Been playing very on and off since 2016 and I’m Plat, peaked at diamond on old match making. However becoming part of the community I know 0 advanced mechanics I flow freely understanding the games physics, the shots I like taking, and rotations. Now I feel I must try these to see what my true skills could be 😂
I‘m gc and can‘t do shit. I hit like 1/50 flip resets but thats fine because you really don‘t need those mechanics until very high ranked games. Just become consistent at normal shots and rank up

I'm an [UNDEFINED] and can consistently miss open nets from 2 inches away, do a musty with the right setup, do a breezi with the right setup, do a flip reset and more with the right setup and I've got no clue on how to set any of these up.

The best thing I scored in an actual ranked game is a flip reset musty and I'm champ but since then I haven't played much, I can still do them in freeplay but not every time.

Free training is good, lot of low rank can do stuff with infinite boost, perfect pre-made setup and no pressure. But of you are not able to apply that mechanic you're training for in game is pretty useless.

I actually knew the speed flip when I was gold wasn’t very consistent with it at all but got it down in p2 but the only proof I have is a replay of me in silver and I always did a diagonal flip on kick off like most people do when they try to learn the speed flip but that was a little after the speed flip was found but I’m c2 now

Thank you!!!!! I was going to say this. I can't air dribble consistently and I'm champ. I barely have 900 hours 😩 some of these kids sitting in diamond with 2k+ hours trying to hit mechanics when all you need to get into higher ranks is consistent rotation.

I remember when I was playing rocket league I full on tried the speed flip, and man it's hard to do out all my attempts I only did it 2 times correctly (in training anyways). And in actual games I only hit it once after 15 matches 😔

To speed flip, you need to diagonal flip and in mid-flip, aim your joystick down and air roll left or right. I just reached silver 2
I’m a diamond 3 who once broke champ and over the course of rocket leagues entire life span, just learned to air dribble and extremely inconsistently at that. Anywhere from 3 touches to full contact the whole way. With the occasional complete screw up. Don’t even ask me to start it from the ground, I can’t. Don’t even ask me to flip reset, I can’t. Sometimes, on a foggy night when the wind is blowing true north during a harvest moon I can absolutely nail a double tap, ground pinch, OR (important word here) ceiling shot. These are times when I generally screw up my set up, and think oh hey I could try this, and sometimes it happens. Other than that, I’m a game sense player.
I’m a GC and can accelerate, brake, reverse, air roll and wavedash. Consistently!!

@@tucq9599 An easy way to put it that’s not in any tutorial video i’ve seen. I play on ps4 so buttons may vary. Hold boost, hit x or jump and flip your left stick to the top left at the same time and hit jump again and flick your left stick to the opposite side (bottom right) at the same time. all that within two seconds and it’s a speed flip 😌

As a Diamond 1, I can Whiff, Make a powershot at nothing, and ballchase for seemingly no reason 👍
As a high ranked player, I recommend everyone to learn air roll, before learning these difficult mechanics. It's so funny seeing people attempt resets without having any car control.
As a low rank player who loves grinding out air roll mechanics, i agree air roll is way more important than this stuff, but my ground car control suffers so badly from my lack of ground play and im gold 3 in 1v1 while diamond 1 in 2s and 3s. If youre under champ 1, just learn patience, ground play, and backboard clears. I wish i learned how to play slowly and on the ground before i learned how to play fast and in the air
