I have the same issues with sinkholes. After I top off to cover a sinkhole, the wax creates a line around the candle in a place when it was poured over.

Thank you for the advice. What I’ve found is that the grade/quality of the wax is a major factor. I’ve only been candle making for about a year. When I ordered my first batch of soy wax, I didn’t do any research into brands etc and stupidity assumed *all* soy waxes were created equally. That wax was terrible and nearly put me off making candles all together. The tops were *very* uneven and the sinkholes were huge and regardless of what I did, there’d be sinkholes. I did more research on waxes and ended up buying what’s regarded as a very good quality wax (which actually turned out to be a tad cheaper than the rubbish stuff) What a difference! Beautiful smooth tops each time, haven’t had one sinkhole. I still have about 2kg left over from the 5kg bag of bad soy wax and just use that for melts now. I now use coco/soy and para/soy blends and have learned which waxes work well and are quality and which are not.

I use a heat gun; much faster than a hair dryer, BUT, I still get uneven tops. No matter how many times I melt and cool, poke and get the air out, there still seems to be air bubbles coming up. I recently switched from 100% soy to a coconut soy mix. Both have issues. It’s very rare I get a candle that cools perfectly. So frustrating. Also, I am often making quite large candles, in jars and containers, up to 40 ounces, but even my shot glass candles had sinkholes. I’m about to give up 😞

If we only fill the sink hole and doesn't fill the rest then it will not look even
