This is the way it was in 50s and 60s. We built cars from salvage yard parts and engines with whatever money we could afford to spend. We also didn't have lights. We had a flagger with red and green flags. Red asked if you were ready and green was go. Lights didn't come until mid 60s. You run what you brung and just had fun, fun, fun. I miss the good ole days.
Another great video, thank you. The first pair up was a real pleasure for me, I really like wagons (what we call estate cars over here) and that purple beauty was a treat indeed. Regards from Wales UK
My home track. My dad used to race a hemi Jeep in the 80's. I'm building a 65 valiant wagon with a 392 in it. I hope to test it these coming fall otherwise it will be the spring of 2023.
2 maybe 3 four speed cars the rest are automatics. Gasser fans should check out the Southeast Gassers Association it's totally period correct no slush boxes allowed.

I get to visit Byron few times a year. My favorite event is Glory Days I've heard they will change to Meltdown Drags for 2022
HUUUUUUUU! ! ! ! ! 👍👍🇧🇷
Hey; what`s up? The Donny on a gasser? No way, WTF!
Great vid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks!
Raised front ends creates massive wind resistance at the far end of the track. Must be the straight front axle.

What’s Charlie deamilo doing at a drag strip?
I wonder is the powerplant towers still near the end of the track
They still there
What are the barriers behind the burnout boxes for?
to keep rocks and chunks of rubber from hitting people and cars, the stagging lanes are rite behind the burn out box!
Let's race
Yes sir!
What track are you guys at it looks like Bryan dragway
It is at Byron dragway
Yep....... Maybe they should paint it on a wall or something like that.
I bet that a Ford will win and lose on this run.
Oh, Yeah!! Drain the Swamp, baby.
We will on Inauguration Day (: get rid of that rotten cheeto and his family.
Keep that political shit off cars. He lost fair and square by the way.
Sure he did lol. I'm sure you're overwhelmed at the great job Brandon is doing huh?
