While a GTR is nice. Getting rid of that S15 was the worst thing ever.

my brother in law had a 2015 sti that blew its clutch before it even hit 60000 miles
if thats the case, u ride heavy on your clutch, i have currently 120000 miles on my clutch and still perfectly ok. not sticky or spongy.

I know. On my 1998 Legacy all the electrical fans and relays are from Maxima and Altima. Same part numbers. On my 2001, they went to GM parts bin. The only Subaru part on Subaru is the engine.

Nihilus Depends on how Sato-san looked at it. Really you see wagons probably 3rd most in Japan. (first being Kei cars, 2nd being just Taxis) I've seen all off 2 S15s in the year so far been in Japan.

Nope Token, the Subaru definitely had a head start, because he started during the 3rd honk and the Nissan started after it. It was about 0.2 seconds difference, but you could clearly see it.

Caleb Roman Yeah I stay in the US and an R35 is a dime a dozen and s15's aren't allowed here yet. R32's get allot of attention since they're legal now, so if you were pull up anywhere with an s15, your gonna get some serious attention. Especially from those who know what it is.

John mark Touche but what good is a lap time comparison when they're not on similar tires. In fact I think all car reviewers should mount the exact same tires on each car for lap time comparisons. Top gear's lap time board would completely get shuffled up.

Rykahnz s15 would of still won, rwd handles much better into corners compared to AWD cars, especially these older cars, suspension setup would also need to be accounted for

The r35? This is a 2011 video. Factory launch control didn't come out until like 2013?
Alan Bowen 2009s had it then they dropped it for 2010/2011 so Nissan says but it did in fact have launch control still. Then officially brought it back for 2012.

Alan Bowen They had launch control the thing was is that they didn't acknowledge that it did because if you used it, it voided the warranty lol. So they didnt endorse using it but it did have it for all years just different variations of it.

I love the Subaru WRX WRX STI and Impreza And Nissan i love the GTR R35 R34 R33 350Z 370Z 300ZX and Silvia but sadly in canada its very hard to find old GTR'S and Silvias.

Martys wtf face and the slow motion reveal of the GTR with the epic background music at the end is my top favourite mcm moment
it's fascinating that in this episode, the GTR was shown as an unstoppable force,
and yet 8 years later in the Lamborghini VS Golf R video, the same GTR ran a 12.87, and Supergramps ran a 12.63 in the 1/4 mile, easily mincing the GT-R.
it just goes to show how far they've come with modifying their cars, and just how bloody fast supergramps is.

Should've gotten a WRX. Still plenty of things to modify, and a better base to build on. Can still get one about as cheap as the S15. A modified WRX would destroy in almost every category except drift, would've won by a greater margin than the RS.

AdonisGaming93 unfortunately, I think the wagon would of won no matter what, AWD meaning instant power to the road from all 4s, rwd you have to use throttle control, meaning a slower start. Only way the Nissan would win would be if he just held the revs and done a burnout imo.
Damn I can't imagine having to sell an S15 that clean. It would be like... well there's nothing to compare it to. At least they're building a V8 one now though.

There's no rules per say, I'm just sating that the mods done to these cars are done tastefully. Many of modern "car enthusiasts" only modify their vehicles in order to try and impress, commonly based on looks alone, oftentimes neglecting performance. Im not saying that I hate camber or that wings are a bad thing, and I'm definitely not laying down guidelines that people have to adhere to, I'm merely sating that in many cases, the modifications done to vehicles in recent times (such as hellaflush) are quite silly in my personal opinion. Look at MCMs civic build, and you will probably be able to better understand what I mean. They modified the car sarcastically in a way that many self-described "enthusiasts" try to. The end result was a car that many would argue was better left in stock form, myself included.

BOV valves were never used for performance, but to prolong turbocharger's life by preventing compressor surge.
Exactly, they proved the common misconception of BOVs increase performance when they just prevent spiking in the boost levels and ensure smooth boost pressure throughout the rpm range (and to sound cool)

Then they DO help, at least at some level. Maybe not in regards to actual power, but in another way. In that case, maybe they shouldn't have made an entire video just to inform people of that.
The bottom line is that it probably isn't a good idea to make a video ragging on something, complete with little jokes at the end, then turn around and pt one on your car. They either help or don't help. You can't have your cake and eat it, too.

Those 1st gen subie leggy wagons were special...with coil overs and sway bars and a modest tire and wheel upgrade they were handling beasts...I did an ej25 swap in one that was froggy as hell. Loved that car till the mother of all mothers...rust...got it.

the 350/370z is not the same level of car as the Silvia. The Silvia was an entry level rear wheel drive coupe priced in the 25k range. The 370z is more expensive with a v6 instead of a turbo 4cyl. The best comparison I can think is like saying the Silvia is like the Camaro whereas the z series is like the corvette.
Bamavol89 I meant compared to the brz frs and genesis, it seems like a good comparison, i would compare the gtr and corvette however the gtr is in a totally different class
