either useless or a hindrance for most of the higher value questions
